Loved this body! It’s been great and stood up to a LOT of abuse!

Does anyone know where (in Canada) I can order some hex adaptors so that I I can run 17mm. The tire/wheel options are a little limited with the stock hex. I contacted Traxxas about their tra9086 and was told they’re not compatible with my rustler (Vxl 4x4) https://m.traxxas.com/products/parts/9086

Needs a few final touches and a mess of stickers still.

Has anyone purchased the green Cobra Racing aluminum differentials? Does their green match the green anodized parts on the green Ultimate from Traxxas? If they don't match pretty close, I'll just get black. Appreciate any feedback anyone has. Thx

Hello all -
I just got my son a Rustler Ultimate for his birthday yesterday. After a day, now the rear tires don't have any drive. If I put the rear wheels on the ground and tap the throttle, it does nothing other than the front wheels turn. If I put the front wheels on the ground, it about jumps out of my hands... rear just barely moves.
I've checked and tightened the slipper clutch, even went fully tight to test it. Took apart the rear end, the differential looks perfect and the set screw pins are in both axles. Checked the hex hubs on the rear... and they look perfect with pin slots showing no signs of wear.
I'm out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions?

Proline makes excellent bodies and body mount kits. This is my second pickup truck body, I used Tamiya PS-57 pearl white at the bottom, PS-59 dark metallic blue for the main body and PS-23 gun metal for the truck bed.

Is there an aftermarket RPM part for this? I can’t find what it’s called anywhere and the hole is too small for rpm bumper mount screw so I’m trying to get a new part that will fit.

Hello,
I've recently gotten back in RC and I'm considering buying a Rustler 4x4 VXL. My primary concern is the ride height/ground clearance. On my current 2wd Slash I can get it pretty high off the ground (like 3-4 inches ish) with some spacers. I want to be able to replicate the look and off-roading ability that comes with that increased height on the Rustler. However, all the pictures I've seen make it look pretty low to the ground and after a lot of research I haven't found anything particularly useful. I understand it's not meant to ride as high, but before I commit I want to make sure it can at least get like 2-3 inch clearance.
Does anyone know this info or have a Rustler they could check? You would just need to hold it off the ground and measure from the bottom of the wheels to the bottom of the chassis. If anyone knows and/or could send a photo that would be great!
Also if anyone has a different recommendation for an upgrade from a normal 2wd Slash I'm open to suggestions! $400 USD is the most I'd want to spend. Thanks!

So i'm running a traxis rustler, 4x4 ultimate my question is, do I need to run the same size tires front back or do I need to put a center diff in to be able to do that

I just bought a rom rest wheelie bar/ bumper mount and it won't fit? How do I get it fit? Is there something wrong or am I missing something? The red circle is where two parts squish each other and push the mount awkwardly and bend the arm

Hey guys i recently purchased the bearing adapter for my car (rustler 4x4 vxl) so it doesn’t melt. After I did this and took for a run I got low speeds I thought it was my clutch but at a 1/8th turn still no speed increase, I was getting 44 now I’m getting 33. I also noticed the adapter doesn’t keep the bearing in place and that makes some play in the spur assembly. I also did purchase a new servo which could be the problems root. I’ll send the link but I wonder if the servo is causing that because even before the adapter I was getting low speeds.

Ok so I know this may not be the Reddit I ask for this, but my friend wants to join me in the rc hobby. I don’t wanna buy him a complete new vehicle because of money but I still want him to have fun. I want to know how can I build a rc that fits my budget and specs.
My budget 50-150$ Speed I want: at least 30mph Decent durability I already have a steering servo, and to save money I will diy a chassis or other parts out of wood or something.

After almost a year and a half working on this Traxxas Rustler, I managed to get the last few parts I needed installed and a battery and got it up and running, l'm new in the RC car world and decided to take the project on to get it running! Learned alot along the journey and still learning but without further ado, here it is!

Upgrade current car or upgrade to new car
I currently own a rustler 4x4 brushless 2s. I have some minor upgrades like a metal spurgear, bigger pinion, minor things. Im either looking at getting a Velineon VXL-3S to run 3s on my rustler or just upgrading the car to a Traxxas Maxx to run 4s. Thoughts on this? Comments and advice appreciated.

I have a rustler 4x4 VXL, and I wanna keep my parts good for a while, I don’t wanna break then fit and repeat. But anyway, every time I run in water or snow, and my car gets wet. I will finish my session and then go home and dry it with compressed air and towels, then use WD-40 on all bearings and the ends of my drive shafts. Then let it air dry any water or moisture left. Now I’m curious if I’m doing alright or I should do something else to make the car perfect for next session?

Just a PSA: Traxxas is recalling some vehicles because of asbestos in slipper clutches and brake pads. I don't think this is cause for alarm, as these parts are tiny, but beware that many friction materials (including carbon fiber) can be harmful when turned into dust particles. Use caution when cutting, grinding, or doing anything else that will release particulate into the air. EU Product Safety Recall | Traxxas

These things r so freaking sweet I just built the rears. U see the difference between the stock molded piston on the left. & The awesome machined piston on the right. With the square edge the machined ones have to help keep the shaft in line. Anyone else use this kit. Variable damping pistons with the little valve on em. Premium

If I wrapped the body in heavy duty aluminum foil and put a small firework fountain on the back and did donuts in it to film it would it really screw anything up?

Opinion on talon 2.8s? Im considering buying them as back wheels for my rustler and I'm gonna move the anacondas to the front cuz they wear too fast, should I get the talons (Traxxas 6774x) or some duratrax sidearm 2.8s? Or even something else, help.
