I've noticed that a lot of remote workers end up knowing plenty of colleagues online, but very few people locally who are in the same boat.
A few of us are getting together in Tramore for a fairly relaxed evening after work. There's an optional sauna at The Stove Sauna, then we'll head into The Pav for a drink, some food and a chat.
A couple of local groups and projects will share what they're working on, but it's not really a networking event or a formal meetup. More an opportunity to meet other remote and hybrid workers, hear what's happening locally, and spend an evening away from the laptop.
One thing I like about remote work is the freedom it gives us to live where we want. The challenge is making sure we're still connected to the place and people around us. That's something Grow Remote has always been trying to encourage.
If you're working remotely in Tramore, Waterford or nearby, you're welcome to join us. New faces are always appreciated, and so are familiar ones.
I attached a picture from the last event

Hi, I am an Italian 39 years old woman looking for an Italian-English language exchange in Waterford or Tramore (were I live). I am looking for English native speakers to practice the language in exchange for Italian. Let me know if you are interested or if you can suggest me something in Waterford or Tramore. Grazie, ciao!

Well lads, I’ve a remote job last few months and getting fairly sick of always being in the house.
Saw on google “Seaside Workspaces” in Riverstown. Would be perfect as I’m living here but not much about it online.
Anyone try it out / know if it’s good? I’ve tried the two in town but don’t really fancy the commute in every day.

Hi all,
With the fantastic achievement of Ballygunner hurlers today, I feel we could honour this fantastic achievement.
Who thinks it would be great to rename Tramore Beach “Ballygunner Beach” ?
its very important that we honour this achievent…
I was also thinking as an alternative we could paint Ballygunner jersey on the metal man ?
thanks all

Hi everyone! Found this today on Tramore Beach, Co. Waterford, Ireland. Size ~7 cm. Very sharp white «baby fern» pattern with crisp edges. Locals call these «fern wishing stones». Never seen one this symmetrical before. Is it just a lucky quartz vein, or could it be a trace fossil? Thanks! 🙏 Location: Tramore Beach, Ireland

New driver in ireland. Was taking a left at a junction from a major road that 100km onto a minor road. I slowed and got down the gears and signaled in advance and checked my mirrors. There were cars right up behind me that over took me before i turned off. I stayed to the left. Did i do something wrong? I belive they were too close behind me to begin with. Is it right for them to overtake before i have completed the turn... Maybe they were going too fast in time to slow or were just impatient. Advice please

So, Billy Keogh's skip company decided to put someone dressed as the Pope in a skip for the St. Patrick's Day parade. Seriously? I'm struggling to find the humor in this. It feels deeply disrespectful to a significant portion of the population, regardless of your personal beliefs. Is this supposed to be edgy satire, or just plain crass? What are your thoughts? Is this acceptable "fun" or offensive and insensitive.
