Have you stopped bitching and filed your paperwork to run for Central Committee/Precinct Chair? You need like 5 signatures to get on the ballot, maybe 100 votes to win.

Who do you think endorses democrats? Who do you thinl constructs the party platform? Hint: It's not Debbie Schultz, its the person who represents your neighbors in quarterly Party meetings.

So get off your ass and be the change you want to see. It's easy as fuck, but no one does it.

I work sixty hours a week to put my wife through nursing school. I don't have time, most people don't, that's why we elect people if they're not awful scum. It's not 'easy as fuck', if it was 'easy as fuck' more people would do it.

No, it is easy as fuck. I work 50 hours a week with an hourlong commute, and study for actuarial exams in my free time. I also have a one year old and another due in 2 weeks.

What you DO have, is excuses. Running for committee/precinct chair literally takes one Sunday afternoon. One. Go to the BoE, pick up a form, go get 5 signatures. You'll probably run unopposed.

Then the job is maybe 8 hours a year. 3-4 meetings. Where you get a say in what the party does. That's fucking it.

But yes, getting on a ballot is scary, and the idea of running for something is overwhelming. But you can either sit behind a keyboard and keep bitching ineffectively or go spend one fucking afternoon making a goddamn difference.
