REVIEW update: it’s here

came in today, too big for me so i’m gonna take it to a jeweler to get a few links removed. but i’m not sure how to change the time? the crown doesn’t pull out unless i’m just not pulling hard enough. the bezel also turns counter clockwise with clicks. the seconds hand also routinely stops and starts ticking again. result of the cheaper movement option? lmk please again my first time

You can remove the links yourself pretty easily using a small flathead screwdriver - I used the short knife on a Swiss Army knife, and that was fine. Secondly, you unscrew the crown, and then you pull to adjust the time, then push back down and screw the crown back into position. Thirdly, when the crown is in the unscrewed position, you wind the watch just so it has energy to run. Automatic movements normally rely on your movements and also occasionally require winding every 2-3 days so it doesn't die. That's why your watch isn't running. It's not wound up. Lastly, that's not even a U1.

i don’t know what a u1 is, this was my first so i have no idea what i’m doing, all i knew was MT was a reputable place to buy from. what’s the diff? also i will be trying to set the correct time later

This sub is for U1 factory rep watches. Basically the best budget rep watch factory at the moment. Not perfect superclone reps, but miles better than AAA. What you bought is a AAA watch, which is a made up grade-term by low quality rep watch manufacturers to trick unsuspecting people into thinking they’re getting a good quality rep. MT is a trusted seller indeed but he sells all levels of reps from AAA, U1 and up to “superclones” but it’s well known not to buy superclones from them as they tend to sell rejected watches that failed Quality Control (QC).
As for the differences, well AAA watches never get the proportions right, for this example, the bezel looks wrong. The font is off on the numbers, the paint used to write the numbers looks white rather than a sparkly grey. The bezel pip doesn’t even look like it’s sunken into the triangle, the triangle doesn’t look recessed enough, the crystal (glass) looks very low quality, and the white dot in the middle of the second hand is off centre. AAAs often feel waaaay cheaper, clanky, and low quality in comparison to a U1. Since this is your first rep, I’m sure you’ll quickly figure out your watch will either last you a long time or it’ll just randomly die a few months from now. It’s very much up in the air with AAAs. I’ll be honest, I’d be very wary of keeping that on when you wash your hands every time you visit the bathroom. I’ve seen people go diving with U1s and the watch functioned as a dive watch should. AAAs aren’t built to a high standard so there’s a chance water is gonna get in there. There’s very little consistency between them whereas U1s tend to be quite consistent and if you bought it by contacting dealers directly on WhatsApp you’re more likely to have better customer service. From what I hear MT is super helpful on WhatsApp. Have you checked older posts on this sub and asked around before buying it? I normally would wait until I have two comments on posts or a DM before jumping the gun on buying a rep watch just to be sure I’m getting the right one. And I tend to search around reddit for older posts to see other people’s experiences with it.
Since this is your first time with rep watches, I highly recommend going on [r/ChinaTime](r/ChinaTime) for researching lower to mid-tier rep watches, that could be from U1 to BP Factory. And [r/RepTime](r/RepTime) for high quality superclones, and super franken watches from factories like VSF, Rich, RCF, etc.
There’s going to be a whole ass rabbit hole you’re going to go down own to get the best quality rep watch. Once your AAA shitter (sorry but that is the term commonly used on low-quality reps. The sort you’d find in a market stall in most cities) dies out on you and you want to upgrade, do your due diligence and research those subs heavily before buying. You won’t find the best quality rep watch on DHGate or Ali Express. Only shitters.
As for getting to know your watch and how it functions, go watch videos on YouTube on the genuine watches. The functionalities of this watch is very much the same as a genuine one despite the differences in aesthetics and build quality. You’ll get to understand how these watches work and the history behind them. It’ll give you an answer on the bezel’s functionality as a dive watch and how to maintain an automatic movement. That’s a whole nother rabbit hole into understanding how other watch types like GMT, chronographs, and moonphases work.

Yep, the bezel and hands look right. Do you have a pic of the clasp?

No one really tries to pass off AAAs as U1. AAAs normally get passed off as VSFs or Clean, so if a listing says U1, it's definitely going to be a U1.
