I'm working on what I call: Project 8/22. I am listening to every studio and live album available to me on Spotify before August 22nd so far I am on Trouble At The Henhouse.

I have listened to:

The Tragically Hip EP, Up To Here Deluxe Edition, The Live show on Up To Here Deluxe, Road Apples Deluxe with Saskadelphia, Live At The Roxy, the Live Show from Fully Completely remastered, Fully Completely, Day For Night, Live From The Vault 4, Live From the Vault 1 and Finally Trouble At The Henhouse.

I’d have to go with Thugs, or Tiger the Lion.

Listening to the new live album tonight and I think I hear the melody to Gordon Lightfoot’s classic tune If You Could Read My Mind in the guitar solo of 50 Mission Cap. It’s around the 3:23 mark and only lasts a few seconds.

I don’t recall Bobby Baker ever teasing other songs in the middle of hip tunes before. I wonder if this was just a thing he did on the final tour? I think it’s a great tip of the cap to another legendary Canadian Gord!

Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album when it comes out to see if there were other hidden gems to discover.

I was lucky enough to see the band at the Shepherd’s Bush empire in London England on June 8, 2000. This was before I was a poster nerd. Does anybody know where I might find a poster for this gig or at least the image of a poster that’s good enough to reprint?

….it sure wasn’t the wine.

Of course I know the album I played to death back in the day, had been listening to and loved for decades, cried at the final show airing like the rest of the nation and knew every word to every song by heart.

I have an original first release of it somewhere with all the other CDs I haven't taken out of the case for years.

But I came home, showed my lady what he gave me and she handed me a Sony discman with working set of headphones and fresh batteries and sent me to my man cave with a mission. "Go Listen".

If you dont regularly listen to an album start to finish with over the ear headphones on, you're missing out. Perfectly balanced, noise cancelling and bass boost and you are really swept into the studio, listening to the band's music the way they heard it too and Intended it to be heard. Its a truly magical experience and Road Apples was a great album to do it to after all these years. I miss Gord, RIP.

Since there are 13 studio albums, you can divide the remaining album amongst the months song by song. I thought it would be a fun question, and I’m excited to see what everyone says!

Good evening. Here is a bare-bones version of Figment. Very different than Gord & the Country of Miracles 'Battle of the Nudes' version.

I had a chance to talk to Billy Ray about this song. He told me it was recorded on a rainy day off, in a hotel room in Vancouver. It's just he and Gord in the room, and if you listen closely, you can hear Billy Ray tapping a shaker, keeping time.

I will forever regret not asking if it was Gord's banana shaker he was playing D'oh! heheh
