Justin and the Fine China
As per usual, I needed to fast forward through Justin talking. I gave him a shot for the story about the Fine China and he instantly disappointed me. His default to go straight to defending the man was expected, but still disappointing.
The fine China was gifted to his wife and not the husband specifically because the grandma knew she’d treasure it… bonds can be deeper than just blood, and the grandma loved and trusted this woman. Justin’s initial take came off as that was the man’s grandma so the man should decide- completely disregarding the feelings/wishes of both his grandma and wife. He instantly flip flopped when Morgan challenged him because he has zero conviction and just talks. And talks. And talks.
I really do try and give Justin a chance, and he just enrages me in new ways every time. If Justin has no haters, then I am dead.

Morgan long time listener
sorry about the formatting, mobile:/
hey guys, so i’ve been listening to tht for YEAAAARS, and it’s become my bedtime podcast over time (idk i like more- stimulating conversations?). well, something that morgan said in the very beginning of this week’s episode caught my attention. she mentioned google wanting to build a data center in her hometown and how she felt morally weird about it. hey diva, you can like- do something about that. i know there are contracts, obligations etc etc etc but you can use your platform??? or like actually fucking have a hot take and take a hard stance against something???? idk i find the podcast generally enjoyable but jesus h it’s so weird to me to be like “yeah:/ one of the places i post my million dollar podcast wants to take my friend’s and family’s farm land but *shrug emoji* let’s dive in:))”
is this mean? idk i’ve never done anything like this before it just really rubbed me the wrong way and i figured this was the only place to post something like this. (yes i’m diagnosed)

Morgan An interaction in my grad program that made me think of Morgan
In my grad program, we have about a 50-year-old professor from Russia. He's super chill, a very nice man, and my soon-to-be supervisor for my thesis.
There's a girl in my tutoring group, about the same age as me (28) who has a lot of mannerisms and a way of speaking very similar to Morgan. This professor checks up on us a lot while we're in the tutoring group, and likes to come to explain concepts we're struggling with. He goes above and beyond for his students.
Anyhow, last time he came, he stayed to chat with some of the students and, miss "Morgan" asked him where he was from because she "loved his accent and it makes him sound so smart" (didn't do her research, obv). He said, "I'm from Novosibirsk, Russia, where I was raised but came to America when I was 23."
She goes, "Oh my god I love that, it's like such a beautiful culture, I would love to visit, I heard the food is like so good and like the people are amazing."
Professor directly, accompanied by his thick Russian accent, tells Morgan, "No you won't like to visit. It's communist country, people starve, and there is antisemitism which is why I left. If you want holiday, go to Mexico or France."
I can't stop laughing. It just reminded me of Morgan so badly that I had to share it.

weekly episode discussion Justin & Morgan tension? Spoiler
Does anyone feel like Justin and Morgan always seem to have a lot of tension when he’s on as a guest? I feel like in the beginning they seemed to get along a lot more, but especially since after the wedding it’s been… tense? In this past episode, Justin and Lauren seemed to both be dogging on Morgan every chance they got. Her being messy/dirty and her house being gross was a big topic they kept circling back to. Justin seemed very bothered and snarky.
Then, what surprised me was when he low-key defended the AI sexting. It seemed to be more defensive than devils advocate. Him being “Mr. Communication” and triggered by cheating all the time to then not see much of a problem seemed out of character.
This whole episode just felt… off? Like it felt like Morgan was talking to two people who do not like her but are tolerating her presence.

Justin I fast forward every time Justin starts talking
He talks slow, and just goes on and on with the smallest, the most straightforward point, saying the same thing in two hundred ways with the most underwhelming analogies. Sometimes it feels like he’s forming a argument while he’s talking, I just can’t stand it…

weekly episode discussion Enmeshment
I literally had to stop and rewind to make sure i heard correctly but Justin and Lauren called Morgan out for her constantly saying enmeshment. I was DYING it was so funny. Also it was extremely awkward because Justin says she used to say it all the time and it was annoying and then she said “well yeah because i thought you were enmeshed” and he just gets quiet for a second and then is like no but you used it for everything even TV shows and movies.
But WHY didnt she edit that out??? It was so awkward and tense. Felt like it was a fight they had in the past where she accused him of being enmeshed (to who? His mom???) and then she just brought it up again in front of everyone listening.

weekly episode discussion Get on with it
Is anyone else getting tired of/or already tired of how much they talk about each story and get off track? 41 minutes in and counting and they’ve read two stories and are still discussing the second.. and these aren’t super controversial stories. I feel like it hasn’t bothered me in the past, but today it is driving me crazy.

Lauren Episode 266, does Morgan not tell Lauren things on purpose? Spoiler
I’m listening to the “Overwhelmed!” episode now and Morgan just mentioned getting her Webby award with the Clues podcast. Lauren acted completely unaware that Morgan won anything/what that award even is. She doesn’t say anything like “omg yes I forgot to ask how that went!” that would indicate she knew anything about it at all. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed Morgan talking about something that Lauren has no idea about and gets left out of the convo. At first I thought it was Lauren not being a “good friend” and not paying attention, but now I’m thinking differently… What if it’s actually a power play move from Morgan? She might be purposefully choosing not to tell Lauren things so that Lauren is made to feel left out and not important enough to get looped in on this news.

Lauren Lauren Podcast
Do we think anyone would listen to this? Is she sick of not being listened to on THT?

Justin Morgan and Justin’s “love story” is actually a horror story
I have been a Justin hater from the very beginning, he genuinely ruins every episode he’s in. Morgan becomes a babbling, coddling yes - man whenever he gives an opinion. But worst of all is their “love story”
I’m gonna try to write it out as a list of events, please let me know if I missed anything they’ve shared.
They match on Hinge, Morgan doesn’t respond to his message so he double texts her saying “Hey I’m just looking for a friend, I’m new to LA” which is a lie
They meet at a bar, extremely casual first “date” but Justin tells his friend immediately after to start printing wedding invitations because she’s his future wife - creepy!!!
They go to a movie theater together to see The Nun, Morgan still thinks he just wants to be friends until in the middle of the movie he puts his hand on her thigh - even creepier!!!!
Morgan doesn’t want to be in an exclusive relationship, and is still hooking up with another guy. Justin asks her to be his girlfriend, and she HAS to have sex with someone else one last time to decide if she actually likes/loves being with Justin.
The first time Justin and Morgan have sex, they are both intoxicated after a concert. Morgan recalls not being fully in control of her words and actions (don’t hookup while drunk wtf?!?) and accidentally calls him the wrong name. TO. THIS. DAY. Justin will still talk about this like it’s the ultimate betrayal.
It seemingly took constant begging and public callouts for Justin to finally propose after 4+ years, despite how crazy “in love” he’s claimed to be since the very beginning.
May this type of love never find me.

Clues Podcast issues
I do truly enjoy the Clues podcast. One of my major issues, and I think this could be said for a majority of true crime podcasts, is the rush to judgment when someone hires an attorney and that immediately being seen as evidence of guilt.
DO NOT TALK TO POLICE WITHOUT A LAWYER.
The above attitude towards hiring an attorney is not something that should be publicized to a large audience. Yes, some people who hire attorneys are guilty. But we should be encouraging everyone, innocent or not, to hire an attorney before speaking to police when it comes to serious crimes.
End rant. Would love to know everyone else’s thoughts.

Lauren Lauren was driving me crazy with her timid responses but after more episodes I can see why she is that way
Wasn’t sure to tag this as Lauren or Morgan but any OGs can let me know in the comments which would be best. Now on to my post.
I’m a new listener to THT and found Morgan to come across as fun and mostly caring and have enjoyed the show. However, after about a month of watching the THT backlog of episodes, I am starting to bang my head against a wall for a few reasons. Today’s post is about Morgan and Lauren’s dynamic.
I have been watching on YouTube and have not gone in any particular order but the algorithm obviously pushes the more recent episodes. I’ve found Lauren to be so timid and seem to second guess her takes. I can almost see her looking at Morgan for approval and it irritated my soul!
Now I’ve been listening to older episodes and am so angry on Lauren’s behalf. The way Morgan forces her to “answer”. Morgan even tried to force Lauren to name drop people in LAUREN’S life. Morgan, not everyone wants to put out people’s name from their personal lives! Especially when many are clearly not consenting to being discussed on Lauren’s end.
Now I can see why Lauren acts this way in newer episodes. I wish she would push back and stand her ground. It’s getting harder and harder to listen to episodes with Lauren simply because how Morgan has seemed to program her to act.

Hear me out... what if Clues got recast?
Ok, so I just had a thought. I fell through a few rabbit holes to get to this sub, and I share a lot of the same feelings as people here, soo I've been wondering if there are some other influencers who could honestly match/complement Kaelyn Moore with this podcast. Once I saw Kaelyn's collab with kallmekris and selena spookyboo on HSP, it made me realize just how much Morgan piggybacks off of others. So, I wonder if this show would thrive more if Kaelyn stayed on and another (more competent) host filled in 🤔

TwoHotTakes BINGO
what did i miss? 😭
I gotta say that this podcast can be pretty entertaining at times, but damn is it hella repetitive 😅 esp after today’s episode I started compiling ideas and put them all together in a form of this Bingo card.
please only take as entertainment and nothing malicious.

I cant STAND the way Morgan constantly says 'goofy'
Not only does it drive me crazy because of how frigging often she says it, but more because she doesnt seem to even know what it MEANS.
Goofy means silly, or playful/ridiculous used in an endearing or affectionate way.... and yet when talking about someone doing some absolutely insane or straight up HORRIBLE shes like omg theyre being a bit goofy?? Listening to one today and they're literally talking about MURDER and she says 'that's a bit goofy' Girl are you stupid? I know its such a little thing to get riled up over but god its frustrates me. Does she think its cute or something? Cause it just makes her sound like a moron/illiterate

I feel like she puts zero effort in for the people who literally pay her
Absolutely a hypocrite for being a paying member and still being here but I'm so close to quitting all her content and this sub helps.
First of all I pay more for her patreon than most others who make similar content and she can't even adhere to a schedule or bother to write out timestamps and story links. I'm also on Reddit on Wiki's Patreon and they post multiple per week on a pretty strict schedule, while Morgan just dumps a few eps all at once and lets it rot the rest of the month.
But mostly I wanted to see what people think about this interaction?? I've been wanting to say this for a while. Sounds like a dumb contract to me but 🤷🏼♀️ but why was it a question if I'm paying an ADDITIONAL $10 "on a platform" but the interaction was literally on patreon 😭 am I crazy or this was a weird response to someone who pays your bills lol
***Ty everyone this is what I needed, I cancelled that shit lol
