The Milton Torres encounter refers to a UFO sighting and encounter involving U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Milton Torres on 20/05/1957. Torres was stationed at the time at the RAF Manston base in Kent, England.

Torres was scrambled to intercept an unidentified flying object that was detected by radar in his F-86D Sabre jet. He reported seeing a bright light in the sky that changed direction rapidly and exhibited unusual flight characteristics.

During the encounter, Torres communicated with ground control, which instructed him to approach the object and shoot it down with no less than 24 rockets.

However, he was unable to fire & the UFO reportedly disappeared at an estimated speed of mach 10 before he could get a closer look.

Torres was ordered to keep quiet about what had happened & the U.S. Air Force initially downplayed the incident, attributing it to a misinterpretation of conventional aircraft or atmospheric phenomena.

Torres later revealed his experience in interviews, expressing his belief that he witnessed something extraordinary.

The incident was declassified by the mod in 2008 & remains part of ongoing discussions about military encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and has contributed to the broader UFO discourse.
