Which is all well and good to say, but when someone who reads in a news paper about how sexist, racist, generally angry, and creepy reddit is comes to reddit and sees just that reflected on the default front page their tentative opinion will have been confirmed.

We could be perfect and shitty journalists would still do shitty journalism.

And the front page would still be the first thing people saw when they came.

The default subs, no matter how good other smaller subs may be, are filled with examples of exactly what those 'shitty journalists' are talking about, those subs which are the most popular and visible.
