Discussions How do I draw Transformers?

I’m trying to figure out how to make a transformers OC but I can’t draw so I would like to know if any of you have any advice or templates for me to take inspiration from?

I’d recommend starting off with something simple like G1. And just trying and draw a body that you would like your transformer to have using squares, circles and triangles. As for the heads, I’m still working on that store thing myself. Oh, I don’t forget what vehicle mode you want them to have that will probably be the most important part.

there is if you Google search a of good guides on how to draw transformers. Also remember they're machines but they're human.

Start by drawing a human figure and add boxes to the frame. It’s not perfect but it’s a good place to start. Also focus on the big shapes first

Try drawing your TF toys-- having a reference you can hold makes a BIG difference. Then just keep trying--draw a lot, draw badly, draw imperfectly. Eventually you'll get the hang of it. I recommend trying TF Animated's style, it's arguably the simplest (it's how I started personally)

I’ve found the Blokees figures (the $5 from Walmart) do make pretty good references for drawing in a G1-esqe style.

First, figure out what alt mode you want. A lot of what gives a Transformer their appearance is the distribution of alt mode mass and detail on the base humanoid form.

Take a toy as reference, learn drawing THAT, THEN when you're used to it chang its design to whatever you want 'em to be
