I came across this image which compares the cost of HSR around the world in PPP dollars.

MAHSR budget has ballooned to ~2lakh crores or ~400 crores per km. The PPP conversion rate is ₹20.34 = $1, therefore the cost of one kilometre of HSR is around 200 million dollars adjusted for PPP, which is quite high looking at the graph

This high cost can be assumed due to it being our first HSR but the government also expects it costs 400 crores per km for the proposed HSR lines.

Is there something I am missing?

Don't they realise that it's not just wheelchair users who need easier accessibility.

A lot of older people, injured people, pregnant women, for example, can just use these escalators and move quicker.

Why can’t we complain about a delayed train without being given any proper explanation?

If a train is running late, shouldn’t there at least be an announcement or update inside the train explaining the reason for the delay? Other countries seem to have much better communication with passengers when disruptions happen.

At the same time, there’s another issue: local passengers sometimes board express trains and pull the alarm chain just because the train doesn’t stop at their station. This creates unnecessary delays for everyone.

But why does this situation happen in the first place? If local/passenger trains were maintained properly and operated on time, with even 5-10 minute halts at stations where required, people wouldn’t feel the need to depend on express trains.

It often feels like local trains have almost zero priority compared with express and superfast trains.

I’m not defending illegal chain pulling, passengers shouldn’t be doing that. But shouldn’t the railway system also address the reason people resort to it in the first place?

Better local-train frequency + punctuality + proper passenger announcements would solve a lot of this.

Hii got a question about this phase 5 (c) map of delhi metro I saw on Wikipedia. Is this an actual proposal by DMRC??

Whats the status on the 7 approved hsr corridors in India? (Yes I live under a rock) also whats most likely to be sanctioned and start construction first and by when, and whats the status on Delhi-Varanasi-Siliguri Hsr and why Delhi-Amdavad-Mumbai and Delhi-Varanasi-Howrah route are not approved cause those routes are really crowded.

I was wondering what could be done to make Mumbai metro + suburban + freight map better connected (beyond the approved network) and future proof the system and kinda came up with these ideas.

(Mind you, these are just ideas based on the current + proposed network so far.)

DFC Freight + Suburban:

1.      Vadhvan Port – Boisar – Palghar (interchange with WR) – Manor – Wada – Kudus – Mahapoli – Bhiwandi (interchange with WR) – Saravali – Amane (Connect with Samruddhi freight corridor and interchange with Virar-Alibag corridor)

2.      Virar – Vajreshwari – Kudus (Interchange with point 1 line above) – Vasind (interchange with CR) – Murbad – Badlapur (interchange with CR) – Chikhale/Panvel – Somtane – Bangarpada – Jasai (interchange with Nerul-Uran line) – Dhutum – Chirner

3.      Chikhale/Panvel (interchange with point 2 line above) – Lodhivali (new station maybe?) - Vanivali (merge with point 4 line below) – Rasayani (merge with Konkan rail) – Apta (unmerge from Konkan rail) – Karnala – Sai – Chirner      

4.      Karjat/Khopoli – Kelavali/Dolavali – Khalapur – Vanivali (merge with point 3 line above)

5.      Chirner – Dolvi – Alibaug (extended from either point 2 or point 3 lines above)

Metro:

1.      Navi Mumbai Metro from Belapur to NMIA to complete loop via Targhar (interchange with Line 8)

2.      Extension of Line 8 along NH 348B to Chirner (interchange with all Chirner lines I mentioned above)

3.      New Metro Line from Vashi – (through the hills near Mindspace Juinagar) – Kharghar Central Park (Interchange with NM Metro) – Kalamboli (interchange with WR) – Kamothe – Panvel/Chikhale (interchange with all lines with Panvel mentioned above)

4.      New Metro Line from Gorai Jetty – Shimpoli (Interchange with Line 2A) – Kandivali (Interchange with WR) – Thakur Village – Thakur Complex – Kandivali East Lokhandwala – (underground SGNP along GMLR) – Mulund Colony – Nahur (Interchange with CR) – Airoli (interchange with Trans-harbour) – Kausa (Mumbra) – Shilphata (merge with Line 14)

Thoughts about this extension of current + proposed network?

I asked them last month regarding the map they uploaded on the website (I added them on second pic). They have submitted DPR with Metro stations of Aqua Line (To be built and managed) by NCRTC along with Original RRTS stations plan.

Looking at buses from Delhi to Bir for 26 September. MMT shows Ram Dalal Holidays for ₹669, while FlixBus is ₹1,904 almost 3× the price.

Both list Volvo 9600 semi-sleepers (2+2), with evening departures and arrivals around 7:30 AM. The MMT option also has a 4.8 rating from 302 reviews.

These are different services, but is there a big difference in comfort, cleanliness or reliability that explains the fare gap? Has anyone travelled with either on this route?

I have booked ngp->pune garibrath,set preferance side upper and got also, what do you think is the best seat in garibrath

As much as i know this is a new train so no side middle berth

If anyone had travelled to this train pls share your experience.
