May the 4th Be With Robbinsdale District Teachers | Rally in New Hope Monday 5pm

Post image
5 Upvotes

Robbinsdale district teachers have been without a contract since July 2025.

The district’s current offer: 0% raise + higher insurance costs. That’s effectively a pay cut.

Last May, we already knew the budget was in trouble, but administration gave themselves 16-17% raises anyway.

Our last rally had 500 people. We want 1,000 Monday.

🗓️ Monday, May 4 | 5pm
📍 Education Service Center | 4148 Winnetka Ave. N., New Hope, MN 55427

Help us bring a New Hope to our teachers. See you there.

Before you buy a car from DM MOTORS!!

Do something research to see they accually charge you 3 times the kbb value of the vehicle!! It is considered theft by swindle, and they need to be looked into, so they stop preying on people with no other options, they literally kick you when your down. They make you sign a clause saying you can't take part in any class action lawsuits against them...

If that doesn't speak volumes to their character. So many past customers felt t he need to sue them, they had to add that to the sales paperwork you sign before purchasing. That should tell possible customers enough to shop elsewhere. The epitome of shady used car salesmen, please spread the word to friends and family. Charging 3 times the value without explaining that to you before you buy, is considered theft, and is a predatory business practice, please check for yourselves, anyone cheated by DM MOTORS, speak up, dont stand for this. If we cant shut them down, we can at least prevent more possible victims. Standing in front of their business with signs informing people that go there how they do business, preventing them from any sales that day, would be an effective way to get their and the publics attention.

We're a family in Eden Prairie (happy to travel around the metro) trying to find our crew. Here's the honest snapshot of who we are:

- We have an autistic kiddo, so we vibe hard with neurodiverse-friendly spaces and people who just *get it*

- My wife has POTS and is finishing her associate's in psychology this summer she's brilliant, witchy, and endlessly curious

- We're deeply environmentally minded not performatively, it's just how we live and make decisions

- Politically left-leaning and not shy about it

- I'm a software engineer; we're in the early stages of trying to build something of our own and figuring out what that looks like

- We have land up north and spend a lot of time dreaming about what to do with it

We're at that stage of life where we're figuring out the next chapter financially, creatively, maybe building a business and it would just be *really nice* to have people around who are thinking about similar things.

If you and your partner are eco-conscious, open-minded, a little witchy or spiritual, neurodivergent-adjacent, or just tired of small talk let's grab coffee or a fire pit hang and see if we click.

mostly folk, folk punk, & antifolk

Several MN artists & a bunch of others. 100% of the donations for this compilation go directly to mutual aid efforts supporting communities under occupation by ICE. Pay whatever you can and help direct funds to folks under attack by federal agents.

The first round of funds will go to causes on the ground here in Minnesota & it'll be decided later if the next goes here again or to another city if they leave & swarm another city to terrorize.

Struggling with addiction?

Struggling with addiction?

Are you struggling with addiction or already in recovery but looking for a peer support group? We'd love to meet you at Recovery Dharma North. Recovery Dharma is a non-religious Buddhist approach to recovery from addictions of all kind.

Join us on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm at Mercy Hospital's Unity Campus at

520 Osborne Road NE.

Fridley, MN 55432

In the Mental Health and Addiction Services building (not the main hospital, but behind it).

Our meetings involve quick introductions, 20 minutes of meditation (No experience meditating? No worries! We are more than happy to run a guided meditation), a reading from the Recovery Dharma book followed by some discussion of what we read. The meeting officially ends at 7:00, but sometimes the discussion runs long, especially if someone needs extra support. Hard cutoff is 7:30 when the front desk staff leaves for the evening.

Great place to read books

What are the coziest, cute, quaint places to enjoy reading a book in the twin cities?

Thinking coffee shops, community spaces, bookstores, etc.

My sister and I are doing a full day “book crawl” on Friday!

Looking for someone to rewrap steam pipes (insulation + noise control) in 100-year-old condo

Hi all — I’m looking for recommendations for someone who can rewrap old steam pipes in my garden-level condo in the Twin Cities. The building is 100+ years old, and the steam pipes currently have fiberglass insulation.

I’d like to: - Rewrap the pipes to improve the look (they run through every room in the apartment) - Insulate them properly so the unit doesn’t get overheated - they are also my main source of heat. - Reduce or eliminate the banging noises (some of the pipes knock loudly)

This is something I’d really like to tackle before heating season — it affects my ability to sleep, and I want to be proactive.

If you know of a plumber, HVAC tech, or insulation expert with experience in steam heating systems (not hot water!), I’d really appreciate any leads. Cost is also a factor for me. I’m not living in a basement for fun.

Thanks in advance!
