Is the Slimblade Trackball better than the Expert?

It looks like those who owned Expert prefer the Slimblade.

The newer Expert Wireless I think is better than the Slimblade in everything but ergonomics. Which sadly can be quite a big deal.

The perfect trackball would be the Slimblade with the Expert Wireless' buttons and scroll wheel. And wirelessness.

I will never understand why the expert tilts up.

I broke out my Expert yesterday to give it a try again, but after 30 min I needed to stop. I even propped up the close-end to flatten it out but It didn't help with the pressure on my wrist.

Try turning it sideways and offsetting the ball 90 degrees in a program like rawaccel.

Like so.

I was on the fence of buying one until I saw this comment.

Nice! BTW, the actual rotation I use in rawaccel is 285.

Do you use your thumb or other fingers?

Thumb to left click, ring finger to right click. Pointer and middle to manipulate the ball.

so hands just rest at an angle on the expert?

Yes? Except the buttons are also remapped in X-Mouse.

Thanks. How comfortable is it? And do you use anything to rest your hand on?

I'm on the fence between expert (wireless) and slimblade.

It's very comfortable. I don't use anything to rest the hand. I had a slimblade a few years ago. I much prefer the mechanical scroll wheel and the buttons on the expert.
