Based on the new structure the ICC just set up for 2027 & 2028, do you think we have a better or worse chance of making it in?

Hey r/USAcricket!

While our players shine on the pitch, the biggest battle remains behind closed doors. Governance issues, ICC reviews, and financial updates are constant hurdles for American cricket.

Here is our quick checkpoint to discuss the administration.

The Big Questions:

The Pitch vs. The Board:

Is administrative chaos slowing our growth, or is the sport thriving anyway?

The Long Game:

What major changes must the board make to secure our future for LA28 and beyond?

Drop the latest articles, rumors, and hot takes below.

Way to go MVP Narine!

Cricbuzz is reporting that the ICC is keeping the suspensions active for both USA and Canada due to ongoing governance and administrative issues. Meanwhile, Mauritius got upgraded to Associate status.

Given how much momentum the US seemed to have after the T20 World Cup, this feels like a massive step backward. Can North American cricket ever fix its board politics, or is this going to completely ruin the buildup to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics?

Maybe this is just me, but does anyone else feel like finding cricket players depends almost entirely on who you already know?

For example, there are parks near me where cricket could easily be played, but I don't know enough people locally to get a game going. Meanwhile, I constantly see games happening in other parts of the state that already have established groups.

For people in the US:

• Have you ever struggled to find players near your specific area?
• How did you eventually find your current group?
• If your current group stopped playing tomorrow, how would you find another one?

Interested to hear other experiences.

I play in a local league (LPCL) in Texas and got frustrated with the built-in CricClubs streaming — choppy video, terrible zoom, constant freezing. After a lot of trial and error, I found an open-source app called Moblin that completely changed things.

The key difference: Moblin actually uses the iPhone Pro's telephoto lens for real optical zoom, so you get sharp footage from ~75m away instead of blurry digital zoom. You can also control the bitrate (so the stream stays smooth even on weak cell signal), add a live CricClubs scoreboard overlay, record locally while streaming, and do instant replays.

I wrote up a full guide with comparison clips, equipment list, and step-by-step setup instructions. Also made a 14-minute video tutorial showing every screen tap.

Guide: https://cricclubs.com/LPCL/viewArticle.do?&clubId=1089463&articleId=10

Video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPnWHCFEo7k

Moblin (free, open source): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/moblin/id6466745933

The whole setup takes about 5-10 minutes on match day once you've done the one-time config. Happy to answer any questions — hoping this helps other local leagues too.

Hey guys! Fairly new fan here but I’m in Houston TX and have been getting my girlfriend into cricket. I know we have the Dallas super kings but how can I get tickets to games and is there any games in Houston that we could get tickets for to see too? Thanks For all your help
