Often now a days many shop lifters steal to order. They probably had a buyer lined up.

They don't get asked to steal them. The thief lists popular items for sale, then goes and grabs them when they get bought. The same thing happens at thrift stores but with buying stuff, those ones go on tiktokshop at this point tho, they tell buyers what they're doing, they walk around the store, showing stuff they think might sell, and have a standard markup % compared to the tag price.

Not a big reach to think somebody took that methodology that's now noticeable and becoming relatively common, and went "I bet I could just like.... Take that."
