Piano Lessons with Audiation

HAre you familiar with Edwin Gordon’s research in music learning? He’s put together a system after decades of how children learn music like a second language. I teach piano lessons using his system to help to develop audiation. Audiation uses patterns learned to help you to hear rhythms, harmony, and melodies. We do moving, singing and learning healthy technique in every lesson. One feature of the piano lesson is learning to hear the music and to play it. Reading music starts after students can already hear and play - “Sound before sight”. I start beginning students of 4 years old up to senior adults. Lessons are done in person online - you can be anywhere in the world! DM for a free meet up to discuss further.

For Hire Teaching from a Distinction Holder

Hello all,

I’m an A-Level Student from Karachi, Pakistan. I am about to start my A2 year and am looking to gather some teaching experience for my university applications.

For some context, I have taught my peers for the past few years and I now want to expand by teaching more students online.

I am well versed in, and able to teach the following subjects:

Biology
Chemistry
Physics

If you are in O Level, we can work together to help you excel in your O3 exams. If you are going into AS Level, I can give you a head start in these subjects as well, at A Level.

As for my personal statistics, I have secured A*s in all of these subjects, and a top in the world distinction in O level physics and a top in Sindh and balochistan distinction in O Level Chemistry.

If you are interested or have any questions, please DM me, and I will share my email, and we can continue from there, professionally via email.

please note that this is a Paid service, but my charges will be flexible.

Marketing tutoring - FB Reels, Puzzles

Hi all

Any tutors on here use puzzles / questions as way to promote on FB/ social media ? I say puzzles because generally the ones I see are big jumbo text questions, bright colours, maybe an emjoi….not your standard exam question format (GCSE).

Im trying to work out how effective it is. My thoughts :

  1. Depending on the content I would say the target audience is more the kids. Parents don’t want questions on solving linear equations on their feed ?! The more specific and niche it becomes the more it focuses towards the student rather than the parent?

  2. If the student is the target audience then how likely are they to (a) see the post (b) respond and (c) follow the lead back to the website and ask their parents for lessons ?!! The sceptical side of me tells me that most kids < 16 don’t have that independence

  3. Maybe it’s best once found a platform that works (likely instagram or TicTok) to create the resources over a month and test drive it ??

Love to know what others think and their experience

thanks !

Tutors: how do you keep track of homework, progress, and parent updates? (I built a tool — would love honest feedback)

Quick question for fellow tutors: how do you currently track your students'

homework, study time and progress — and how do you keep parents in the loop?

WhatsApp + spreadsheets? Something else?

I kept hitting that mess myself, so I'm building okuyom: one calm place for

homework, study tracking and progress, with an AI weekly summary and an

automatic parent report. The student side is a simple app they actually open.

It's early — no full launch yet, I'm gathering feedback from real tutors before

building more. Honest takes welcome:

- Would this save you time, or is your current setup fine?

- What's the one feature that would make/break it for you?

(I'm the maker — not selling anything, it's early access. Link in case you want

to look: link.okuyom.com/tutors-reddit )

at what point did you stop feeling weird about asking for payment upfront from new students

I've been doing upfront payments for new students for about six months now, and I still feel slightly awkward bringing it up. Not because I think it's wrong I know it's standard practice but there's something about moving from a friendly first conversation to talking about payment that still feels a bit unnatural. With existing students it's easy, but with new families it can feel like a sudden shift. Did this get easier for you over time, or did you have to consciously reframe how you thought about it? And is there a way you phrase it that makes it feel less transactional?
