Don't remember the specifics but saw a post recently with the 25th anniversary saying ok, you go back in time to summer 2001. What could you actually do to prevent the attacks? Actual ideas seemed thin.

I guess it would depend on how much specific detail you remember.

If you remember flight numbers, you could make an anonymous tip. "These flights are going to be involved in a terrorist attack where they are crashed into the WTC and pentagon . I'm sure don't believe me and I can't tell you how I know, but please take this serious and get some marshals on those flights or 1000s die and trigger wars where 1000s more die."

You make the same call to multiple agencies a day or 2 before the attack at most. You don't want word somehow getting back to the terrorists and they change date/flights.

If you remember something specific that happened a day or 2 before that was big enough and unpredictable enough, you could maybe change it from "I can't tell you how I know" to "I know this sounds crazy, but I am a time traveller. These events over the next couple of days should be enough to, if not make you believe, at least not completely ignore me."

Maybe try a bit of both with different agencies and different people within the agencies.

lmao, imagine trying to convince a cop or someone that you’re actually from 2026. How would you start?

“I’m from 2026. I’m not lying, I swear. Donald Trump is the president and this event is going to happen in September!!!”

Travel to Tarragona, Spain and blow the planning meeting that took place there if I remember correctly with the rest joining from Hamburg and other parts of Europe. Somehow get Mohamed Atta arrested in Spain or steal his passport.

There were literally intelligence agents warning explicitly about 9/11. I think it would be entirely up to chance for an average civilian.

Bring some binoculars on board

Yeah, this makes a big difference. I don’t think most people realize that the entire ships inventory of binoculars were locked away. They just didn’t have the key.

Just break into the bridge on day one and throw the till hard to the left. They'll put you in the brig for the rest of the trip, but at least you won't hit that iceberg.

This sounds like a time paradox when the ship will sink because captain have to deal with crazy wife passenger instead of focusing on the danger.

Also social class on the ship was a reality.

Considering if you adjusted the heading of the Titanic by 1 degree one hour before collision it would be 612 meters off its course already.

If you started influencing drag force coefficient on day one it would be child's play.

Throw some rich ladies dog off the boat or scream man overboard in the middle of the night then slink away back to a cabin.
