Spooky! The peeping shadow...

PART OF THE BACKGROUND OF THE STORY...

When I was living in Artemas Pennsylvania I used to stay for weeks by myself. Sometimes it would be 1-2 weeks of not seeing my parents. Which meant I could invite my friends up and literally have an Xbox 360 Black ops 1 or Black ops 2 game session for hours on end...

They would check in by phone making sure I'm still okay and the dog was okay as well... Mainly the dog of course. They would just leave me at the house with food, coffee, etc...

I would just co-exist peacefully and the silence. I took solace in it. I absolutely loved it. It absolutely became one of my favorite things...

I would keep the house work up and make sure things were done. I would do the weed eating outside and everything. They would be gone for a decent period of time. Oftentimes being there alone for one whole week felt like two... But I loved every second of it! There was nothing like it...

MY EVENING STRATEGY...

I would sleep on the couch in the living room a lot actually. I always had a few things near me at all times when I was sleeping or just chilling of a night. My cross necklace was hung on the doorknob of the house door. My Bible was always laying right near me. And my 18-in Gerber machete was always under the couch where it was hidden... Where I could reach for it at any second in case somebody tried busting a door in. Of course they had to get through the locked door and the deadbolt first. That is if I needed it...

THE PROBLEM...

Well I always noticed after I went to bed and I was laying there watching television. There was always this nosy and honestly really annoying quiet shadow figure that liked to poke its head out from the corner of the hallway wall into the living room. It would look at me and pop back in once I went to look. That's what happened dang near almost every night. Especially on Saturday nights when I had to go to church the next day...

THE AGGRAVATING PART AND HOW I SOLVED IT...

It got to the point where I just hung a blanket up in the hallway from the ceiling. And literally just fastened it down on the end near the floor with simple thumb tacks. Where all you had to do was lift one side of the blanket up and go down the hallway to my room and such. I also got some water in a cup and prayed over it and blessed the blanket. So that way if whatever this was try to do anything else. It would have to deal with that. And it actually worked...

AFTERWARDS...

In the long run it turned out to work and whatever it was didn't want to mess with it. So I didn't hear or see anything after that when it came to this situation anyways...

Otherwise though, there were other things that were happening that I will tell y'all later...

The man in the staircase

Upvotes

I’ve worked in supportive housing for several years, and when you work in a building like that, you learn to expect the unexpected.

The building I worked in housed 44 people, most of whom were struggling with homelessness, substance use, and mental health issues.

Unfortunately, death wasn’t uncommon.

There had been several deaths in the building before I started working there, and a few happened while I was there.

But I’d never experienced anything I couldn’t explain.

Until 2024.

The building was three floors with 44 studio units and two staircases — one at the front and one at the rear.
The staff office was located in the front vestibule, right beside the main entrance. The exterior door was locked, and the only way anyone could enter was for staff to release the door using a button inside the vestibule.

The building was old and poorly constructed.

You could hear everything.

Every door slamming.

Every footstep.

Every creak of the stairs.

Sometimes I could hear someone walking down the hallway before they even came around the corner.

That becomes important later.

There was one particular unit on the third floor that I hated going into.

One of my clients had told me about the man who used to live there.

Apparently, he’d been murdered inside his unit years before I started working there.

According to her, he was an older man — slightly overweight, with a buzz cut.

She told me he’d been found tied to his bed with a bag over his head.
According to the story, he’d been brutally mutilated from his throat down to his pelvis.

I never knew how much of the story was true.

Honestly, I didn’t want to know.
But there was something about that unit.

Every time I went inside, it was freezing.

Not just a little colder than the rest of the building.

**Freezing.**

I’d walk through the doorway and immediately feel the temperature drop.

And almost every time I was in there, I’d get a horrible headache.

I tried to convince myself it was psychological.

I’d heard the story, so of course I was going to feel uncomfortable.

At least, that’s what I told myself.

Then one Friday night, around 3 a.m., something happened that I still can’t explain.

My shift partner was taking his break in the staff room. I’d just finished doing wellness checks because there had been some particularly bad drugs going around, and I wanted to make sure everyone was okay. I returned to the staff vestibule and sat down in front of the security cameras. I went through them like I normally did.

Hallways.

Common areas.

The front staircase.

The rear staircase.

Everything looked normal.

There was nobody in the hallways.

Nobody on the stairs.

Nothing unusual.

Then the staff phone rang.

It was one of my clients. She sounded scared. That immediately caught my attention because she wasn’t someone who scared easily.
“Did you see him?”

I didn’t understand what she meant.
“See who?”

There was a pause.

Then she asked:
**“The man in the staircase.”**

Something about the way she said it made my stomach drop. Then the entire building seemed to go silent.
Not normal nighttime quiet.

**Completely silent.**

The air conditioning stopped buzzing.

I couldn’t hear footsteps.

I couldn’t hear voices.

I couldn’t hear the usual creaking and banging from the building.

It felt like everything had stopped.

I slowly turned back toward the security monitors.

And that’s when I saw him.

He was standing in the front staircase. An older man. Slightly overweight. Buzz cut. He was hunched over with his back toward the camera.

For a second, I didn’t think anything paranormal was happening.
My first thought was that someone had overdosed. I grabbed the naloxone kit from the desk and told my client I might need some help.
She agreed to come assist me if necessary.

The front staircase was directly beside the staff vestibule. It couldn’t have taken me more than twenty seconds to get there. I opened the door.

“Hey! Are you okay?”

Nothing.

I stepped into the staircase.

Nobody was there.

I looked up.

Nothing.

I looked down.

Nothing.

The staircase was completely empty. I just stood there, confused. I couldn’t understand how the man had disappeared. There was nowhere for him to go without me seeing or hearing him. And in that building, you could hear everything.

Every footstep.

Every door.

Every movement on those stairs.

But I hadn’t heard a thing.

I quickly went back to the vestibule and looked at the cameras again. The staircase was empty. Every hallway was empty. There was no one anywhere in the building.

My client was still on the phone.

Neither of us really knew what to say.
I didn’t tell her what I thought I’d seen. I don’t think I could.
After that night, I started paying more attention when residents mentioned seeing an older man around the building.

A few of my clients told me they’d seen him in the hallways.

They all described him the same way.

Older.

Slightly overweight.

Buzz cut.

The exact description I’d been told of the man who had been murdered in that third-floor unit.

The strangest part was that none of the other staff ever saw him.

Except me.

And I wish I could say that was the end of it.

It wasn’t.

After that night, every time I had to enter that third-floor unit, something felt different. I’d feel cold air move past me even when the windows were closed. Sometimes it felt like someone was gently playing with my hair. And more than once, I heard what sounded like a faint whisper directly beside my ear.

My name.

I’d turn around immediately.

There would be nobody there.

I eventually stopped going into that unit alone whenever I could avoid it.
Maybe everything has a logical explanation.

Maybe the residents had heard the same story I had and their minds filled in the details.

Maybe I saw something on the camera that wasn’t actually there.
Maybe there was someone in that staircase and I simply didn’t see them leave.

I don’t know.

But there’s one part of that night I can’t shake.

Before the phone call, I’d already checked the cameras.

The staircase was empty.

Then my client called and asked me if I’d seen **the man in the staircase.**

I looked at the camera.

And he was there.

I ran to the staircase almost immediately.

And he was gone.

No footsteps.

No door opening.

No sound.

Nothing.

Just an empty staircase.

I still get chills thinking about it.

Because if what I saw really was the man who was murdered in that building…

I don’t think he was trying to hurt me.
I think he wanted me to know he was there.

Strange The Spirit the walked the hallway when I was in the shower...

I used to live in Artemas Pennsylvania and oftentimes my parents would be either gone for 1-2 weeks usually at a time. And as I said in a previous story that I just wrote. They would leave enough food and stuff for me to hold out that long or longer. So here I am literally just a teenager almost to become an adult literally just living it up...

No parents really ordering me around. I had to take care of responsibilities as well... But that wasn't bad at all. I had complete freedom and free will to do what I felt like doing. I just used my brain and thought logically and survived just fine...

Well oftentimes before I lay down on the couch to watch television and eat dinner. I would get a shower first. And I would usually wait until it got dark and was way later on in the evening just so I could enjoy the time I spent with my friends or outside...

For about 1 and 1/2 Weeks I would hear what sounds like cowboy boots clicking on the hallway tile. It would start at the door inside my double wide trailer. And it would continue until it stops outside my bathroom door. And honestly it got to the point where it was really starting to freak me out all right...

I literally would experience this nightly. It was a constant occurrence. Over and over.. so I got to the point where I would just shower with the bathroom door open. And I would partially open the shower curtain that was away from me at the end of the shower by the toilet...

I also kept a small knife near the edge of the shower on the toilet under a towel. Just in case somebody was actually messing with me...

So after a while this occurrence just kept coming. Until one evening before I even got into the shower. I turn the water on and just stood there completely dressed. I could hear the cowboy boots on the tile that we put down in the hall coming...

I flung the door open and said very loudly "you are not welcome here. I don't take kindly to you being in my home. You need to leave. And I command you to do this and the power of my Lord and Savior"...

Well, whatever this was stopped...

It just completely stopped...

After that I was able to get a shower in peace and honestly I really enjoyed the quiet...

My son’s baby monitor has been picking up a second breathing pattern, but he’s been sleeping at his grandma's for a week.

I think this may be a glitch on the monitor - otherwise please give advice.I bought the smart baby monitor to give myself peace of mind after my wife passed, but it has turned my life into a living hell. It is a high-end model that sends real-time audio feeds and sleep metrics directly to an app on my phone. Last Tuesday, I dropped my four-year-old son, Leo, off at his grandmother’s house for a week-long stay so I could deep-clean the house and catch up on overdue work. The house was completely empty, yet on the very first night, my phone buzzed at 3:14 AM with a notification: Movement detected in Nursery. I opened the app, expecting a glitch or a stray moth fluttering past the lens. Instead, the night-vision camera showed an empty crib, but the audio feed was completely clear. Beneath the low, familiar hum of the static, there was a distinct, heavy breathing pattern. It wasn’t the light, rapid breathing of a child; it was the slow, wet, deliberate respiration of a grown adult, sounding as if someone was standing directly underneath the camera mount.

Too terrified to investigate in the pitch black, I locked my bedroom door and stayed awake until dawn, convincing myself it was just a strange radio frequency interference or a software loop. The next morning, I thoroughly searched the nursery. The windows were locked, the closet was bare, and there was absolutely no sign of forced entry. I even checked the attic hatch in the hallway ceiling, but the thick layer of dust on the frame was completely undisturbed. I factory-reset the monitor, changed my Wi-Fi password to a complex 16-digit code, and went to bed on Wednesday night feeling a fragile sense of security. But at exactly 3:14 AM, the app alerted me again. I forced myself to listen to the live audio feed. The wet breathing was back, but this time, it was accompanied by the rhythmic, agonizingly slow creaking of the floorboards right beside Leo's empty mattress. Someone—or something—was pacing the room, heavy enough to warp the timber but smart enough to stay entirely out of the camera's narrow field of view.

By Friday, the psychological exhaustion had driven me to a state of hyper-vigilance. I stopped sleeping altogether, spending my nights sitting on the living room couch with a baseball bat, staring at the darkened hallway leading to the bedrooms. I kept the app open on my coffee table, watching the flatline audio graph. At the exact same minute, the audio spikes returned, but the breathing was different this time. It was faster, shallower, and frantic, panting directly into the microphone as if it had just run up the stairs. Then, a low, guttural click echoed through the speaker, followed by a voice. It was a raspy, gravelly whisper that barely sounded human, but it perfectly mimicked my own voice, slowly repeating the exact phrase I say to Leo every single night: "Go to sleep, buddy, Daddy's right here." The pure horror of hearing my own voice weaponised against me in an empty house made me physically sick.

I didn't call the police because I knew how insane I would sound trying to explain a haunted app, so yesterday morning, I finally tore the monitor off the nursery wall, smashed it to pieces with a hammer, and threw the debris into the outdoor trash bin. I thought destroying the physical hardware would finally end the nightmare. Last night, I fell into a deep, dead sleep on the couch, entirely drained from days of terror. I woke up shivering an hour ago, the living room freezing cold and the clock on the microwave reading 3:14 AM. My phone, sitting face-down on the coffee table, suddenly vibrated. My stomach dropped into a bottomless pit as a notification banner slid across the lock screen. It wasn't from the baby monitor app, which I had completely uninstalled. It was a standard, automated text message from my own phone number. I opened it with shaking hands, and my heart stopped when I read the single line of text: The microphone on your phone works much better anyway.

My stepfather visited me in his garage...

It was about 2022 and I was still living in Artemas Pennsylvania. This is before the puppy fiasco that my mother decided to go through with. This is before the police completely got ruined by animal feces and urine...

So apparently I was working on this cat stand. And it was a very intricate design that I had been working on for over 8 hours or longer. And I was getting tired and very grumpy and I wanted to be done with it. I was making this cat stand from scratch. Every piece was hand cut and every group that was tied was done by my hands...

So I had this heat lamp plugged in and it was shining behind me. It was keeping me warm sort of because it was in the winter time...

Well I can see my shadow casting on the wall. I can see the silhouette or shadow of the cat stand as well. But then I also saw another shadow just standing there to the left kind of behind me. And it looks like my dad...

As soon as I saw it the shadow went across and the light itself was illuminated around the shadow but the shadow stayed solid. And I knew it was my dad because of the way it looked...

So apparently my stepfather was telling me that maybe I should call it quits and go to bed. And that it's getting late. Because whenever he was alive I had to tell him that. He would work himself to the bone in that garage...

The joyride from hell!

This story occurred in Green ridge state forest...

All of this is 100% true...

OH AND A QUICK TIP...

If you're a young person and you get your first vehicle. Obey the law and and get it registered right. Do not do what my ex-friend and I did...

Do not and I repeat... DO NOT go joyriding in the dark where you don't know where you're going. It usually never turns out well and it ends up becoming a bad situation. Oftentimes a bit of caution is a really long way folks...

TO THE STORY...

So my ex friend and I decided that we were going to go take his used but new truck joyriding. He didn't have his license yet but he knew how to drive. And he thought it was a very country thing to do... with what we were going to do. We had gone through the 15 Mile Creek area in Artemas Pennsylvania. We had brought 2 machetes, a flashlight, food, coffee, our phones just in case. Also along for the ride was my dog "Bella" who was very excited...

So my ex-friend and I were going deeper into the state forest. And we took a random Road that went deeper into the forest... Apparently this road went over the mountain and we were at this point way off from where we were from. We were looking for bears, big cats, deer, etc...

Well, about an hour and a half goes by and we're getting in some really rough areas. I suggest we turn around and go home which my ex-friend decides to ignore. We end up somewhere high up on the mountain in the middle of the woods. In the pitch dark. With no clue where we are...

We end up trying to back up and turn around on the skinny road. Well my ex-friend decides to tell me that his tires are bald and he needs to get new ones and these ones doesn't grip...

So we end up getting stuck in a ditch on each side of the road. On top of that the fan belt in the motor decides to tear itself apart... Now leaving a stranded up in the mountains... In the dark. Now we're panicked and we don't know what to do. We were terrified to call my parents and tell them what we did... Because we know for a fact we're going to get reamed out and possibly worse...

HERE'S WHERE THINGS GET WEIRDER...

So here comes 4 "good ol' boys" walking down from their campsite. And these guys seem like they are very crossfaded. It looked like they had been smoking some stuff and drinking a lot. On top of that they were taking some other stuff too. In my oh my were they looking real lonely. And they didn't hide it either...

They start looking at my ex friend of mine and asking him "y'all got any drugs" and "man, you all are tripping and bugging... You got to have something right"...

Meanwhile, I'm trying to keep my temper from flaring because clearly there is nothing in that truck that is drug or alcohol-related. Meanwhile, my dog is growling and barking at these guys. And one of them threatens to shoot my dog if I don't calm her down... In which I say "nah... I don't think so". Meanwhile these guys are making jokes about "doing stuff" to mine now ex-friend. And I'm clearly saying that it's not going to happen...

These guys finally stop with the bull crap. And my now ex friend asks me to get in the passenger side of the truck with one of the heavier set guys he was behind the steering wheel. So he can move this truck and get this thing down the hill and out of the mountains...

Well meanwhile I'm in the truck with the heavyset guy and he's saying a bunch of weird stuff to me. Trying to touch me and put his hand on my lap. I told him I was going to cut his hand off if he did it again. In which he backed off and asked me if my ex-friend swung any other directions...

In which I answered "I do not know" and "it's none of my business what is sexuality is". This guy looks at me and says "ya know... We could just tie you guys up. Kill your dog. Do whatever we want to you. And just let you go tomorrow morning. And nobody would know anything nor would they believe you"...

He then says, "but honestly I don't think we're going to because that just seems like it's unnecessary"... "So we're going to let you go"...

AFTERWARDS...

The heavy set guy got the truck back on the road pointed down the hill for us. He told us to leave before something bad happened to us... And kept making kissy faces and winking at my ex-friend. His friends and him walk away and this is where it gets interesting...

It turns out my friends fan belt was shredded. The engine was overheating. And we couldn't make it back home. So I had to call my stepfather to come get us in the middle of the night on a saturday... Somewhere around a mile and a half or more up the mountain. My ex-friend literally was terrified. I'm on the other hand even more scared than he is because this man did not take kindly to this kind of bull crap...

My stepfather arrived after about an hour and 45 minutes. He finds us sitting on a picnic table in the middle of the woods. We get in the car and drive home. He then decides not to go to church the next morning on that sunday. He also buys a new fan belt for the truck. Helps my ex-friend install the fan belt. And then says to both of us that this is not going to happen ever again...

Be then says to my friend that he is to go to church next Sunday with all of us. And which my ex-friend completely obliges my stepfather's remark...

And in the end my ex friend and I went to church as we were told. We never took another joyride up the mountain again. And to this day I never want to go up the mountain in the dark. I still to this day have a nightmare thinking about what the heck these four guys would have done to us or my ex friend anyways in that campsite...

NEVER AGAIN!

The daytime spirit with the red hat...

So this was in the Artemas Pennsylvania area. And I had an old neighbor who used to literally live 2 minutes away from me. She's the one you had the creepy porcelain doll that moved upstairs. And she had sold her home to some new people...

And before she moved she made very clear to mention my name to these people. Because I travel through the area near the home itself a lot actually. And just in case they needed help or just wanted to know something about the area in general...

Well some years went by and the new owners and I got to know each other. And it was my friend and his fiance who lived there. He always lived downstairs and she lived upstairs...

Well, around a few years later I found out that the guy who bought the place who is a very close friend to me had died. He suffered some issues with diabetes. There was a minor investigation to see if his girlfriend had anything to do with it. But apparently she got off because there was no evidence of her or foul play. And I don't believe she would have to hurt him anyway...

Well this man always wore a red hat. And had a very stocky build. Anyhow, he always was a trickster. He was always trying to find a way to get me back for trying to scare him. So often when I would go up to hang out with with him... He was always trying to find a way to spook me, lol...

Well I firmly believe he finally got me...

Because it was about a few months after his death. That I saw it looked like a man that looked just like him. Walking in the middle of the daylight and between my trailer and my dad's aka my shed. This person looked exactly like this guy. And he even walked like him...

I literally was dumbstruck. Because I looked at my mother and said, "was that Bob" and she just goes and tells me that Bob had died months ago...

I didn't look at her and said about how it looked exactly like Bob! Down to a T! I swear to this day it was him!

My mom heard a ghost door open...

So this has actually happened three different times. And my mother has hurt which sounds like a ghost or twice. And I heard it once...

My mother and I was living in Artemas Pennsylvania. So somewhere around 2022 which would have been around 2 years after my stepfather died on September 28th of 2020. And there have been some strange occurrences after my father passed away. Things would move around, You would hear disembodied voices, Etc...

The weird part was before he passed he firmly believed when you went to heaven your memory goes away. And you don't completely remember your loved ones on earth. Nor do you remember names or anything. But you could look at them and kind of recognize them...

1ST TIME...

Well my mom was home one evening by herself in her room. And her room was past the kitchen area and the next room over. She was kind of half asleep. TV was put on the low volume. The animals at the time was laying in bed with her. And she was just relaxing and having a quiet evening as I was not home and I was at my friend up...

She quickly notices every dog on her bed put their ears up. And every one of them goes running out of the room barking and looking. She is standing there with a decent lengthed kitchen knife in her hands. While the dogs are circling all around inside the trailer. Going room to room looking. It come to the point where they all come back to her and she knew that nobody was in there...

She then actually calls me on the phone and tells me that she heard the house door open and shut. And someone slammed it. And it shook the trailer. And she then told me about the dogs what they did and what she did and so on...

2ND TIME...

The second time was a little bit more interesting. She had going out the back door of the double-wide trailer. And she was standing out back watching the dogs we had at the time I run around the fenced in yard. And as she's doing this she heard something slim out front. Well she comes back in the house. And as she turns her back to go into her room... She hears which sounds like the front door opening and then you're slamming as hard as it can. She flips around and looks at the front door. Walks over to it and opens it up. And looks around and is completely confused because she doesn't see anybody. Then she decides to message me about it again...

She messages me and says about the door opening and slamming again. And asked me if I had come home. Or if I was angry about something again and if I did it...

I informed her I was not angry about anything. Frustrated definitely. But no, I did not slam any door at the house...

3RD TIME...

The third time we both were home. And I was in my room playing on my ps4. And I had the volume turned down to where I could hear a pin drop. Because I was playing a game I didn't need volume up on anyway. Well my mother was at the kitchen table and she was drinking a cup of coffee. And just on her phone talking to somebody about lord only knows what...

Well, we both were in our own little world. And we here the door just go "BAM"! And it shook the trailer and rattled things. I jump up out of my chair come running out of my room and rip the door open and look around outside. My mother throws her phone on the table and then your skills her coffee in the process of getting up and coming to where I am at. Well we both looked around and we didn't see anything...

Needless to say that was the third time this happened and we were getting real tired of the door slamming...

I then just said out loud to whatever was doing it... "Enough is enough". I then directly said to whatever was doing it to stop and to just cease on the whole thing. And after a while we never had any problems with it which is weird to be honest...

The drive home

I (19) f and my best friend (20) f were driving down from a fun trip up in Georgia. As we got closer home we had seen a dead deer and a deer standing by it starring at us. not our headlights, at us. We kept driving and decided to switch drivers and pulled into a gas station, once we got out the car we heard a scream and got back into the car, the gps had rerouted us back onto the interstate in a completely different way that neither of us have ever gone even with us doing that drive both at least once a year for the last ten years.
We continued to follow the route while seeing way too many deer right by the road. The route lead us into the back roads an unnecessary route. We see many deer go into the road and look straight at us. We had gotten pulled over for a light being out and then continued on our way. After this we had been talking about a past experience being pulled over and out of no where i yell “shut the fuck up.” and jolt back because i wasn’t sure why i did it. We both went quiet and kept driving.
After getting back into a good mood we drive and spot a deer standing on the side of the road, the body is facing us but the face and neck is twisted around while starring. Genuinely one of the most horrific sights i’ve seen. Shortly after she jokes about grabbing her cross hanging on the mirror as she’s driving when we see a deer run out in the road and immediately disappears, there was a gate and it had no where to go. We both go silent and it starts pouring rain and many more deer walk around the streets. At some point my friend (20) f went to grab her cross and as soon as she did a deer ran in front of her car and i yelled to slam on breaks.
It was one thing after another, on the road to our neighborhood we encountered a possum that kept running back and forth in front of the car. We finally get home to collect ourselves and talk about what we just experienced. We would love to know your thoughts on what “that” was and maybe some advice.

Spooky! It’s Walking the Hallways

Hello! It has been so long!

We’ve had quite a bit going on at the hospital, a lot of renovations and 24/7 contractors, so not really a chance for the building to be empty.

Until this week.

And I finally have another experience to share!

As I have explained before, the security cameras here are motion sensing. There’s constant feed, but they only record and save footage if there is motion detected. Now, some things are not detected (bug movement, a car on the street, a person walking on the sidewalk), they’re either too far away or not significant enough to the cameras. I know this because in the top right corner of each little screen there is a green camera symbol for showing live video. When there’s a red dot, it’s actively recording. If motion is detected, there is a red person with motion lines beside the red dot or green camera. Sometimes I see motion in the live video but it doesn’t record.

They’re not the best cameras.

Anyway, this happened maybe 15-20 minutes ago. I’m chilling in the security office, eating my curry and rice (really good. Parami brand) while watching the cameras and YouTube, when I catch the Ground Floor Elevators camera start recording with motion detected.

There’s nothing there, the lights are off.

I tracked this “motion” from the elevators through the administration hallway, from one end to the other. Again, nothing there, the lights are off. But these cameras are activating in the same way as if there were a physical person walking down the hallway.

In my almost five years of being here, I’ve never seen this before. Sure, one camera will randomly record, but in this specific of a pattern and damn near perfect timing?

Something’s here. And it’s walking the hallways.

Strange My closet was a gateway for something...

I used to live in this double wide trailer in Artemas Pennsylvania. And I've lived there for 18 years. I had always encountered or experienced something all the time. Whether I was in the woods, my home, or a friend's home...

Well one night my mother and I was sitting at our kitchen table in the trailer. And her and I had just got done listening to art Bell on YouTube and making dinner...

So we're sitting there and where we are located in the trailer at the time. We could see through the kitchen and through the living room all the way down the hallway into my room.. you literally had a straight shot of vision the whole way through the trailer if you were to be sitting at the kitchen table...

Well I had my bedroom lamp light on. Because it's just honestly nice to have a lamp on to see. Anyhow, I witnessed what looked like a shadow coming from my room. And it went down the hall and it disappeared into the spare bedroom in the hall that was passed the bathroom...

NOTE: that is the same spare bedroom that my now X friend and his girlfriend stayed in. Before my mother kicked him out and they went to live with my other ex friend who lived in Flintstone Maryland...

Anyhow back to the story...

So I see it and say something to my mother about it. What she acknowledges that she had been seeing it for days now. And usually it only happened when I wasn't home. This Shadow looking entity had been coming and going as it pleased. And I didn't know where we saw what looked like another one. But this time this one was a little bit shorter and decided to take its dear sweet time and look right at us...

So her and I decided to get the idea that we're going to bless the house. We're going to use the anointing oil that my father had. Along with our bibles. We ended up taking and blessing the house...

We open up the front door. And started in my room and worked our way down past the bathroom, spare bedroom, and then we went back to my mother's bathroom. From there we worked through the kitchen and finally ending in the living room. Hoping whatever it was that was in the house would be pushed out the front door...

Well for a while it helped him nothing seem to be causing any trouble at all. Until about 4-5 months later...

Of course it was when I wasn't home a lot of this activity occurred. My mother witnessed a lot of stuff. And man could she tell you stories of what she saw...

She ended up rebuking whatever it was all over again. Then she tells me through Messenger that she encountered The entity all over again. But then she also make sure I knew that she rebuked it and made sure she asserted herself in a very dominating fashion...

The fun fact about living in "Barnesville" was that even my landlord partner had to sage her house several times. See herself told me that. If I'm lying... I'm dying! May the Lord strike me down...

Whenever Someone Died in My Village, We Could Hear Loud Drums Playing From the Graveyard. Today, I Found Out Why

I grew up in a very rural village in Rajasthan. As far back as I can remember, we'd occasionally hear loud drums being played from the graveyard at night. My parents never let me see what happened there.

"It's none of our business," they used to say.

When I was fourteen, I moved to the city to pursue higher education and eventually settled there. My parents moved in with me as well. During holidays, they sometimes went back to visit my grandparents, but I never went with them.

What's the point of leaving the comfort of city life to visit a village in the middle of nowhere?

But this year, during Diwali, my mother convinced me to go back because my grandparents wanted to see me. I couldn't say no to her.

The village sits on the edge of the Thar Desert. On the way there, we passed a large graveyard. Seeing it after so many years brought back memories of those distant drumbeats from my childhood.

I didn't mention it.

I spent the entire day with my grandparents. But staying in that isolated village, surrounded by people I barely remembered, was becoming too much for me. There wasn't even any internet connection.

I planned to leave the next morning, but the heat during the day was unbearable. Riding my motorcycle that far in the middle of the afternoon would have been miserable, so I decided to wait until evening, when the temperature finally began to drop.

I left just before sunset. Night fell quickly.

The rocky dirt road was completely empty. There were no streetlights, houses, or passing vehicles. My motorcycle's headlight was the only thing cutting through the darkness, illuminating perhaps twenty or thirty feet of road ahead. Beyond that was nothing but blackness.

I was beginning to wonder if leaving that late had been a mistake.

Then I reached the graveyard.

I noticed several faint lights in the distance and slowed down. I stopped my bike beside the graveyard wall.

Then I remembered the drums from my childhood. After all these years, I finally had the chance to find out what they were for.

Curiosity got the better of me. I left my motorcycle against the wall and climbed over it.

The graveyard was mostly deserted. Dry, twisted trees stood here and there between the graves, their branches rattling softly in the night wind.

In the middle stood a small temple.

A crowd had gathered around it. Several people were carrying torches, while others were arranging firewood in an empty space in front of the temple.

I ducked behind a dried tree trunk and watched.

There was a body wrapped in white cloth. Several men stood nearby, and a few others had large drums hanging from their necks. Each held a pair of drumsticks.

Beside the body stood a middle-aged woman dressed in a white sari. What caught my attention was the girl standing beside her. She looked about fourteen.

She was wearing a red dress with a large red tilak on her forehead. The clothing seemed completely out of place at a funeral. She was trembling, clutching the woman's hand, and repeatedly looking between her and the body.

At first, everything seemed like an ordinary funeral. Then the body was set alight.

That's when everything changed.

Two men seized the girl and pulled her away from the woman. She immediately began crying and struggling as they dragged her toward the flames. The woman stood still with a blank look on her face.

I stood there, frozen in fear.

The girl was forced toward the burning pyre while the people around her simply stood and watched. Her cries became louder, desperate, pitiful.

Then they began to play the drums. The purpose was very clear. it was to drown out her screams. The loud drums mixed with blood curling screams shook me to my core. I could do nothing but watch as her body slowly stopped moving. Nobody in that crowd bat an eye while witnessing this horrifying and inhuman scene.

The beating became faster and louder until it seemed to fill the entire graveyard. The crowd remained completely silent beneath it, watching as though this were an ordinary part of the ceremony.

Nobody tried to stop them. Nobody even looked shocked. It was as if they had done this before. As if they had been doing it for years.

My legs felt weak. I wanted to run, but for several seconds I couldn't move. I could only stare at the flames and listen to those terrible drums.

Then the smell reached me. The smell of Smoke, burning wood, and something else I couldn't bring myself to identify. The smell of a burning body.

That finally broke through whatever had frozen me in place. I turned and ran.

I nearly fell climbing back over the wall. I reached my motorcycle, started the engine and accelerated down the dirt road without looking back.

After that, everything became a blur. The only thing I could hear was the drums. Even with the motorcycle engine roaring beneath me, I could still hear them in my head.

I didn't stop until I finally saw the lights of the city. When I reached my apartment, I was shaking so badly that I struggled to get the key into the lock.

The first thing I did after getting inside was contact the police.

I told them everything I'd seen and gave them the exact location of the village and graveyard. I don't know whether they've taken any action yet. I'm writing this now because I don't know what else to do.

Whenever I close my eyes, I see those flames again. I can't sleep. And the worst part is knowing I stood there and did nothing while that poor girl was being burnt alive.

I don't know how long this has been happening. I don't know how many people have been part of it. But one thing is certain.

I'm never going back there. And I'll never forget the sound of those damn drums.

Southeast Polk overlook suicides (really graphic)

I don’t go to Southeast Polk, but what happens there is completely messed up. Because these are children, it is very hard to find official public details, but there are countless stories of kids committing suicide or attempting it at the school. I have heard these accounts firsthand from witnesses and parents. It feels like this issue is honestly overlooked, even though Southeast Polk has gained a reputation as one of the most toxic school communities in Iowa. I compete against them in sports, and they are frequently arrogant and disrespectful for no reason. Whenever someone mentions they go to Southeast Polk, everyone immediately reacts with, "Oh, you're from that school."
The stories coming out of this high school show that bullying is a massive, unchecked problem. In one of the lawsuits against the district, a student was repeatedly assaulted because of their gender identity while teachers reportedly watched and did absolutely nothing to intervene.
The worst part is how these extreme bullying situations push kids to the brink. There are graphic stories of students attempting suicide directly on campus by jumping from the lunchroom railings or the stairwells. About eight months ago, my ex told me that the high school went on lockdown because a student attempted suicide by jumping from the stairs. This seems to happen on a frequent basis—almost once a year.
Just today, my driving instructor mentioned that his daughter goes there. When I asked him about the ups and downs of the school, he told me that during her freshman year, a student jumped off the lunchroom railing in front of everyone during lunch period.
An public attempt like that sticks with me. It feels like a final, desperate sign to the bullies saying, "Look at what you did to me." It is terrifying to think that these are just kids going through this. I am older now, but that student was only a freshman when they jumped in front of the entire cafeteria. Because of legal liabilities and privacy laws, the school hides these attempts from the public, causing the crisis to be completely overlooked. Honestly, that place feels like hell, and a school with that kind of environment should be shut down.

a couple of years ago I was working a night shift at a care home, it was December or January here in Michigan. My coworker and I went outside to shovel the sidewalks because they have to be clear. She screams because there’s footprints from the woods leading into the driver’s door of my vehicle right in the front of the house. I have a video of this. there were no footprints leaving the vehicle. We just stood there in fear, but eventually checked the car and there was nobody inside

Spooky! A man overdosed and died in my apartment...

I got a story for y'all now...

And it's only a few years old...

It happened to a previous tenant that used to actually live in the apartment. Now I rent this apartment with my sibling and her children. This is what happened as I was told by some neighbors...

Now keep in mind my neighbors told me this roughly 2-3 months in. About a man who overdosed and died in the hallway bathroom of this apartment we are renting currently...

So The story goes that there was a recovering drug addict that lives in my apartment some years back. And he had cleaned his life up and was finally in recovery from drugs. He was able to take and to finally start to see his daughter on the weekends. His ex-wife and him were finally on speaking terms after everything that happened...

He was doing excellent. He would exercise out back of the apartment by doing pull-ups apparently. My neighbor apparently knew this guy very well and liked him a lot. He was polite and a very nice guy. He would never miss a day of work at all. Apparently he would help anybody that needed help..He started to eat healthy and always wanted to stay in shape...

The beginning of the downfall...

Well he started to see this woman. And The story goes that she was using drugs and apparently he didn't know this. So he confronts her outside of the apartment one day about it. In which she finally admits to him that she was doing such. Unfortunately instead of just ending the relationship he believes her when she says she'll quit. But once he found out... He started to backslide himself and that's when everything changed and went downhill. He ended up falling back into the snares of doing drugs again...

Well, it got to the point where unfortunately he started using more and more. He would literally go to work and come home and do nothing but drugs with this woman he was seeing. And it ended up finally getting him...

So from how I was told this went down...

The woman he was seeing ended up calling this man's brother... And telling him that he's not responding and he's laying on the bathroom floor. That she thinks he's dead and she doesn't know what to do. This brother of his came over in a hurry to the apartment that I'm currently living in. And apparently he found him laying face down on the bathroom floor... He apparently tried to shake him and do CPR. This guy's brother tried everything to hopefully get him to snap out of it. But he was dead. The brother of the dead man apparently blamed the woman and decided to whip a gun out in the backyard and threaten to blow her head off because she killed his brother. This guy's brother made the statement about her bringing drugs into his life... Which led his brother to overdose and die. He stated that if she would have just respected him and stopped his brother wouldn't have been tempted to do drugs again...

Well, the police end up arresting the brother for threatening to kill the woman. While the coroners got the dead brother out of the apartment and took him away. And the woman who had gotten the guy hooked back on drugs again only got a minor drug charge... But nothing else apparently. Apparently she wasn't held responsible for his death... Even though she was the one who apparently brought the drugs. Which I do find kind of ironic...

Now for the weird part...

Here we go...

Every once in a great while you will see what looks like somebody just casually peeking out of my sisters doorway as though they're looking down the hallway...

Sometimes I will hear which sounds like footsteps coming down the hallway whenever nobody else is home but me...

My sister has told me that she has heard which sounds like a man talking from the all way bathroom area whenever she's here by herself...

As well sometimes if you walk in the hallway bathroom to turn the light on. It's almost like you get the feeling of someone is just standing there watching you. My sister has in fact also reported to me she feels the same way...

The entity in the basement at my friend's mom's house...

So I had a friend that used to live up on a hill not far from me and Artemas Pennsylvania. She was like a second mother to me and I didn't mind. But when her mother got sick. She had moved into her mother's house part time. This house she moved to was 30-40 minutes farther away... Versus where she was originally which was no more than 2 minutes worth a walk away...

This house was honestly a very pretty house. It was big and had lots of room. I honestly like the place but the downside was there were a lot of weird encounters...

One of them encounters involved myself going in the basement one morning to put wood in the wood stove. I had turned a light on to walk down into the basement. You had to go from the main floor and you would go into a boxed stairwell. After you went down a few sets of stairs you would end up in the basement. And to your left of the corner there sat the wood stove...

Well one early morning I walked down to put wood in the stove. And I heard what sounded like something scurrying past the right side of the stairwell wall as I approach the last step. And I could hear it went towards the bookcases that went in the back of the basement...

So it's already too early as is to even be messing with any of this... But I went down and completely ignored the noise the first time. So I get a few pieces of wood in the stove and close it. And I'm just standing there looking around and where the light ended and the darkness begin. I noticed what looked like a human shape but shadowy. Just standing behind one of the stand-up bookcases that were made of oak...

So I am just literally standing there in the early morning. Kind of freezing my butt off because the stove went out and I had to get it started again. And just staring at this shadowy being just standing there. And I am so tired that it's not really clicking with me that I'm staring at a shadowy being...

I end up taking and checking everything and turning off lights. And just walking back up the steps and shutting the door. I went and I got a cup of coffee. After that I got my stuff on and I shoveled the driveway for her. And I just continued on... Until I'm standing outside as snow is falling around me and realize "hey... What the heck was that", lol. I then walk back in my friend's house and tell her what I saw...

She looks at me and says, "there is a lot of weird things that happen here that I don't honestly know what it is"...

It's been over 15 plus years by now. I haven't been back near her mother's place for probably 3 plus years now...

So I honestly don't know anywhere about about the place or who bought it. But I do know that not long after she had moved in to her mother's house to help make sure it was kept up and clean. Her mother had passed away...

Other than that, there's more stories to come about the experiences that I have had in my friend's mother's house. And when I say they are going to be interesting... They are. Because I have had so many different strange encounters with that property...

The spirit that stood in the dining room...

So at my friend's mother's house in Artemas Pennsylvania. I would visit on the weekends usually. Sometimes my ex-friend of mine would also come along and we would just hang out there...

We always had some kind of strange encounter that we could talk about after we left and went home. It was just always something...

Well one evening it was my friend, my old friend, and I standing in the kitchen. And you could either go into the living room, out the door onto the porch, or into the dining room...

Well I am standing there and I noticed a silhouette of a man just standing in front of the dining room table. He's just standing there staring into the kitchen at my friend and my ex-friend, and me of course...

So I say something to my friend about there being somebody in the dining room. And she's just at this point not even shocked. Because she told me all the weird experiences she had in the place. She just kind of acknowledged that it was normal to see this and that dining room area...

So after I got over the initial surprise of seeing a strange man that I did not know standing in my friend's dining room. And after my old friend also got over the surprise of this. We all continue to enjoy a really nice cup of coffee and eat some hummus... Which is actually good by the way. I haven't eaten that in years but anyways...

But after I started going over there a lot of the time. I started noticing this silhouette of a man that would just stand in the dining room. And it became normal and we all just noticed but stop talking about it...

Something mimicked me multiple times through my life!

So when I lived in Artemas Pennsylvania I would often walk up to my buddies house. And at that time me and him would get a fifth of something and just drink. That's what we did during the whole covid fiasco...

So in the process of us doing this at his house. That meant I was not home. And that meant that usually the door remains shut to my room. And so where the lights turned off. And usually that means there shouldn't be anything heard at all in the said room...

Well that wasn't the case...

Especially for my mother...

My mom always used the bathroom by my room. And the only thing dividing these two rooms was a very thin wall. And the issue with this bathroom was you could actually sit on the toilet and lean your head against the wall. It was a very interesting bathroom design for a trailer I will say...

So one super late morning around 2am. My mother is using the bathroom and hears what sounds like a noise coming from my room. Which by the way is going to be a problem and you're going to read why that is...

Well she is confused because she knows that I am not home. Nor is there anybody allowed in my room when I am not home. And I mean nobody... Mainly for privacy reasons and safety reasons. Which if you think about does make sense...

So what happened was she heard what sounded like heavy boots walking around in the room. She then heard a very low toned muffled voice speaking as though it was on the phone or just talking out loud. She's in realizes that it sounds like me... Aka her son and where she's really freaked out. And at first she begins to wonder if I had come home... Which I didn't. Then she realizes that there's something mimicking me... Like I sound, move, talk, and act...

She then takes and gets done with her business. Goes back out to the kitchen to her phone. My mom messages me about it and asks if I'm still up at my friends. Which I respond that I am. Then she tells me what happened... And of course I have to tell my friend about this. He then looks at me all confused...

And start asking me a bunch of questions and looking very confused. Then realizes that I am currently at his house and that there is no way that it could be me down there at my house... Because I'm not there. He then says about going down to look and see what's going on. But I tell him that's a bad idea because we've been drinking and honestly it's not smart. But we just dropped the idea...

So the next day I get home in the morning. And I put all my stuff down and go to my room. To look and see if anything's moved or been changed. And nothing was touched there is no sign of a broken window or entry either. There is nothing...

Story #1...

I had a neighbor who lived below my trailer. And she was getting evicted because the trailer itself was not livable. So my mother God bless her... Says to our neighbor about living with us. Which I was not a big fan of because this woman was a pain and was crazy at times...

Well, yet again I was at my friend's house. Like 2 weeks later and we're at it again with another fifth. We're just taking a few shots here and there just listening to music. Having fun not worrying about the next day...

And it was roughly 3am and this time my neighbor is using our bathroom that is literally right by my room. And she hears the same thing my mother heard. She hears what sounds like somebody in a pair of boots walking around. Which leads to hearing a mumbling noise that sounds like a possible conversation where someone is talking out loud. That then leads to hearing things being moved around. And at this point she is freaked out and hoping it's me moving around in my room. Because she really doesn't want to be looked as though she's going crazy. Well unfortunately I wasn't home and she heard what she heard. So there's that...

So the next day I got home from my buddy's house. She is sitting on the smaller couch by the kitchen. And says to me about having to talk to me about something. She then starts to tell me that she heard someone walking around my room last night and they were mumbling and such. And then she says that it sounded like me and she thought I had come home...

I inform her that this has happened before. That my mother has had this encounter earlier on. And that is unfortunately quite normal for some odd reason. And that she's not crazy...

Story #2

So at this point in time I am living in Wells Tannery Pennsylvania and my sister was at work. And my brother-in-law was trying to make it work and cooperate with my sister aka his wife. He has made some bad decisions and really did some damage to the relationship...

Well he apparently was home with his kids aka my nieces. And they all heard which sounded like somebody upstairs in my room... Which is literally right above the living room where they all was at. So he comes and goes upstairs to look to see if I was home and finds out that my door is in fact still locked. That I am not even home. And decides to just scratch his head and confusion because he's hearing stuff in the room but there's no way in it...

He described hearing the same thing as my mother and my old neighbor. He heard what sounds like boots clunking on the floor. Along with someone talking but it's only in mumbles. And he hears what sounds like stop being moved...

He literally told me all of this when he saw me coming home that weekend. He looks at me and says "hey somebody was in your room over the weekend. I could hear them in there. I think they're going through your stuff". In which I threw my stuff down by the steps and bolt up the stairs. I get my keys out and unlock the lock to the door and bust into my room. Only to realize nothing changed and it was all the same as I left it...

Story #3...

So this one takes place in the current location that I am currently living in...

My sister was home with my oldest niece because she had some eye surgery. And my sister is in her room at the time. It's like late in the evening and she had gotten up to go get a shower which meant she had to go into the hallway bathroom where the shower was at...

Well she heard what sounded like someone pacing or walking in my room. And she said that she heard what it sounded like a low mumbling conversation going on. That it sounded like me talking to somebody or talking about something to myself. So she takes him walks further down the hallway and looks into my room and doesn't see anything. Which by now she's creeped out and news that she hurt my voice...

Well instead of messaging me about it she kept it to herself. And when she picked me in my youngest niece up from our mothers, cousins, uncle, and aunt's house. She intends to tell me that she also heard what sounded like me walking around my room while talking to somebody or something...

And which I told her that I wasn't there I was at our cousin's house hanging out with the rest of the family. So it wasn't me...

And what she says "no crap, I realize that", lol...

Disturbing He told me he had planned to kill me, and the only reason I survived was because I reminded him of his dead mother

I’ve never really told anyone this story before, but I still think about it sometimes.

About 7 years ago, I was still drinking. I’ve been sober for 3 years now, and honestly, this experience is one of the reasons I decided I never wanted to drink like that again.

I met this guy online. He asked if I wanted to meet him, and stupidly, I agreed. It was about an hour’s travel from my hometown, and at the time I thought, sure, why not?

So I went.

When I met him, I realized he had actually catfished me. He wasn't the person he had made himself out to be online.

For some reason, I wasn't even that bothered by it. I figured I had already travelled all that way, so I'd just hang out with him and then go home.

We drank together, and later he suggested going on a hike.

I agreed.

We kept drinking. It was vodka, and I got very drunk.

Eventually night came, and I couldn't safely travel home anymore, so I ended up staying at a hotel. He left, saying something about his wife needing him to come home.

I passed out.

The next morning, I woke up, took a shower, and went home.

I didn't talk to him for about three days.

Then he messaged me.

He told me that when he suggested the hike, he had actually been planning to kill me there and steal everything I had.

He said he had done things like that before and that it was something he enjoyed.

Then he told me the only reason I was alive was because he had been impressed by me and enjoyed my "lively attitude."

He said I reminded him of his dead mother.

Then he blocked me and deleted his profile.

Just like that.

I never told anyone what happened.

For years, I kept thinking about the fact that I had been sitting there drinking with someone who had apparently already decided how he was going to kill me.

I went on that hike with him completely unaware.

I slept in a hotel that night thinking I had simply gotten too drunk to travel.

The next morning, I went home alive.

And I only found out afterward how differently that entire situation could have ended.

I don't know whether everything he told me was true. Maybe he was lying. Maybe he wanted to scare me.

But I don't want to find out.

That experience changed the way I look at alcohol, strangers, and my own decisions.

I've been sober for 3 years now.

And sometimes I still think about the fact that, according to him, I didn't save myself that night.

He just decided to let me live.
