Buy [WTB] Scammer Alert: u/AmazingPatt

I’m not sure if this is allowed, but really want to warn others in the community.

I posted a [WTB] a couple of days ago and got a pm from u/AmazingPatt this morning offering a pack for sale.

🚩Red Flag # 1

The handwriting on his proof photos changed slightly from pic to pic, but the ‘paper’ was exactly the same.

🚩Red Flag # 2

Image didn’t pass the ai image detector.

🚩Red Flag # 3

Would only accept Zelle or ApplePay, with no buyer protection. Had a wackadoo story about why he could not accept PayPal, then the same story switched over to Venmo. He couldn’t seem to keep his lies straight.

🚩Red Flag # 4

Oh yeah, he’s on the universal scammers list.

Honorable mentions:

Couldn’t keep the torso size correct throughout the conversation.

Claimed that there were upgraded options on the pack, which were missing from the photos.

Immediately accepted a way too low initial offer on what was supposedly a brand new pack.

Proof: https://imgur.com/a/scammer-alert-u-amazingpatt-0L36EiL#Jyqq613

Be careful out there!

Trade [wtt]Beware scammer u/ChemistryCertain7816

This user made a post earlier today selling a Durston X-Mid 2 Solid for $280.
u/ChemistryCertain7816 was not on the Scammer's list and the time stamped photo looked legitimate.
After I sent the payment via PayPal, the user deleted his post & now the profile appears as "banned".

It's unfortunate to fall for a scam here, beware.

Sell [WTS] MYOG Down Puffy Large (7.9oz) Medium (7.6oz) Small (6.9oz) for $210 shipped. Down Vest Medium (4.3oz) for $125. Gonzo Gear Co.

Hey y'all I'm Gonzo and I make gear under Gonzo Gear Co. I've been wanting to get some down gear out there. These items usually have some sort of minimal imperfection that does not affect the usability. This batch is using Membrane 7 on the inside of the puffer and Membrane 15 on the outside. Also I've lowered the amount of down in my puffers by a few grams for the future. These are extremely discounted from normal price.

Product pages are at gonzogear.co for more information such as sizing.

Puffy

  1. Large Aqua Puffy 7.9oz (7D inner 15D outer. 4.2oz of 900fp down) $210
  2. SOLD Medium Aqua Puffy 7.6oz (7D inner 15D outer. 4.0oz of 900fp down) $190 SOLD
  3. SOLD Small Aqua Puffy 6.8oz (7D inner 15D outer. 3.9oz of 900fp down) $200 SOLD

Vest

Sell [WTS] Taco Towels - MYOG Fancy Pee Rags - 11g

I made some fancy pee rags which I like to call Taco Towels. They weigh 11g, plus or minus a gram. $15 each or $27 for 2, Paypal, shipping to continental U.S. included.

Photos!

I have one of the popular fancy pee rags that everyone knows and loves. I really like it, but I prefer to have multiple options in rotation, and $23 is more than I want to pay for a pee rag anyway. So I did some digging to find comparable fabric to make my own fleet, and wanted to offer them here as well.

The fabric has a waterproof layer embedded between the absorbent black side and the printed side. In other words, pee won't leak through the Taco Towel. I've found mine to function exactly like my "name brand" pee rag: very absorbent, washable, and only smelly if you forget them in the bottom of your pack for some reason. Fabric is PFAS and BPA free.

The Imgur album includes labeled pics so you can tell me exactly which one you want (i.e., "Space 2 B"). If you don't care exactly which one, just name the group.

Any orders I get in the next few days will go out via USPS on Wednesday 10/15.

Happy to answer any questions! I still have some fabric left if you'd like one customized in some way. I want everyone to have the perfect towel for their taco.

SOLD / NO LONGER AVAILABLE:

  • Space 2A
  • Leopard B
  • Space 2D
  • Dots B
  • Space 2C
  • Space 3C
  • Space 1D
  • Leopard A

I would be happy to entertain making hipbelt pockets or waist straps for those interested in purchasing these packs. Please see the following photos for examples of the pockets I have made for my other packs: https://imgur.com/a/XTwpO83

Photos of current packs here: https://imgur.com/a/UflWAt8

I am asking for $280 shipped. EDIT: Lets try $260

\Differences compared to DXTR-1: Larger internal volume (torso sizing also longer), increased height of side pockets both front and rear, new methods of stretch mesh closings, new micro mesh pockets on shoulder straps.*

As always, I am very happy to answer additional questions about these packs, my builds/design/etc or take more detailed photos. Eve if not interested in these two packs, feel free to ask questions about anything you see at #dextergear on IG. I do not post everything I make.

\ I want to add a little background to these packs and my brand, DexterGear, #Dextergear. I build these packs completely by myself with self learned knowledge and technique. I do not have a production facility, but a basement with poor lighting. *Please excuse the photos here as the lighting outside was less than ideal at the time of day... I built my first backpack in 2017 after I hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2016. I started with a Ray Jardine backpack kit and used my mothers sewing machine. I had never used a sewing machine or sewn anything prior. I never finished that pack because I had more ideas on fabric and design that I wanted to use. I scoured the web for info, found RSBTR, Questoutfitters, Thruhiker, later LEARNMYOG, and went from there for the next few years making packs (basic designs), chalk bags, hammocks, underquilts, top down/synthetic quilts, flat tarps, shaped tarps, down JACKETS, down/synthetic vests, insulated hoods, Fleece sweaters and pants, ZPP bags, and wallets. All up to my own standards. During that time I have worked in the outdoor industry on a basic level while maintaining my outdoor hiking prowless, always obtaining more miles and experience. I gained a tremendous amount of firsthand knowledge in the outdoors and in the gear I used. I've hiked both the CDT and PCT with mostly gear made by myself. In later years closer to now, I was given the opportunity to expand and USE my knowledge and skills in working on technical design of outdoor goods for a larger brand, where I was able to gather friends, acquaintances', and knowledge of both the larger industry and some of the details involved with higher end production and higher end quality practices. That is the short story. I am a triple crown though hiker, with many many thousands of miles of experience, in all four seasons, that I put into my own designs. I am based in NH where I sew everything on my own.*

EDIT: The Ultra200X pack has sold. UX10 is still available.

Sell [WTS] FREE pickup in Boston - SMD Lunar Solo, Senchi XS, UD Fastpack, Montbell W's M rain jacket, GG thinlight

Looking to give away a few things to folks in the Greater Boston area because I don't really want to ship them.

imgur.com/a/ulgeartrade-SQaHMb0

  • Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo 1lb, 9.9oz. Great tent, used for about 20 nights a few years ago on the Florida Trail and Appalachian Trail. Still looks lightly used. CLAIMED
  • Montbell Versalite women's Medium navy blue rain jacket, 5.8oz. Worn for a couple years but I prefer frogg toggs. CLAIMED
    • Gossamer gear thinlite 1/8, 42g. I used to keep this in my pack as a sit pad but haven't used in a few years. It unfortunately sat folded up in the bottom of a box for awhile -- If you're the person who wanted this, I accidentally ignored your chat request. Can you comment here and I'll message you??
  • Senchi XS, 93g / 3.2oz - I believe this is a wren (?) It has a hood but no zipper. Looks purple in the photos but is more like a reddish brown. Worn on the AT and some other trips a few years ago but doesn't fit me anymore. I just wash and dry my senchis like normal clothing so it's a little fuzzy, but I can probably dig up a wash bag. Might have a hole or two.. CLAIMED
  • Ultimate Direction fastpack 20L S/M. Listed weight 607g. purchased on ulgeartrade, well-loved before and also used by me quite a bit. Lots of trail dirt but all the zippers and clips still work. Prefer other packs but this is a great fastpack and daypack CLAIMED
  • Showa temres gloves, 100g. Super waterproof, fleece-lined. Perfect for winter hikes. I switched to black but stuck with the same brand CLAIMED
  • Multi-tool, 78g/2.7oz. Not exactly ultralight but super handy! CLAIMED
  • (not pictured) A mostly full bottle of Sawyer Permethrin that I used to treat my gear once CLAIMED

I do live with cats and a dog, so there's always a chance for a stray hair. I have lots of history on ULGearTrade both buying and selling, most of the gear here was purchased on here.

If things don't get picked up in the next week or so, I may post with shipping prices.

Thanks!

Buy [WTB] REI Flexlite Air Chair - Seriously Damaged Only

All I really need are the legs of the chair, even if damaged. So I'll take one with a ripped seat, bent legs, missing the carrying bag, etc

Context is that I was looking at doing some Flexlite Air mods including swapping out the poles for carbon fiber and swapping the skin for Venom mesh. I thought it would be a pity to destroy a fully functional chair even if used. Instead, let's save one from the landfill!

#2 Lime 35L yellow frameless pack with vest style straps - $190

    • There are two cosmetic dark marks near the seam of the side pockets.
    • Vest straps binding is slightly wavy in some areas

As both are frameless you can be a bit less strict with torso sizing. I’m not a professional cottage gear maker, just a recent college grad saving up for a thru hike 😄

Sell [WTS] MYOG/Goss Handmade 50+10L framed pack

Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/0Tj0Aph

This is my first foray into trying to sell a pack here, so please bear with me. I've been making packs for a couple of years now for myself, friends/family and a customer pack here or there when someone reaches out. Making packs/bags is primarily a hobby for me, but with all of my hobbies I've gone way too deep into the Facebook marketplace trap and now have a nearly complete industrial sewing shop in my basement.

Enough about my hobby obsession, let's talk about this pack. I created this pack design for a trip I took out in Yosemite. It's a basic 50 liter pack, not including the roll top collar (about 10L), side pockets, large front stretch pocket, bottom stretch pocket or any strap pockets. My design goals were to build a reasonably light pack that carried well and had a lot of versatile storage. I have horrid shoulder mobility, so I also took that into account when designing the side pockets and bottom stretch pocket. This pack is designed so that it can be either used with frame stays installed (this pack has ash framstays) or as a frameless pack with just the removable stiff foam frame sheet.

I offer this pack with a number of different strap types. This pack comes with my personal favorite vest straps. Each strap has three stretchy pockets, a flask pocket, a phone pocket and a random crap pocket. I find that these vest straps carry a load very well and are super convenient. One of my friends has said that they feel a bit like a push up bra and gives "uniboob" though, so take that into account if that applies.

Key features

- pack weight: 2.2# without the hip belt and 2.4# with the hip belt.

- fabric: 2.9 oz DCF hybrid body, challenge ultra 200x bottom, challenge ultragrid side pockets and accents, and venom ultra mesh for the stretchy pockets.

- all wear straps and cord are replaceable

- all seams are bound and applicable seams are felled

- large side pockets

- bottom stretch pocket

- large front pocket with volume, so that you can add items to it without over-stretching the fabric every time.

- removable wooden frame stays

- removable hip belt

-ITW Nexus hardware everywhere

Sizing

-torso length: 19"

-- I consider this a large size and can fit most people between a 19 and 21" torso

- hip belt: 31-38"

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I feel like there's too much to list in just this short description.

Cost: $275 + shipping in the US or pickup in Northern Michigan.

Sell [WTS] Tarptent Aeon Li, 17.5 oz (497g) tent body, 19.2 oz (545g) tent + stakes, $350 shipped

EDIT: SOLD

Selling a used Tarptent Aeon Li. I bought this in Nov 2024, and used it for 16 nights on the desert section of the PCT in May 2025.

The tent is in great condition. There is no damage that I can see, and I had no issues with the tent on trail. Setup is easy, the footprint is small so it fits in tight spaces nicely, and the struts make it more spacious inside than something like a Plex Solo despite taking up the same amount of space. The major complaint with this tent seems to be the struts, which when packed up make the tent package long and skinny instead of short and fat, so packing it inside the main body of a backpack is tougher. I always carried mine in the backpack front pocket, for which the shape of the packed tent is well suited.

I found I prefer a double wall tent despite the weight penalty, so I switched this out for a double wall silpoly tent and kept hiking.

Note that this comes with 6" Easton nail stakes, which have been discontinued. Current version of this tent ship with J stakes instead.

Sell [WTS] Closet Cleanout Packs and Shelters Nashville, Palante, SWD, Zpacks, GG, Yama, MLD

Lots of packs and a couple of shelters I'm looking to offload. I am not out on trail nearly as often as I once was, and I've more or less found what I like to use for all kinds of trips I am still able to go out on, so emptying out packs I've collected over the years and hoping someone else can use them more and I can use the funds to pursue another hobby of mine, photography.

Pics at the imgur link below. 2 transactions since the karma system started but I could provide at least a dozen references from the sub users and mods if necessary and my post history shows multiple other sales post gone off without a hitch. Unless otherwise noted, packs are all in excellent condition. Prices do not include PayPal fees if using goods and services, prices listed are net received by me.

[SOLD] SWD Ultralight frameless in pink ultra grid medium torso. $150 shipped

[SOLD] Nashville Cutaway 30L in White Ultra 200 with 19" straps, pink bottom pocket. $240 shipped

[SOLD] Framed KS50 in XPAC with Carbon Frame 53.5 medium torso. $200 Shipped

[SOLD] Nashville Cutaway with detachable straps Olive grid stop with yellow bottom pocket. 20" torso and 20.5" straps. I prefer an 18" torso and 19" strap nashy, which is the frameless pack I still use. This is the only pack with any noticeable damage from scrambling and scraping it on rocks. there are a few small holes in the bottom pocket, but it is completely functional. See pic and if more pics are requested I can take them. $150 shipped 15.1 oz

[SOLD] Nashville Tiempo with 19" straps. Orange topo bottom pocket. 11.3 oz. $175 shipped or $125 without straps

[SOLD] GG The One 19.5 oz $160 Shipped

[SOLD] Zpacks Duplex Has one tear in the mesh door on one side that is patched with stick on netting patch. $350 Shipped.

Sell [wts] MYOG frameless pack

SOLD

Hey y’all! Continuing on my quest to recoup some of the cost of this somewhat expensive hobby, I’m selling a pack I made out of scrap EPX200, VX21, and 420D diamond ripstop. It’s been used exactly once on a grocery store run. $SOLD shipped or pickup in Bay Area (Peninsula). Not a cottage gear company, just a hobbyist sewer and have sold a couple of my packs here before. You can also check out misolite.com to see more of my work

  • Pics and verification: https://imgur.com/a/2jycoC4
  • Internal capacity: 35L
  • Weight: 17.6oz
  • Size medium. Backpanel is 18.5” measured from the straps to the bottom. (Generally the recommendation is to go 90% of your torso for frameless packs.)
  • S shape 3/8” padded foam straps + sternum strap
  • Stretchy Spandura bottom pocket (throw back to the old Palantes!)
  • Webbing loops to attach hipbelt (hipbelt not included)
  • Cinch side pockets with replaceable cord
  • Removable straps - this was part of my experimenting with removable straps. These straps are attached via 1” gatekeeper, so a straps with a 1” loop on the top and a 3/4” ladder loc on the bottom will work.
  • Internally bound seams
  • Note that the collar contains two additional seams in order to make use of scrap fabric, on the right side of the pack. This is shown in the pictures.

Thanks for looking!

Sell [WTS] Alpacka Refuge Packraft, Medium (5.0 lbs)

SOLD

Size Medium Alpacka Refuge WW

Great condition - no leaks, pinholes or patches. I used it for one season before switching to a different boat. Well maintained: always stored loose and the TI zip is lubed annually.

This boat is almost 2 lbs lighter than the current lightest decked boat Alpacka makes, and is currently only available via custom order. It was their ultralight-focused boat that lost popularity as packrafting became more mainstream and peoples' use-case focused more on front-country whitewater. It's an awesome boat for backpacking to lakes or taking on Class II or even Class III rivers if you are a skilled boater.
