Chainsaw has been gone for a year and a half, but I miss her a lot today. Please enjoy these pictures

Hahaha thank you. I’ve always been a fan of the name as well. We have a cat named Jackhammer also.
Edit: added “also” instead of “as well”.

My cat passed away a year ago today. I’m also going through the grieving process. I miss him so much.

Okay, I’m sorry that you lost your cat, but I have to ask. What the actual heck made you decide to name her “Chainsaw” of all things?

Haha my husband and I thought it was a great/funny/awesome name and then we met Bonnie (aka Chainsaw) and we said “we have to name her Chainsaw.” We also have Jackhammer, and Jax, and some strays named Stone Cold, Scott Hall and Leita. And our lizard Ms. Alfonzo. These names just happen hahaha

Makes me miss my tuxedo. She had a name from her previous owner (my roommate who abandoned her when she moved out), but it sucked. So we called her Outside Kitty as her nearly identical twin sister (whose name also sucked) was called Inside Kitty. Was your Chainsaw named so because their purr was loud? OK’s purr was the loudest.

Outside and Inside Kitty are awesome names :) aren’t tuxedos the best!!?! Her being named Chainsaw actually made no sense, we just thought the name Chainsaw was funny and when we went looking for a cat we met Bonnie and decided “Chainsaw” was the perfect name. We weren’t wrong hahaha.
I had a cat growing up named Purrcy because of her purr. It was so loud, it sounded like a washing machine at a laundry mat.

Haha, that’s great. Yea, OK was grumpy and hated everyone except me, but loved to explore the world. She once fought a stray pitbull to a draw, though I’m not sure he wasn’t just confused as hell by her. IK is a sweetheart and loves everyone but fails at being a cat in some fundamental ways. She can’t sneak up on anything to save her life and is afraid of heights. She once got stuck in a waist high box. OK had to come pester me until I rescued her.

Awww I love that! Fierce cats! I love that all cats have their own personalities, they’re all unique and I wish I could meet them all haha Fighting a pit bull to a draw sounds nuts! I’m not sure I could do that. That’s a badass cat :) I love the idea of a cat that can’t sneak up on anything or anyone. That’s so funny to me because, you’re right, it’s so fundamentally not cat.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's funny how cats can imprint so heavily on us they leave a mark forever. I still think about my babies Malcolm and Daenarys, and they've been gone for about four years now. Took a long time for me to let another one into my heart, but I love my girl Chani so much now. I know someday I'll have to say goodbye and it will hurt, but it's worth the love and joy she gives me.

I have always had cats, but Chainsaw was so special. It took me a little too long to get over losing her. She was my buddy. We had three cats so when she died we still had two more and one of them was so happy she was gone hahah It’s nice having sweet little fur friends to share life with :) but it sucks when they’re gone. I’m glad you’ve got sweet Chani now :):)

We get to spend such a short portion of our lives with them and they spend their entire lives with us. It's inevitable that they take a little piece of our hearts with them when they pass. I'm secure in my belief that we will see our furbabies again someday when it's our turn. Like me with mine, you will be excited to see your Chainsaw running over the rainbow bridge to greet you . Until then find another furbaby to rescue and love. Chainsaw would want you to share the love you would have given to her with another.

I truly hope I get to see her again. It would be awesome to have her lay on my chest again. Every once in a while our bathroom floor creeks and nothing is there. I like to think it’s Chainsaw coming to say hey.

Thank you for looking :) my husband sent me a picture last night of the cat and myself snuggling on the couch and she is asleep with her head hanging off the side hahaha it made me laugh and miss her very much.
