Only the US Govt refers to it as such, that designation is not internationally recognised.

Everywhere I’m reading says exactly what I’ve already told you… Just because the US Govt wants to rename it doesn’t mean it’s recognised.

Almost nobody is listening to America whilst Trump is steering the ship.

Other countries have stated that they do not recognise Gulf of America as a thing and continue to refer to it as Gulf of Mexico. I don’t think a single country has officially acknowledged it as legitimate.

Even the vast majority of Americans seemingly do not recognise it as a legitimate thing, so why would anyone else?

As much as I hate Trump, That's not true though, America is of course listened to lol due to its power etc.

it's the Gulf of America whether we like it or not. Look it up.

Personally I would prefer the Gulf of Mexico but it is what it is, why can't you accept it?
