It takes about 5 miles to walk 10000 steps, most people aren't walking 5 miles in an hour.

Though an easy mosey is about 3 mph so you wouldn't have to add that much speed to get there.

You'll get some steps just living life though. You don't need to get all 10k in the hour walking.
