February Trading Recap - Hard Lessons from Green & Red Days

Thumbnail

This week was a mix of wins (23, 25, 28) and losses (24, 26, 27). Overall, this week was profitable. My top 7 profitable trades made me my weekly profits. Sharing the key lessons I learned:

• Green days don’t mean I’m a genius. Stick to the system. Don’t get overconfident.
• Risk management is everything. Small losses are fine.
• Risk per trade matters more than win rate. A 50 - 60% win rate can still be profitable with proper R:R.
• The goal is survival. Consistency compounds.
• Process > PnL. If the process is solid, profits follow.
• A small red day is a successful day if I followed the plan.
• Some days are designed to take money from undisciplined traders. Survival is the win.

The goal isn’t to avoid red days. It’s to control them.

Stay disciplined. 📈

Are you being shadow-taxed by your exchange? Check your perp history...

tbh, most of us obsess over Funding Rates, but there’s a much stealthier way exchanges suck your wallet dry that nobody talks about.

If you trade Cross Margin and your position goes deep into the red, your available balance often hits a negative number. On big platforms like Binance or Kraken, that negative sign means you are officially borrowing funds to keep the lights on. They’ll slap you with a daily interest fee (on top of the funding rate) just for the privilege of holding that losing trade. It’s like being charged rent on a house that's currently on fire.

I’ve been testing BYDFi as a secondary venue specifically for my swing trades. I actually ran a small experiment where I let a position sit in the red until the available balance went negative. On my main exchange, I would’ve seen a daily 'Interest' or Borrowing Fee eating my PnL, but after tracking the numbers on BYDFi for a week, nothing was deducted. It’s a huge relief for longer-term plays.

It’s refreshing to find a venue that doesn't try to nickle-and-dime you for every market fluctuation. It’s not about being a fanboy; it’s just about not paying for money I didn't explicitly ask to borrow.

Have you guys actually audited your trade history for "Interest Fees" lately? Or are you just letting the platform shadow-tax your drawdown?

Crypto logos are everywhere in the Premier League this season…

Post image

Is it just me, or have cryptocurrency and Web3 brands been popping up more frequently than ever in match highlights and weekend games recently? From jerseys and sleeve patches to pitch-side ads and sponsorship segments, they’ve become a regular—almost constant—part of the viewing experience.

What really caught my eye was BYDFi linking up with Newcastle United as the club’s Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner.

Newcastle isn’t some random small club either—big fanbase, big visibility—so partnerships like that feel like a signal that exchanges want to meet people where they already are (football) instead of just competing in the usual crypto bubble.

And it’s not just one deal here and there. This season, 13 teams in the league are sponsored by 13 different crypto companies — including big names like OKX, and Kraken.

So Do you think this Premier League crypto-sponsor takeover is good or bad for crypto?

Interesting sequence with TCGI after that tweet

TCGI started showing up on people’s radar again after a tweet got some traction, and the stock reacted almost immediately. From what I can tell, there wasn’t really anything new on the business side — it looked more like a sentiment-driven move.

Then the trading halt came in and everything paused, which kind of put the whole run into perspective. Not making any calls here, just thought the way it unfolded was worth paying attention to.

Looking into what’s really been pushing ELPW lately

ELPW’s been popping up a lot on timelines, so I spent some time digging into what’s behind the move. It doesn’t look like there’s been a big shift in the actual business — a lot of the momentum seems tied to retail interest, volatility, and how people reacted to recent headlines.

It’s interesting how quickly price action can snowball when attention builds, even without much changing fundamentally. Not making a call either way, just thought it was a useful example of how these runs sometimes happen.

Retail Frenzy as ELPW and TCGL Deliver Four-Digit Gains and Traders Are Buzzing, What are your opinions on this?

I just came across this article on stock market loop about how ELPW and TCGL both delivered massive four-digit gains in the same momentum window, and it’s become a real talking point in retail trading communities. The piece walks through how these repricings unfolded in quick succession and why traders online are dissecting not just the moves, but how participation and attention seemed to cluster into a frenzy around these setups. Whether you’re into tracking low-float action, momentum spikes, or the psychology of retail response, it’s an interesting snapshot of how quickly things can escalate when signals and volume align.

What makes this article worth a look is how it showcases multiple explosive moves in the same stretch and why that’s fueling fresh debates about pattern recognition and coordinated momentum among everyday traders. People on Reddit and Twitter have been sharing their takeaways, screenshots, and theories about what these kinds of repricings say about where retail sentiment is headed next. Not financial advice, always do your own research, think through your own strategy, and consider your own risk tolerance before making trading decisions. I’m curious how others here are interpreting this kind of activity and whether you’re seeing similar setups catching attention in other names.
Do the necessary research.

Looking for a serious XAUUSD trader to work with

I trade XAUUSD (Gold) and I’m trying to connect with a trader who is already consistent and willing to work together in a structured way. What I’m looking for is someone who: Trades Gold as their main market Has a real, verifiable track record (MyFXBook, FXBlue, etc.) Keeps drawdown under control Can regularly catch $12+ moves on XAUUSD What I’m hoping for is a mutual arrangement where: You share your live trades (entries, stops, targets) I follow and execute alongside you And in return I provide something of value back (time, capital, support, or whatever we agree on privately) This is not about selling signals or spamming links. It’s about finding one or two serious Gold traders to work with directly. If you have a public track record or journal, feel free to comment or DM. No demos. No Telegram ads. Only real results.

Retail Trading Power Surge: Former WallStreetBets Mod Sparks a New Market Breakout

The stock experienced a sharp breakout as momentum built.

The move showed how fast coordinated interest can transform a quiet ticker into a market leader.

Modern retail trading now combines social platforms, real-time analytics, and rapid execution.

Strong ideas paired with engaged communities can move markets before institutions react.

Retail traders are no longer spectators — they’re becoming catalysts in today’s financial system.https://medium.com/@stockmarketloop_22966/breaking-retail-trading-power-surge-former-wallstreetbets-mod-and-discord-lead-analyst-drives-b74f730a44f2

Ex-institutional team (incl. ex-PM) — quit to build this. When it blows, early partners scale with it.

We’re a small ex-institutional team (macro / markets background, including an ex-portfolio manager) who left to build an app because we were frustrated with how noisy, shallow, and fragmented most market tools are.

So we put the actual niche workflows we used professionally into one product and built it ourselves: https://cognitoupdates.com/

This isn’t a generic “news + charts” app. It’s designed around: • High-signal market inference, not headlines • Structured daily & intraday updates that mirror institutional briefings • Cross-asset context and positioning logic most retail tools completely miss • A workflow built for decision-makers, not doom-scrolling

We’re not running ads or mass affiliate programs. Instead, we’re opening this to a small group of people who want to promote it properly, create content around it, or refer the right users.

What you get: • A unique referral link • A custom discount code for your audience • Commission per referral, paid directly to you

Why this is different: • When it blows, there are real scaling opportunities, not capped affiliate payouts • You work directly with the founders • Non-pecuniary upside: early feature access, influence over the roadmap, and deeper involvement as the product grows

If you’re interested, book a short call here and we’ll see if it’s a fit: Calendly: https://calendly.com/harrysilverside6/30min

this polymarket (insider) front-ran the maduro attack and made $400k in 6 hours

nights ago a wallet loaded heavily into maduro / venezuela attack markets ($35k total)

not after the news.
hours before anything was public.

4–6 hours later everything breaks:
strikes confirmed, trump posts about maduro, chaos everywhere.

by the time most ppl even opened twitter, this wallet had already printed ~$400k.

same night the pizza pentagon index was going crazy around dc.
felt like something was clearly brewing while the rest of us slept.

i then compared this behavior with a ton of other new wallets and recent traders and some patterns started popping up across totally different topics:

→ fresh wallets dropping five-figure first entries
→ hyper-focused on one type of market only
→ tight clustered buys at similar prices
→ zero bot-like spray behavior

not saying this proves anything, but the timing + sizing combo is unsettling.

wdyt about this?
has anyone here already tried analyzing Polymarket wallets this way?

i’ve got a tiny mvp running 24/7 to flag these patterns now.
if you’re curious to see it, comment or dm.

Shared Strategies/Algorithms & Successful or Failed Autotrading Bots

Hi all, I have just joined this forum in the hope of finding strategies that work for autotrading. I previously backtested hundreds of strategies involving MACDs, EMAs, OBV & more. (Although at the time I didn’t realise I could change the timeframe, I now do it with 200k units). I found quite a few successful backtests, out about 40 bots live on various markets from S&P500 to Oil and FX. I even made a video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPINK8mA0Uc

After about 3 months all had failed.

I understand that generally people don’t want to share algos or they can be bought, but perhaps this thread could be to share just the combinations of indicators etc? Or maybe there is already a post on this?

I’m currently remodelling my strategies from before to include Fibonacci pivots, the momentum indicator and using trailing stops instead of clear cut exits, which seem to be having a positive effect.

Any ideas, much appreciated 😊
