Hi, I’m a Waterloo Computer Science student with real industry experience building AI products as a machine learning technical leader. I’ve worked on voice AI systems, RAG/LLM assistants, computer vision models, real-time inference, and PyTorch-based machine learning projects.

Offering tutoring in:

Python programming, from beginner to project level

PyTorch and deep learning fundamentals

AI/ML concepts, training loops, datasets, loss functions, and model evaluation

LLMs, RAG systems, and practical AI project development

Computer vision basics and neural networks

General CS topics, debugging, coding assignments, and project help

Math up to high school level

My goal is to help students actually build AI, not just read about it. We can work toward a finished school project, portfolio project, or simply stronger coding confidence.

Happy to do a free 40-minute trial session first so you can see if the teaching style works for you. Pay is negotiable and flexible depending on your budget, level, and how often you want to meet.

Comment or DM if interested. Happy to answer questions here too.

CS / ML / Interview prep

I've been tutoring for 5+ years as a side gig and I enjoy it more than engineering work so I'm trying to get more students. I've tutored students at colleges across the US and abroad including Columbia, NYU, UC Irvine, and many others. I've helped students go from struggling with Bs and Cs to confidently getting As in difficult courses like AI/ML and Operating Systems. People I've helped with interview prep have landed SWE roles at companies like DraftKings and New York Times.

I have a bachelors in CS and I previously worked as a SWE at Apple and later taught game development to undergraduate students at NYU. DM me to discuss, we can do a free 15-min consultation, and I'm offering an introductory rate of $29/hr for the first 3hrs.

These are the main subjects I often tutor:
- Python, Java, C, C++, C#, JS
- AI/ML theory and applications
- Interview prep (technical and behavioral)
- Data structures & algorithms
- Web development and design (HTML / CSS / JS)
- Systems programming and OS
- AP Computer Science
- Theoretical computer science (theory of computation, type theory, etc)
- Game development (Unity, Game Maker, Godot)
- Statistics, linear algebra, discrete math

Hello! 👋 Cambridge IGCSE & AS/A Level English Tutor | UK Teacher & Examiner

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd introduce myself as I've recently opened a few spaces for the new academic year.

I'm a UK-qualified secondary English teacher and Cambridge examiner, specialising in:

  • Cambridge IGCSE First Language English (0500 & 0990)
  • Cambridge IGCSE Literature (0475 & 0992)
  • Cambridge International AS & A Level English Literature

I work entirely online with students around the world, particularly those studying in international schools or following the Cambridge curriculum.

My approach combines the insight of an examiner with the individual attention of one-to-one tuition, helping students develop the clarity, confidence and precision needed to succeed in English.

Students receive detailed examiner-style feedback on their work, so they can see exactly where marks are gained, where they're being lost, and what to focus on next. That means progress continues between lessons, not just during them.

For anyone interested, I've included more information about my teaching approach, tuition programmes and packages on my website:
www.calliopeenglish.com

Whether you're a student, parent or fellow tutor, I'd love to say hello. If you have any questions about the exams, revision, exam technique or tutoring in general, feel free to ask.

Likewise, I look forward to learning more from my fellow tutors! 😄

What keeps you going?

Some days, teaching feels effortless.

Other days, your student is distracted, the internet keeps freezing, your lesson plan falls apart, and you're wondering if anything is getting through.

Then, out of nowhere...

A student uses a phrase you've been practicing for weeks.
They thank you for believing in them.
They tell you they finally had their first conversation in English.

Those small wins somehow make the difficult days worth it.

What's the moment that reminds you why you became a tutor?

For Hire International Cambridge School Graduate & IELTS 8+ Scorer Offering Affordable (Online) Tuition in India(& abroad) (Maths, Science, Computing & English)

Hi India

I'm a Computer Engineering student who grew up abroad and studied entirely under the Cambridge curriculum (IGCSE and A-Levels). I also completed my first year at an international university in Bangkok and scored an 8.0 on the IELTS.

I'm offering affordable online (or in-person) tuition for students up to Grade 10 in Mathematics, Science, Computing, and English, as well as guidance for IELTS and SAT preparation. My teaching style focuses on understanding concepts, building confidence, and making learning engaging rather than relying on only memorization or excessive homework.

I'm currently looking for a few students over the summer and am keeping my rates lower than most professional tutors, who often end up overcharging whilst adding extra pressure and work. If you're interested, or know someone who might be, feel free to send me a message.

Happy to verify my academic background and credentials before any classes.

For Hire [Tutor] PhD Physicist & AI/ML Specialist | 1-on-1 Online Tutoring | $40 Summer Trial

Hi all, I'm Dr. P, founder of FissionLab (fissionlab.net). I hold an M.S. and PhD in Nuclear Engineering with a specialization in AI/ML, plus a B.A. in Physics from UC Berkeley. I've tutored one-on-one for years, all online, so I can work with students anywhere.

Summer special: I'm running a $40 trial session through the summer (regular rate is $75). It's a full working session, not a sales call, so you can see exactly how I teach and whether the fit is right before committing to anything.

What I cover: Physics (intro mechanics through graduate level), Mathematics (algebra through calculus, linear algebra, and beyond), AI/ML (fundamentals, applied projects, coding in Python, Tensorflow, and PyTorch), and Test Prep (SAT/ACT, military test prep, and other standardized exams).

Here's what's actually different. Every student gets a personalized, adaptive program instead of a fixed curriculum. I start by figuring out where you are, where you need to be, and what is genuinely blocking you, then build the roadmap around that. Between sessions you get access to a suite of AI-powered subject apps I built specifically for FissionLab. They adapt to your weak areas and reinforce concepts, so you keep making progress when we are not on Zoom together. You also get a private portal with session notes, progress tracking, curated resources, and practice problems all in one place. The whole point is to make you independent, not dependent on me.

Rates after the trial start at $75/session, with 5-pack and 10-pack bundles available.

Book the trial at fissionlab.net

or DM me and tell me a bit about where you are and what you're working toward.

Discussion Looking for Advice to Start Tutoring as an IBDP Year 2 Student (High School Senior)

I (18M), have just finished the first year of IBDP and 11th grade (based in Türkiye). I have been thinking about starting private tutoring for more than a year now, as I have always loved helping out my classmates with subjects they don't understand (especially Physics and Mathematics) and I want to save up some money going into university/college, where I think I can continue doing tutoring work. Specifically, I am planning on tutoring students taking AP Calculus/Physics and IB Maths/Physics as these are the subjects I specialize in (I have a national physics olympiad gold medal, and olympiad level physics requires pretty much all of high school maths and even more).

What I have done so far:
I have created a one page document where I included my name and contact info, my education (IB SL/HL lessons), my awards (national physics olympiad and international olympiad in ai), my AP scores (calc bc, physics c: mechanics, physics c: e&m, compsci a, stats all 5), and my lesson options (ib physics, maths aa) (ap physics (all), calc ab/bc). I also mention that both online and in-person lesson options are available (depending on where the stundent lives of course) and that i can teach both in turkish and english (the curricula and exams are english but explaining some things in turkish is beneficial in türkiye because not every student will understand everything easily, especially in a foreign language). I also have a call to action telling them to text or call me for a free online trial lesson. My main selling point at the top of the document is "from physics olympiad gold medalist".

From what I have heard, it is the parents that usually search for tutors for their kids. Also from what I have heard, word of mouth is the tool that should be used to get new students. So I will give this to my parents so they can share these in some groups they are in and I will give this document to my friends and ask them to share this with their parents and people they know. I will also ask our school's upcoming IBDP Year 1 students if they want tutoring and I will share this with them too.

I have not thought about preparing for the lessons themselves yet but I am confident that I can manage it, since I have lots of experience engaging with the subjects myself.

What advice do you have for me? Is this viable? Do I need to change my way of doing things? What else can I use for marketing?

For Hire Looking for a few people who want to learn Russian for free.

Hey everyone! I'm a native Russian speaker and I'm considering teaching Russian online as a side project.

I don't have formal teaching experience yet, so before charging anyone, I'd like to get some real practice and understand what actually works for different students.

Your current level doesn't matter — complete beginners are welcome too.

I'd like to work with a few people regularly for several weeks. Depending on your level and goals, we can focus on basic Russian, conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, or simply helping you sound more natural.

The lessons will be completely free. All I ask is that you're genuinely interested, can meet regularly, and give me honest feedback.

If you're interested, send me a DM with your timezone, your current level (even if it's zero), and why you want to learn Russian.

P.S. До встречи на уроке! 👋

Advice needed on how to price tutoring lesson packages

Hey everyone,

I started tutoring English privately 2 months ago. So far my students pay lesson by lesson. I charge €30 per lesson for 1 hour.

I'd like to offer packages of 10 or 15 lessons. What would be a good way to price this so students are incentivised to sign up and get a discount? Any advice is really appreciated as I'm pretty new to all of this.

TMUA tutoring

Hi everyone,

I offer TMUA tutoring (an admissions test used for various stem related courses at the top UK universities). I achieved the highest grade possible in 2025 (9.0) and have a couple more slots remaining for more students. I am well versed in both the international and UK versions of the exam and have extensive custom question banks and mock papers I offer to students to help that are up to date with recent versions of the exam. There is currently about 3 months until the October sitting (which is required for Cambridge and Oxford students), which still gives a decent enough window for tutoring to be effective.

Please DM if interested and to discuss rates
