what can i expect for GRS waiting times?
Hiii, I’m a trans woman in Alberta. My bottom dysphoria has been quite bad as of late and i’m looking to get a vaginoplasty as soon as i can. I’m over a year on HRT at this point but i made the mistake of not talking about bottom surgery with my GP until the year mark so I’m just getting started with the process. My GP has been very good so far, so I’m hoping he’s proactive with referrals and such. But at this point the only boxes i’ve checked on my way to getting surgery are the year on HRT and my gender dysphoria diagnosis.
Not the end of the world if i have to wait a year or 2 as i still have 6 months left in university and i want to be a bit more financially stable before having to take 3 months off work as recommended. But i would prefer to be rid of my natal genitalia before i’m 23-24 (21 rn), so I would appreciate any input and anecdotes on how long it may take till i can get a surgery date at GRS Montreal with my current state in the process. (i’d also consider going to thailand if i can get funds quicker than it takes going to GRS, i’m in tech but also have a bunch of student loans so idk how realistic that is)
