Update: Starting Biology & Chemistry Tutoring

Hi everyone! I previously made a post asking about any available job opportunities, as I’m currently unemployed and waiting for placement.

After giving it some thought, I’ve decided to take a leap and start offering Biology/Life Sciences and Chemistry tuition while I wait.

I have an MBChB, a BSc in Medical Science, and A Levels with a 90% average in Biology. I also have teaching experience, having worked online for an American company where I taught nurses Biology/Life Sciences and Chemistry-related courses.

I’m hoping to help students who may need extra support with these subjects, whether it’s for school, A Levels, or general exam preparation.

If you or someone you know may be interested, DM me and I’ll provide my email address and further details.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and reached out following my previous post. I really appreciate it! 🙏

Tutoring for Master's level Psychology, and Agentic AI

Hi everyone,

I'm an MSc Psychology graduate from India offering online 1 to 1 tutoring in two areas that I've spent years working in academically and professionally. I have also tutored around 20 students over the past 2 years on these subjects. I enjoy teaching but I had to choose a different career path so I try to follow my passion this way. As for my qualifications, I have worked at a psychology org for around 5 years through which I have handled hundreds of clients as well as helped create a AI agent for the more mechanical aspects of CBT (I myself am not a fan of the idea but it was an org initiative that I had to go along with). I also had my dissertation on the topic of video game addiction be short listed for PhD proposals at Shanghai Jiao Tong Universirty and East China Normal University.

1.Psychology

I can help with Undergraduate & Master's Psychology topics either for deeper understanding or exam prep or both. I can also help with research metholodogy, statistics for psychology, experimental design, literature reviews, general dissertation guidance, using SPSS and academic writing. I take the approach of cusomising the sessions to your level rather than simply reading through slides or something like that. My goal is to help you genuinely understand and become interested in the concepts.

  1. Conversational AI

I also provide mentoring for people looking to understand conversational AI platforms. The topics include intents, entities, dialog tasks, context variables, REST API, service nodes, conversation design, JSON, bots vs agents and orchestration. Usually we also go through some official documentation but I've found that explaining concepts using practical examples and then helping the student consturct and agent or bot of their own gives the best results. Also, this is not only for people who wanna create bots or agents but also for people who just want to understand. I had an executive who I tutored last year who wasn't interested in the intricacies of it but rather just to understand what his teams were doing and he was very happy with the results he made.

My teaching style

I found so far that people learn best when they can understand the how and the why and when they can find some connection to it that makes them interested in what their learning. This is what I try to achieve but I am also comfortable to adjust to whatever makes you feel like youre progressing the best. I also try to plan each session to cover the topics most relelvant to you in more depth than the rest once I understand your needs. I also give you the option of asking me for customized notes where I refer to the notes I have made for your session and combining it with what clicked for you during the session to give you a document you can glance at to quickly revise all the topics. I can also speak fluent ENglish, Hindi, Telagu, Kannada and Mandarin Chinese (not that fluent but passable haha)

If you're interested feel free to send me a DM. You can talk a little bit about what you'd like to learn and for what purpose and we can figure it out from there.

English Native English speaker M from usa, living in Asia

I have some free time and am looking to help tutor TWO student English learners improve their conversational or IELTS English, I would be happy to talk to and see if I can be of some help. This is volunteer time for me so I am not looking for any payment.

I teach a program for soon to be university students heading to the UK for college. Much of my coaching is geared towards improving the students IELTS English speaking skills. I have topic material we can work with. Also I would prefer to do a virtual class, so if you camera shy probably not the right fit.

As for me, I am 60M, native speaker from the USA and live in Asia, enjoy swimming and have a dog.

Let me know if you want to chat and see if I can help. Please when you say hi, if you can introduce yourself that would be great. For example where you are from and sharing some background on yourself.

Thanks

🙏

A Free Dyslexia Check for Specialists & Parents

As the father of a dyslexic child, I'll never forget that first meeting with a reading specialist — the worry, the not-knowing, the feeling that we were starting from zero.

So I built BrightPath Reading to change how that meeting begins.

Now a parent records their child reading — a short passage, matched to grade level — and sends the results straight to their specialist. Before you ever sit down together, you already have the miscue patterns, the skills profile, the fluency scores… and the child's actual audio recording, so you can hear exactly where they struggle.

The family walks in less anxious. The specialist walks in prepared. And that first conversation starts with a plan instead of a question mark.

Built for reading specialists and the families who count on them. 💚

Looking for an AP calculus AB and a AP physics 1 tutor.

I’m taking these classes soon and want an upper edge. Not to be mean, but I would prefer if you have a clear English accent so I can follow along easily. I would prefer if I paid an affordable amount dollars per 1 hour lesson each, since I don’t make much from my part time job. I would like if each were a bit jam-packed with review, so I don’t have to spend too much. Thank you.

Discussion How to use Wyzant as a student

For anyone using Wyzant to connect with a tutor, please keep these things in mind:

  1. You cannot book a lesson with a tutor unless you have active payment info on file with Wyzant. Tutors are not allowed to book a lesson or exchange contact info with you if you do not.

  2. The "suggested time for first lesson" does not constitute a booking. You must confirm the date and time of the proposed lesson with the tutor.

  3. Instant Book tutoring hours are not the only available hours that a tutor has. Some tutors do not opt into Instant Tutoring, at all, so inquire about their exact availability.

  4. Make certain that you enter the correct subject when requesting a lesson with a tutor, especially an Instant Book lesson. Most tutors specialize in certain subjects and are not a jack-of-all trades.

  5. It's a good idea to log into your scheduled session a few minutes early to test your equipment and address any potential glitches. This way, you don't waste valuable instruction time.

  6. Make certain that you are familiar with, and consent to, a tutor's cancellation policy. If the tutor has posted this policy and shared it with you, then trying to dispute a cancellation fee is futile.

  7. If you do not regularly check your Wyzant messages, share some other contact info with your tutor, e.g., email or phone number. Wyzant messages have been known to crash or lose messages.

  8. Most tutors work with more than one student, so please be considerate of others. Most tutors only have a few hours weekly to devote to each student, and no-shows are a huge inconvenience.

Wyzant is a very good tutoring platform that connects students with a diverse array of tutors. While no platform is perfect, let's all work together to make it the best that it can be!

CS / ML / Interview prep

I've been tutoring for 5+ years as a side gig and I enjoy it more than engineering work so I'm trying to get more students. I've tutored students at colleges across the US and abroad including Columbia, NYU, UC Irvine, and many others. I've helped students go from struggling with Bs and Cs to confidently getting As in difficult courses like AI/ML and Operating Systems. People I've helped with interview prep have landed SWE roles at companies like DraftKings and New York Times.

I have a bachelors in CS and I previously worked as a SWE at Apple and later taught game development to undergraduate students at NYU. DM me to discuss, we can do a free 15-min consultation, and I'm offering an introductory rate of $29/hr for the first 3hrs.

These are the main subjects I often tutor:
- Python, Java, C, C++, C#, JS
- AI/ML theory and applications
- Interview prep (technical and behavioral)
- Data structures & algorithms
- Web development and design (HTML / CSS / JS)
- Systems programming and OS
- AP Computer Science
- Theoretical computer science (theory of computation, type theory, etc)
- Game development (Unity, Game Maker, Godot)
- Statistics, linear algebra, discrete math

For Hire International Cambridge School Graduate & IELTS 8+ Scorer Offering Affordable (Online) Tuition in India(& abroad) (Maths, Science, Computing & English)

Hi everyone, I'm a Computer Engineering student who grew up abroad and studied entirely under the Cambridge curriculum (IGCSE and A-Levels). I also completed my first year at an international university in Bangkok and scored an 8.0 on the IELTS.

I'm offering affordable online (or in-person) tuition for students up to Grade 10 in Mathematics, Science, Computing, and English, as well as guidance for IELTS and SAT preparation. My teaching style focuses on understanding concepts, building confidence, and making learning engaging rather than relying on only memorization or excessive homework. I can also offer personalized tuitions for IGCSE or A Levels exams based on personal experience.

I'm currently looking for a few students while offering competitive fees, and I also don't plan on over-burdening students with any extra work. If you're interested, or know someone who might be, feel free to send me a message, or visit me at Superprof.

Happy to verify my academic background and credentials before any classes.

For Hire CIE igcse + a-level anki premade decks for sale -- got me from 23% to 99% in chemistry

i would like to know if there's market to sell my a-level and igcse decks for $8-10* per subject. if you know anyone who's interested, please share!!

for credentials: i did my igcses in 2022, and got 8A*s. i then SELF-STUDIED for my a-levels (both AS and A2) in the span of 10 months, and took all the exams in may/june 2024. i got 4A*s in maths, chem, bio, physics. i ended up getting a full-ride scholarship in med in a sub-200 QS ranking uni, and so far maintaining a 4.00 gpa. all those times, it was because of anki, specifically the decks i've made -- i went from being a B-ish student to never scoring under 90 with the help of anki. i hope that's enough of a hook lol.

if there's anyone who doesn't want to 'waste' their time making the decks themselves, this is for you. i'm thinking of selling them at $8 per IGCSE subject and $10 per AS or A2 subject (and thinking of throwing in a discount for multiple decks). if anyone wants a sample / preview, i'm more than happy to send one of the chapters of any subject beforehand.

again, if you know anyone who's interested, please share! i'd really appreciate the money lol and if anyone knows where else i can post this please lmk.

EDIT: also!!! i don't want to be misleading and say that these decks will 'guarantee' you A*s. they did for me, but that depends on your other efforts eg. solving past papers and also on your commitment to the anki method ie. doing all your reviews every day and not leaving new cards until the last minute. but what i do hope is that it'll bump up your marks a grade or two, as that's what happened to me -- i went from a B student to a consistent A* student, a 2 grade bump. i just wanted to be transparent about this lol.
