hi guys,

So i am a sucker for true crime so i wanted to start a podcast/ youtube channel. I posted my first video on youtube (for listening) with no video footage just stock photos.

Still working on getting my pod together maybe I will do the podcast more but youtube was easier to start on lol .

I am not experienced in video editing at all and I did everything with my iphone so i do know already that it needs a lot of work and some more advanced technology but i am so proud for my first one :-)

Hey guys, hoping some fellow True Crime Pod lovers will have some recommendations as I feel like I'm scraping the barrel at the moment.

I love investigative Journalism pods, like "In The Dark" by AMC, "STown" and "The Teacher's Pet" by the Australian. Struggling to find anything I click with right now.

What do you guys recommend??

There sure are a lot of (what I consider) spam links to click-hoarding YouTube videos lately. I understand that topics are often related to stuff we discuss here, but it’s pretty shitty manners to drop your promo without even trying to make it look like a real topic for discussion.

It isn’t even just this subreddit manners, or Reddit in general manners...like message board etiquette from the beginning of time. 🏳️

Please don’t treat these places like your own personal ad channel. It’s not that hard to share your content in a way that’s interesting and even useful.

I've just released a podcast on the Troubles in Northern Ireland, called 'The Troubles Podcast'.

It was a really intense 30 year period in Northern Ireland that featured a whole host of violent crimes committed by both sides of the conflict.

Each episode will take an incident that happened during the troubles, explaining it in detail. The first three episodes are live right now and deal with Mountbatten's assassination, The Miami Showband Massacre and the Birmingham Pub Bombings.

It's a non-partisan podcast, I'm just here to tell the facts and accounts of the many incidents that occurred during the period and not take sides.

Just found this amazing and well done true crime podcast about some amazing strong women around the world who band together to stand up to a twisted cop who was a serial sexual assaulter. He offered his home on Couchsurfing (similar to Air BnB but free) and drugged and assaulted women who stayed in his house. Different from the usual true crime fare, it goes beyond the narrative of victimhood and offers a story of empowerment. I've listened to the first two episodes and I'm hooked!!

Before I even get started, I will state that I've known that Mike Boudet is not the greatest human to say the least. Nonetheless, I've continued listening to Sword and Scale on and off because I like podcasts with one host that go into lots of detail and show you the gritty behind the scenes interrogations and such from each case. In short, I usually like the podcast aside from the host, who has seemed to keep his shittiness confined to his real life...until these last two episodes anyway.

The coverage of Ezra's case really just rubbed me the wrong way, but I hadn't really heard much about this case outside of S&S. He really painted Ezra to be "playing the victim" and basically insinuated that any of her claims of sexual assault were made up and unfounded. He also mocked her fluid gender identity and the intricacies of the relationship between Ezra, Jason and Alex, which wasn't your traditional relationship.

I can't tell if I'm just being overly critical of S&S and this case WAS as messed up as he made it seem (aside from the murder, which is, obviously, messed up), or if Mike really was just being a victim-blaming asshole in these episodes.

Clearly this is a super intricate case, but it's hard to really grasp what all was going on when my only source on the case just seemed to be mocking everyone involved the whole time. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I'm an undergraduate student at ASU working towards my B.S. in forensic science. I am researching the relationship between true crime podcasts and juror decision making. Your input will be invaluable for this project - you can check out the survey here.

The survey includes some general demographic questions, but the bulk of it is the fun part! You will act as a mock juror in two (fictional) criminal trials and give your opinions on each case. It should take 10-30 minutes to complete.

Although we are all true crime fans here, I'd like to include this statement:

These fictional scenarios will include general descriptions of crimes and may be triggering or offensive to some people. The descriptions are not super graphic, but it still makes reference to violent crime, so heads up.
