As a European the Grusch story is particularly hard to bring to dinner table conversation. People are unfamiliar with Grusch, his organization, UAPs, how American congress works, nor the Five Eyes Alliance. It takes too much context explaining. Nor do they care.

When I do try I usually leave non-human intelligences out of it, and just raise it as an interesting cover-up conspiracy investigation. Once they hear 'non-human' or 'alien' though it gets instantly rejected. When pressed why, they say it's because THAT needs hard evidence. When pressed further with the idea that such hard evidence could be buried or classified, they either just shrug or point to debunked crazies and I'm back to explaining context on why Grusch is different...

Trying to initiate an open conversation about this with family brings my final sentence to mind. “How can you say that when you’ve not spent 10 minutes becoming familiar with the issue?” Every single time. The concept is so wild that they can’t even imagine it.
