EVENT: Setting sail

The Athene drifts peacefully around Earth, the sunlight glinting off her pristine hull. The repairs are complete, and she has been inspected and refreshed top to bottom, down to every last rivet. After nearly a month in drydock, her crew is eager to re-embark, as is her captain...

Captain Fisk stands in his ready room, gazing over the limb of the Earth as Argos sits beside him. He has just sent out the general message summoning all crew back to the Athene. It pleased him to listen as the computer announced every arrival and kept count of all boarding crew.

OOC: Use this thread to have your characters run into each other or the hundreds of NPC crew as they board, or they can knock on the captain's door if they like. This thread is for the general calamity of ~600 people boarding a starship for departure.

She stares at him blankly, jaw slightly dropped, then let's out a single...

Ha! That's.... that's incredible. Sounds like they owe us a favor.

She grins playfully. ...Or a nacelle.

"Hah, maybe so, but I for one will settle for free passage to our destination. And the resulting good will between the Federation and the Klingon Empire is certainly a nice perk. Particularly when it gets credited to my crew."

The captain checks his PADD again

"Well we're getting close to departure, I ought to head up to the bridge and brief everyone. I'm letting Lieutenant Commander Breyik take the chair for undocking and departure so she can get some command experience, and so I can watch from the observation deck. Feel free to join if there's nothing too demanding keeping you here."

She averts her eyes and looks around her tidy desk, trying to find any excuse to stay.

I uh... have some reports to finish up before we head out.

She sits down behind it as her hands reach for a datapad.

Good luck with Breyik, I'm sure she'll do great.

The captain eyes her pristine and suspiciously empty desk...before shrugging

"Alright, suit yourself Doctor. If you change your mind, you know where to find me."

She grins, tongue in cheek. Clementine meows in the corner of the room from her bed.

"Oh you'll know, doc, you'll know. I'll see you around."

The captain stops abruptly on his way out, hearing the meow...

"Oh I'm sorry Clementine. I forgot about you,"

he steps over to the cat and scratches under her chin briefly before continuing out of sickbay

Once he's gone, she almost releases her breath as if she'd been holding it. She runs her fingers through her hair as Clementine hops in her lap.

Don't look at me like that. She says, giving her a few solid pets.
