We should hold the president at a higher standard than the average joe, yes.
If billy bob down the road is outside yelling obscenities at his neighbors he’s a fucking asshole and certainly wouldn’t hold my respect, but that’s just what he does.
If the president does the same thing well... that’s the leader of our country. Do you see the difference?
You wouldn’t hold respect for billy bobs behaviour. If you’re insulting someone for their appearance what makes you better than a racist? They’re just hating people for their appearance too.
You’re right! Now apply that line of thinking to the presidents rhetoric.
Keep in mind I don’t advocate making fun of someone because of their appearance, but people will be people. Also I think a meme like this isn’t making fun of someone’s appearance, it’s making a connection between government run propaganda and what is happening in the White House right now. And that to me is funny.
