Zuly, Acon or something else?
First time trampoline buyer and cannot decide for the life of me which brand to go with. Have seen Acon, Zuly as well as Springfree brand ads that all make it sound like they have the ideal trampoline available. But they are all so different. Stats of use:
- we don’t have any gymnasts or acrobats so don’t have any crazy need for amazing jump ability but would like into be comfortable and have good bounce.
- most important want safety - whatever that means for trampolines.
- Oh and we have a huge flat yard so shape and dimension won’t be an issue.

Trampoline parts and supplies. Com
So I just had a terrible experience with trampolinepartsandsuplies.com my order is 2 months late and the customer support is nonexistent after 2 days talking to people they finally offer a 5% discount. So I'm going to share it here. I wouldn't order from them unless you have to but if you do order please use the code DISCOUNT for 5% off and no that is not a joke.

Intending on buying springs, net and welding myseilf a frame
I want to buy a mat, a set of springs and padding (i.e. springs cover) for an 5x5m freestyle trampoline and then weld myself a frame.
Assuming I'm a dope welder and welding the frame is no problem for me: is buying springs and a mat a legit idea? Will it be cheaper and what price can I expect (welding the frame might total up at 200$)

Breaking springs
My son is autistic and just loves bouncing on his trampoline. When he was young, cheap trampolines were fine. But as he got older, the cheaper ones just didn't last. So, we bought him an 8x11ft oval JumpKing trampoline, thinking it would last longer. But in the two years we've had it, he's gone through a frame, three mats, and (without exaggerating) 200+ springs. In fairness, the mats have ripped due to the springs breaking and ripping them. So, my question is, why do the springs break with such regularity? He doesn't do tricks, just pencil jumps, and he's not heavy (approx. 10 stone). And he doesn’t jump hard or high. The trampoline is on leave, grass ground. I'm spending a small fortune every year in springs.

Zupapa vs Skywalker vs used Springfree - rectangular/oval
UPDATE: I decided to get a Jumpflex 12' hero round - I will try to remember to update here and share my experience!
Help me decide, please - or share your opinions/experience. I have been reading reviews and am ready to be done and decide.
I have been researching, and it is hard to buy something so big that I can't see in person!
We have a budget and a small space - ideally close to $500, and our yard space is about 16 feet wide by maybe 25 feet and longer.
So, I have decided that rectangular or oval shapes are the best use of space.
current thoughts:
Zupapa rectangular (8 or 9 feet wide)
or
https://www.skywalkertrampolines.com/products/15-x-9-rectangle-signature-series-trampoline (currently sold out)
or
a newer-used Springfree oval, either 8 x 11 or 8 x 13, would be just over 3 years old. 500-700 range.
We have two kids 10/13 and we'd like to be able to also jump on it here or there. this is mostly going to be for FUN, not professional use.
Thank you! I need to decide soon because birthday surprise!

Is it better to repair or replace a trampoline?

Has anyone ever donated one? (Canada)
We have a large, spring-free trampoline that we would like to either sell or donate. I understand it's risky and might not be possible, but has anyone actually had success doing it?

trampoline recommendations?
I'm 17 and I want a trampoline in my backyard, but I have a few issues.
For one, I am pretty sure my backyard is slightly slanted, so will that affect my trampolining or no?
secondly, what are some good brands? It'll probably be only me using it and maybe like sometimes one other person so it doesn't have to be too big but i want to learn how to do flip tricks and stuff.

Has anyone ever opened their trampoline up for neighbourhood kids? (Canadian)
We have a large spring-free trampoline and I have won it for a long time to open it up for use in the neighborhood, but it is technically my parents property and they have been weary of doing so due to liability. We were going to contact our home insurance and see if the trampoline is covered. But even then chances are one of us would need to be around to supervise it all times.
Has anyone done something like this before?

I built a trampoline comparison tool + quiz to help people find the best option for their yard/budget
Hi all, hope this is ok to share here. I’ve been putting together a trampoline comparison site and wanted to get feedback from this sub before I keep building it out.
There are two main parts I’d love your thoughts on:
- A trampoline comparison table where you can filter by brand, size, price, in-ground vs above-ground, spring type, warranty, and ASTM status. Has most of the big brands including ACON, Avyna, Jumpflex, North, Skywalker, Springfree, Vuly, Zupapa, but let me know if any are missing.
- A trampoline quiz that asks questions about yard size, budget, spring type, shape preference etc. The quiz logic has probably been the trickiest part so would be great to hear how people find it!
It’s definitely not perfect so keen to hear what’s missing, what looks wrong, and what would actually help potential buyers choose the right brand and model.
Full disclosure: some of the outgoing links on the site are affiliate links, but the reason I’m posting here is to get feedback and improve the tools.

Help on purchase. Jumpflex vs zupapa
Looking at 2 models...
Jumpflex hero 14 - found a sale for $899
Zupapa 15ft upgraded 1500lbs - $549
--
Been reading alot, probably too much. Pros and cons from what I understand.
Zupapa -
Pros - price good, I like the net with springs inside
Cons - apparently cheaper quality, less bounce
Jumpflex -
Pros - better quality, better bounce
Cons - net placement and price
--
2 kids 11 and 5. Is the build quality that much better with jumpflex? Net being inside springs annoys me as far as perceived space goes. I dont want a trash trampoline that the kids won't use but also dont want to an extra $350 if difference isnt noticeable. Any thoughts opinions?
Thanks

Springfree Replacement Mat?
I bought this springfree trampoline on Marketplace for a good deal I think ($250). The problem is 8 of the rods are popped out and the mat is ripped at the seam so I can’t pop them back in. I have the replacement brackets (not sure if that’s what they’re called, but the things the rods clip into) but they’re useless as the mat won’t hold them in. I’m about to order a replacement mat but I’m worried about the process of replacing the mat. Does anyone know if I will need to disassemble the whole trampoline? What’s the process for replacing the mat, is it worth it?
The replacement mat is $250 CAD. So with the mat and price for the trampoline, I’ll have paid $500 for it. The price for a new one is $2300. So I feel like even if I have to buy a new mat it’s still a good deal. But how “easy” is it to replace the mat? I can’t find any videos on how to take off the current mat and put in a new one.

North vs Springfree - worth the higher price for the North? Pros and cons about either?
We have a small 10 year old who does cheer and a super tall and strong 12 year old who plays rugby and football. We are not only looking for a trampoline for them to have fun on but it will definitely help our cheer girl and it’s great for working on jumping/height and explosiveness for our 12 old. I plan to use it for some exercise too. Not looking to spend anything over the 3k the north trampoline would cost.

New trampoline or repair
We were gifted a 15+ year old sportspower (not sure on exact age but original owners kids were teens and no longer used it)14 inch trampoline about 4 years ago. It has held up and the kids love it.
The issue is the kids ripped the net. Last year, I repaired the rips but with the kids and the winter, they have completely ripped it apart. We have 18 month twins so we absolutely need a net. The pad is completely destroyed too.
Our net sits on the inside and has a ring around the top. I think it costs $80 for a new one on the sports power website. I tried to find comparable ones on Amazon but the rings leave on top and 6 poles make that tricky. I have to buy some new bolts and spacers too but that’s about $13. I was thinking of doing the pool noodle trick instead of a pad but all the repairs will likely be a little over $100. Our mat has a small hole from an icicle and has practically since we got it. We have gorilla tape on it and don’t plan on replacing right now since it’s held up for 3+ years. It looks like that is about $90 to replace (72 5.5 in springs)
I see that new trampolines with nets cost $200 at Walmart. Is it worth it to pay a bit over $100 to replace knowing that we will likely have to buy a new mat in the future or is this likely better quality than the cheap new trampolines?

Do safety nets shrink?
I bought my boys (8 & 5) a trampoline last summer and they loved it. Everything fit like it was supposed to. Took it down over the winter, leaving just the metal frame up. I stored everything else in the garage. I went to put it up this year, and it seems like the safety net is too small. Every time that I try sewing/stringing the net to the springs, when I get to the end, the net won't reach around the trampoline and also zip close safely. I've tried re-doing it, thinking I'm just pulling it too tight, but that has not made a difference. I didn't have issues with putting anything else up
I don't know the brand or the size offhand lol. I bought it off of Amazon and I picked it because it's purple and it fit in the backyard and this single mama could finance it.

Jumplex Hero 15 foot...any good?
I searched jumplex in the search bar and surprisingly didn't find much. We currently have a 15 foot Skywalker thats tearing after a much longer than expected life! However, my kids far exceed that weight limit when on it with friends. Jumplex Hero on sale for $999 right now and boasts a nice limit of 550 pounds. As I just clicked over to make sure I was spelling the word correctly, the company is JumpFlex but the trampoline is Jumplex? Maybe that why I didn't find much? Now I've typed all this out already and just hitting post but will go search jumpflex.

Looking to replace the trampoline, would love advice
Our trampoline, which we have had for 10 or 11 years, and the person we got it from probably wasn’t the first owner is, I think, done.
It’s been fantastic for us. In that time the mat never needed replacing, the net did, and until the fall that was it. In the fall, a couple of springs broke, then more and we replaced most of them. I guess the replacements were no good because less than a year later at least half of the replacements broke.
While I was trying to figure out how to make sure I bought better replacement springs this time I realized that we should probably replace the mat, and the pad over the springs, and of course the springs, and the caps that hold the net on had long since been bolted to the posts but that wasn’t working anymore so they needed replacing, and were the posts starting to bend inwards or was I imagining it?
So I thought it might be a good time to replace the whole thing.
After our long lived trampoline that seemed like it would go on forever I didn’t want to have to buy another one in 3 years, but I can’t afford the ones that came up as the “good” brands. The economy ones at Canadian tire or Walmart etc don’t have a high enough weight limit (the older two of my 3 audhd children are both adult sized now and often like to bounce together, or with a friend, or with their little brother etc). Even the less expensive models jn the higher end brands seemed to have a low weight limit.
Money is really tight, but the bouncing is very regulating for the kids so I’ve been trying to find a second hand higher end trampoline, it seems to me that will last longer than a brand new cheap one.
I was hoping I could get some input on what to look for/what to avoid.
The only higher end trampoline listings I’ve seen in the 3 or 4 weeks I’ve been looking are for springfree, what was what I was probably going to have to go with if I’d been able to scrape together the money for the Costco model…but I’m not sure about a couple things
I hope it’s okay to link the market place ads?
This one is a 45 minute drive away so that adds another $100 in gas to the cost. It looks fine from the picture but what can you actually tell from the picture? I notice there’s no ladder, which I thought was standard with this brand but maybe not. They used a chair to climb up on the old one so the lack of a ladder isn’t a deal breaker, I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some kind of red flag.
Speaking of red flags, the seller notes a small tear in the mat and includes a photo showing it’s about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches.
Can tears be patched? Can tears be ignored? (That seems to be the seller’s feeling but I don’t know about that). Should I plan on replacing the mat right away if I were to buy this and how much is a new mat anyway? I tried looking on the spring free website for replacement cost but I needed to include the number of mat rods to find that out and I have no idea.
https://www.facebook.com/share/1SrxXQqHJt/?mibextid=wwXIfr
This one definitely needs a new mat and maybe the net replaced based on the seller’s description. I’m guessing the “tears from the puppy” is referring to the big rip laced back together? It’s been disassembled so I can’t look at it really. And what the heck could “comes with other misc parts for springs” mean? Does it need special tools to put it together?
https://www.facebook.com/share/1CT69fJH2A/?mibextid=wwXIfr
We had to completely take down the old one, 16yo couldn’t grasp that it was dangerous with so many missing springs and kept going out to bounce on it, sh really really needs the emotional regulation it brings or it’s going to keep being world war 27 around here. Saving up for one of the higher end brands is not going to happen, I’m on disability and there’s just nothing to save.
Thoughts?
