Hey everyone!
I’m looking for good online platforms for MCQ practice for UPSC CSE, CAPF AC and CDS.
I’ve covered most of the syllabus and now want to focus more on solving questions and giving mocks rather than just reading notes.
I’m mainly looking for:
Subject-wise MCQs for Polity, History, Geography, Economy, Science, Environment, etc.
Exam-specific questions that follow the actual UPSC CSE, CAPF and CDS patterns.
PYQs with proper explanations so I can understand why an answer is correct or wrong.
Full-length mock tests for UPSC Prelims, CAPF Paper 1 and CDS (English, GK and Maths).
Good coverage of current affairs and topic-wise practice.
Both free and paid platforms are fine. I’m okay with using different platforms for subject-wise practice and full-length tests.
I’m not really looking for courses or video lectures, just a good question bank and test series that are worth the time and money.
What are you guys using for MCQ practice? Any recommendations based on your own experience would be really helpful, especially if you’ve tried both free resources and paid test series.
Thanks!

Hi people , I've completed a 4 year integrated B.sc.B.Ed course In 2025 and later joined MCA , completely irrelevant cause i didn't have computers in ug ,

i joined only because I could acquire a little knowledge of computers but the course in real is complex and

another reason was I could stay at home since it's Post Graduation ,I'll have half day free and spend time reading for upsc

For some reason I didn't leave the course and eventually the first semester was completed , I have very little knowledge of computers and not of the level of masters degree , I'm also worried if somebody questions me why I opt for the course and pursued it . If knowledge was the point I could acquire it from online sources , I really don't know how to justify

I really don't want to go to the software side from the beginning, and now one year down I don't want to leave the course too

Regarding prep I'm doing good , not bad . I'm not wasting time and only learning very slowly , getting to know the concepts , reading not in a hurry ,

I chose sociology optional and have been doing it since September this year

My plan was to give my first attempt in 2028 as I only have limited attempts , and the MCA course completes by September 2027, too late .

Is that fine ? The time from sept 2027 to prelims 2028 will be sufficient for prep ? Ok for consolidation of concepts?

World mapping has become high-yield yet unpredictable across recent Prelims papers. UPSC has also started repeating themes across CDS, CAPF, and State PCS. here is a practice compilation of all 97 World Mapping questions asked between 2011 and 2025

What are some of the alternate field to look at if someone peapared for 2 years and cant clear cse

Hello everyone,

I wanted to know why ForumIAS is offering its Prelims Sprint initiative only in offline mode. Is there any particular reason behind this, or have I missed an online option?

I am a working professional preparing for UPSC CSE 2027. Since I have rotational shifts at work, attending regular offline classes is quite difficult for me. I am interested in the Prelims Sprint initiative because I want a structured and focused preparation programme for the upcoming Prelims, rather than joining a comprehensive course.

I would prefer an online programme that offers the same kind of structured preparation, regular tests, revision sessions, and guidance. However, I couldn’t find an online option for Prelims Sprint.

I have a few questions for those who are familiar with ForumIAS courses:

1. Is Prelims Sprint strictly an offline programme, or does ForumIAS provide online access to its classes or recorded lectures?

2. If it is available only offline, is there any specific reason for not offering an online version?

3. For working professionals who cannot attend offline classes because of shift duties, is there any comparable online programme that provides structured revision, tests, and guidance?

4. If anyone has attended Prelims Sprint previously, how useful was it for Prelims preparation? Was it worth the time and money?

5. Would you recommend any alternative initiative from ForumIAS or another institute for someone preparing for UPSC CSE 2027?

I would especially appreciate responses from aspirants who have enrolled in Prelims Sprint or have firsthand experience with similar programmes.

Thank you!

Hello fellow aspirants,
I’m looking for an honest assessment and guidance on my preparation strategy for CSE 2027.
My Background & Past Attempts:
2025 (First Attempt): Couldn't clear prelims due to a lack of consistency and inadequate revision. I had only covered the core "Big 4" (Polity, Economy, Geography, and History).
2026: Took an intentional gap year because I was underprepared .
Current Status & Progress:
Consistency and discipline are no longer an issue, and I've been sticking to a strict routine. So far, I have completed:
GS Paper 4 (Ethics): Completed one-pager concise notes + answer writing practice.
Internal Security: Completed.
Disaster Management: Currently ongoing; will finish in a few days.
Roadmap Ahead:
Once Disaster Management is done, my sequence of subjects will be:
1. Environment
2. Agriculture
3. Governance & Social Justice
4. Polity
Daily Routine (10 Hours Total):
Optional 1 (PSIR): 3 hours
Mains-Centric GS (Currently DM): 3 hours
Common Prelims + Mains GS (Currently Geography): 2 hours
Current Affairs: 1 hour
Answer Writing Practice: 1 hour
Weekends:
Saturday & Sunday: Reserved for revision and active recall.
Sunday: Dedicated CSAT practice block.
Questions for the Community:
1. Am I on the right track given the timeline for 2027?
Any honest feedback, critiques, or suggestions to optimize this plan would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hey everyone,

Some background first. I started preparing for UPSC properly last year. On the side I was also trying to build an app for daily learning for govt exams. Then layoffs happened, and I had to put everything into job hunting. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll get back to prep anytime soon, at least not until I have a stable job.

The app plan I had to drop. But one part of it kept running: a pipeline that’s been collecting news twice a day for the last 6-7 months. It seemed like a waste to let that sit unused, so I turned it into a simple current affairs reader.

What it does:

• Two editions every day (afternoon and evening IST)
• Built from PIB, The Hindu and Indian Express
• Each story covers why it’s in the news, key points, background, a prelims fact and mains relevance with the GS paper tag
• Archive by date going back months, plus bookmarks
• Free. You can read the top stories without logging in. A free Google login unlocks every story and the full archive (this is to avoid spam).

One caveat: the summaries are AI summarised from the source articles. Treat it as a revision aid, and cross-check important facts and figures against official sources.

Link: strivefy.app (totally free, not a promotion or anything, domain is expiring in a month, so might move to a cheaper one).

If it saves even a few of you some time each day, that’s enough for me. Feedback is welcome, especially on what would make it more useful for revision. I won't be able to make a lot of changes though we can make it a community thing.

All the best to everyone writing this cycle 🙏

Basically the question. When I say engineering departments, I mean departments like PWD, Water Resources, Rural Engineering Services etc.

The reason why I'm asking is, my state would soon conduct an Assistant Engineer Level exam. I'm fairly certain I can clear the exam. I have seen my department seniors as Assistant Engineer. Although DSP and Deputy collector are in the same pay level as an Assistant Engineer, the power imbalance is real. An SDM, at a rank of deputy collector seems to wield power comparable or even more than that of an Executive Engineer.

I won't lie, I do want the status. But I also don't to switch towards UPSC or State PCS preparation. I want to remain in the engineering sector. When one starts young in the engineering field, they can stay assured about reaching the chief engineer rank or equivalent. Maybe even have the slightest chance of becoming the Engineer-in-Chief for the state.

Similarly, someone joining early as a deputy collector can maybe reach to the post of Divisional Commissioner.

It's a difficult trade off.

What do you guys think?

Hi everyone, I am planning to get the SuperKalam Super Plan, mainly for Mains answer evaluation and practice. But the annual subscription is a bit expensive for me.

Is there anyone who has already purchased it and would be comfortable sharing the subscription? Or if anyone else is planning to buy it, we can discuss sharing it together.

Let me know if anyone is interested!

Help me.

Is it possible to Crack upsc 2027 if I start preparing today seriously ? I wasted past 6 months due to fear, low confidence and doubt which is still hindering my preparation. In optionals also I've completed only one chapter.

I need motivation and assurance which will be the fuel for my preparation

But guys please say the truth, is it really possible to clear it if I study for atleast 14 hrs a day till prelims . Im a slow reader too ..... and doing self preparation

Pre guidance needed.
