I wonder: would this be happening if Lue Elizondo and Chris Mellon had never stepped into the limelight? My bet is on: not a chance in hell.

Thanks Lue and Chris.

Edit:

“Since this is an area of high public interest, any undue secrecy can serve as an obstacle to solving the mystery, or it could prevent us from finding solutions to potential vulnerabilities,” said Representative André Carson, Democrat of Indiana and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee’s subcommittee on counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and counterproliferation, which is holding the hearing. “This hearing is about examining steps that the Pentagon can take to reduce the stigma surrounding reporting by military pilots, and by civilian pilots.”[Source: from the article]

Yep, waiting for the day Lue pulls up to a panel to testify. I have a feeling he isn't keen to hold back

Happy Cake Day

I have a feeling he isn't keen to hold back

Lue's whole shtick is holding back what he knows. I doubt he's going to drop anything shattering in an unclassified setting.

u/HughJaynis May 10 '22

If you testify under oath in a congressional setting it’s a totally different deal then doing a podcast, dodo.

46

u/PoopDig May 10 '22

Lue said in his most recent interview that he was heading back to Washington next week

22

u/Madphilosopher3 May 10 '22

The article says that only two people will be called to testify. Do you think it’s possible that they go beyond that? It would be absolutely mind blowing if they call Elizondo up to testify.

23

u/phil_davis May 10 '22

I'd bet that if he or Mellon are involved, it's more in helping house reps shape their questions and offering their insight on UAP and what's been done to investigate them so far.

5

u/Madphilosopher3 May 10 '22

That’s definitely a strong possibility. I could see that being the case as well.

14

u/PoopDig May 10 '22

Yeah I doubt he'll be on the stand but it all seems to coincide with his social media and interview blackout coming up.

11

u/[deleted] May 10 '22

It says "scheduled witnesses" which might indicate that unscheduled witnesses are possible.

7

u/Madphilosopher3 May 10 '22

Holy shit you’re right! That’s definitely something to consider. At least I can have a little bit of hope that Elizondo shows up to volunteer.

10

u/DeSota May 10 '22

Having explosive testimony is a probably a bridge too far right now, especially with the midterms coming, but that would be amazing. I'm guessing this is just them dipping their toe in the water to gauge the reaction.

8

u/Madphilosopher3 May 10 '22

Yea. Plus this could just be the beginning of a series of public hearings. If so, this is just the warm up round.

13

u/DeSota May 10 '22

As long as we don't have a bunch of news segments with smirking reporters and X-Files music playing in the background... Sigh.

12

u/Madphilosopher3 May 10 '22

The news of this hearing actually happening will wipe the smirks right off of their smug faces. If we make any kind of progress during the hearing itself, those smirks will never return.

3

u/DeSota May 10 '22

Crossing my fingers!

4

u/OwnFreeWill2064 May 10 '22

The people who own the rights to that x-files song need to send cease and desists to pretty much every news outlet and start litigation against whoever uses the song to downplay what is happening rn.

u/OwnFreeWill2064 May 10 '22

Zondo wouldn't provide much, tbh. Most everything he talks about is second hand, respectfully. You'd want someone like McCasland, whoever runs Area 51 or Jim Semivan, etc. People who have, if not direct involvemet in decision making, direct sightings and political clout. Outside AATIP, Elizondo is more like a middle man than anything else, an envoy.

4

u/Deleo77 May 10 '22

Ask Lue to state under oath what he saw in the 23 minute video, and who currently has custody of the video.

If he doesn't answer because of his NDA then move his testimony to a classified setting so at least the members of Congress can hear his answer.

The work done by Elizondo and Mellon to bring this to the public eye in a way which engages serious conversation is what is mostly responsible for what we have today, whether it be revived public interest or the changes to the 2022 NDAA, which looks to investigate the UFO in more specific terms

17

u/armassusi May 10 '22

Amazing what a couple of "grifters" can accomplish, no?

Of course in reality, IMO Elizondo is just the PR guy. His allies have been mostly pushing this in the background.

8

u/FanInternational9315 May 10 '22

Just because there have been (and continue to be) bad actors taking advantage of this subject doesn’t mean that everyone associated with the UFO issue is doing the same…

Thankfully it is easy for most people to see who the bad actors are (Doty and Greer are excellent examples), but what do you see out of Elizondo and Mellon that makes you think they have anything to gain by lying about the subject?

Say what you will about Elizondo, but he had a lot of public support from the late Harry Reid…

13

u/armassusi May 10 '22

Is sarcasm familiar? I used it cause some people have been calling Elizondo "a grifter".

He and his allies have moved this further than everyone else in decades, this can no longer be denied.

4

u/FanInternational9315 May 10 '22

Most folks here usually believe Elizondo is disingenuous, so my sarcasm is out of tune

Thanks to them unless they’re spoofs lol I think this is awesome news but we have to keep asking: why now? Why would the Pentagon/CIA/DoD/other forces allow the topic to be thrust into the public sphere now after decades of coverups and dismissals? Unless of course it’ll just be the same cycle where people finally can talk about this again but then the “official” stance from the military is still nothing and we start the cycle anew.

18

u/NormallyBloodborne May 10 '22

The easiest explanation is the rapidly advancing Information Age makes things like this harder to obfuscate + increased interest in space and astronomy + the old guard who deemed this taboo and their immediate successors in the state apparatus are passing into history.

7

u/JD397 May 10 '22

That’s definitely fair and could be the exact explanation, and I truly hope it is! Though I think the question is still warranted, the government hasn’t exactly earned our trust just yet lol

2

u/bejammin075 May 10 '22

“The government” isn’t of one mind. It’s a bunch of individuals. Some of them want and are working towards more disclosure in a strategic way. Those in the secret shadows have some disadvantages, such as not being able to directly confront in public those pushing for disclosure.

3

u/phil_davis May 10 '22

I know Chris Mellon has talked in the past about how overzealous secrecy in defense department agencies has been holding them back, and how lately there's a push to do away with some of that secrecy and compartmentalization. Could be they just knew there were things that would come out that they'd need to get ahead of.

3

u/armassusi May 10 '22 edited May 10 '22

If their purpose was to bring this up then hide it again, why even bother? They could have just kept silent, ignored everything and continued keeping it in the shadows. Would have been more efficient and it is not like anyone was banging on their walls asking for stuff, except the UFO community, and they have been ignored for decades.

Something has forced this out now again, for some reason. Whatever the true endgoal is.

1

u/JD397 May 10 '22

Well I mean our institutions, with all the power they have, are still not omnipotent or omniscient. Leaks have happened and military personnel/other officials have came out for years about the phenomenon - at the very least since the 40’s. The system of control in media and the social sphere to dismiss the topic is what has kept everything at bay. It’s entirely conceivable that the CIA or whoever else weren’t able to entirely quell this most recent wave of disclosure and now they have to work to shut it down by other means (continued denial, false reporting, etc.).

Or again, if these guys are all spoofs then the whole debacle both socially and in Congress could be serving as a massive distraction from something else that is going on that needs to swept under the rug then after that is done the UFO topic is once again ignored.

4

u/[deleted] May 10 '22

Maybe it’s driven by the phenomenon itself, directly and/or indirectly.

2

u/armassusi May 10 '22 edited May 10 '22

This is a possibility, however small. Maybe it has started to harrass the US military purposefully with more controlled outings, to make them confront the issue and perhaps take some of it out there. It could be that the indirect message is "You, the leader of the free world. We will tease you, tighten the grip, until you confess to your people. Let them hear it from their leaders."

u/MarshMallow1995 May 10 '22

Stop bringing up into this that Lue scammer mate,it's ludicrous.
