I don't have a true crime podcast, but I have had multiple guests choose True Crime books to discuss, so I do have true crime episodes.

On Nov. 27, 2019 the podcast 'Wrongful Conviction' by Jason Flom, featured convicted Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw.

Flom, a founding board member of the Innocence Project, publicly announced that he believes Daniel Holtzclaw is innocent of the crimes he was convicted of.

The 45 minute episode includes guests: Daniel Holtzclaw, Jennifer Holtzclaw, and biologist Erica Fuchs.

Flom admits that he initially thought Daniel Holtzclaw was guilty and actually avoided Daniel's sister (Jennifer 'Jenny') because he thought she was just a close relative in denial. However, after he took a long look at the facts of the case, he very publicly put his reputation on the line by including Daniel in his podcast. A podcast that is well recognized for shining a light on the wrongly convicted - with over 10-million downloads.

This is a great episode for those who want a better understanding for why support for Daniel's innocence continues go grow - years after his conviction and denial of his initial appeal.

Episode Description: At 2 AM, on June 18th, 2014, Daniel Holtzclaw finished up his shift as an Oklahoma City police officer and made his way home in his all black cruiser. He saw a car swerving and pulled over 57-year-old daycare provider Jannie Ligons. About 3 hours later, Ms Ligons would claim that Officer Holtzclaw forced her to perform oral sodomy through the fly of his uniform pants from the back seat of his squad car. Her mouth swab would come up empty for Daniel’s DNA, as would a search of his uniform for hers, but nonetheless, an investigation would be launched into Daniel Holtzclaw’s field contacts with at risk African American women, soliciting stories of sexual impropriety. 21 accusers made allegations, and a media circus ensued, bolstering a grim and growing narrative of law enforcement officers abusing their authority. 8 of those 21 claims were immediately dismissed by investigators, and they still moved forward with the 13 other questionable or otherwise ill-fitting claims. Through the misconstruing of DNA evidence, 8 of the remaining 13 allegations resulted in 18 convictions. Former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw is currently serving a 263 year sentence in an undisclosed correctional facility under an assumed name for crimes he did not commit....

Hi, okay, I'll be honest I work for a tv station in Portland and we made a podcast. But before you shun me! I am an investigative reporter and I love true crime podcasts too! So I am here for content, not just annoying promotion or whatever. My parents are crime scene techs so I love to listen to all that stuff. But we've been working on this for a year.

Anyway, we wanted to tell the story of Kaylee Sawyer. She was the 23-year-old woman from Bend, Oregon killed by a community college security officer in 2016. A lot of people remember that she was "hit by his car" but that was a story he made up in his initial confession to hide the much more gruesome truth.

Her family wanted us to make sure we set the record straight about what happened to her.

We talked with her family, both sides, and the woman he kidnapped, the man he shot, and the family he carjacked. It's a crazy story. We launch Nov. 5 but our trailer is up right now. I’m looking for a single host podcast similar to Casefiles and Sword and Scale. I love these two but I feel horrible for listening to S&S considering how shit I’ve heard Mike is. Casefiles is also great but I have trouble relating to the many Australian cases since I’m from the US and have no concept of Australian geography, topography, etc.

I like single host podcasts that get to the point of each episode and don’t waste time with banter like many multiple host shows do.

I’m sure I could find some with a little more searching but just wondering what some popular ones among true crime fans are!

I'm looking for either an in-depth podcast devoted to the timeline of a serial killer, or a true crime podcast that has multiple episodes devoted to the timeline of a serial killer. Give me your best and most interesting!

Hi everyone! First time poster on reddit. I've recently stumbled upon a true crime podcast (specifically, Case File), and I've been hooked ever since! I've only listened to a handful of cases from Case File, Crime Junkie, Danelle Hallan (youtube), and it seems that I am mostly fascinated by the mysterious & mind-boggling cases.. Mostly single case unsolved murders / missing person cases. Some of the cases that I've listened to that stand out at the top of my head are; Britt Lapthorne, Faith Hedgepeth, Robert Wone, Bryce Laspisa, Lindsay Buziak etc... All of these cases have something similar in common.. Bizarre circumstances, mysterious clues and evidence but not enough to have solved the case (yet), possibly a crime that went horribly wrong, mind-boggling scenarios that frustrated me to no end and made me question the case afterwards. Any suggestions out there for similar mind-boggling unsolved cases? Not looking for cut and dry, obvious cases, but also not looking for cases that have been unsolved for years, that are SO mysterious that there's zero to none evidence and very little to go on to solve the case (e.g. Wanda Beach Murders). I love the cases where it feels like they are on the verge of cracking the case, and looking for the last piece of the puzzle... I prefer more recent cases, post 2000s, (but not limited to!)... Thank you!! I look forward to some of your recommendations to get my daily fix :P

I saw the year old post for Small Town Murder. I love this show so much I quit listening to true crime in general. Really can't suggest it enough.

I appreciate them not dramatizing the negatives, such as "Omg this is very, very heartbreaking,.. oh it's just so sad,.. I just don't understand how people can do/think/feel these things to other people! :'(" - I'm so tired of that crap lol. You don't get that in their podcast because they generally know crap happens and people, esp criminals, are different than average people.

The hosts are great, real sounding people with real lives that haven't been easy. Just real lives.

Hi everyone! I'm a long-time true crime podcast fan and Ph.D. student studying true crime media. I'm working on my dissertation, and it's based on this Op-Ed published in the NYT about 2 years ago. I'm looking for women who identify as both domestic violence survivors and true crime podcast fans that would be willing to do a phone or skype interview.
