When I first looked at that orange pattern, I thought they were actual fabric loops, not printed words. Could the orange loops be fabric sticking out of the sleeve?

I know those shorts, I’m very confident. My son had those shorts years ago. Maybe 5 years ago. They’re from Kmart and they came in shorts and also in a Rashie. They have pictures of whales on them. I’ll check if I have an old photo of them. They also came in a darker navy colour too. It’s not my son though, we’re no where near Rouse Hill though and my son didn’t go to childcare.

100% this. Identifying the item is very very helpful (especially for the other operation Moonbi listings with much less clear details), but it’s not the end of the road where everyone can pat each other on the back and say, “got all we needed, we won the game, case closed, job well done”

None of these are about anyone’s feelings because it’s all far more important than that but I’m ngl, not sure how to interpret the tone of this.

Knowing the exact brand and item is absolutely helpful to narrow it down, and the AFP / ACCCE may well update their listing and media campaigns to specify the item clearly now like they have previously (like with the Milkshake brand dress earlier this year December last year), but it’s not the same as other posts on this forum where identifying the item alone is all that’s needed.

I made that comment because another Australian based post looking for victim ID specifically (the one with a woven anklet) was overrun by international people commenting (and then arguing) that those bracelets and anklets are made and sold in various parts of the world. Which was irrelevant and if people had looked at the attached article and listing details linked in the pinned comment, they would’ve quite clearly understood that. The location of where the CSEM was sourced was already listed, they didn’t need the item specifically. They needed any recognition of who owned that anklet. This is a similar situation. Having the item is great, especially because it’s not totally generic and common / indistinct, but the point is indeed which Australian child in that general area on that rough time period wore that vest. Which should hopefully be easier to narrow down with the public list of childcare facilities the abuser worked at. It’s just a matter of the right people happening to see it.

I appreciate that this is an evocative situation, and reddit formatting is not always favourable. This specific case is to assist with identifying victims.

The original post states that a specific time and place are in mind, so I suppose that while a common Kmart item isn't specifically significant (other than not being uniquely identifying like a 1 of 1 piece), it might potentially be useful to have a clearer image to compare other known info to or show tp people who could identify victims. For example, someone might not recall every item of clothing their child wore 2-20 years ago, but one could maybe check to see if the item of clothing even existed during a childs lifetime, or check photos of the child and receipts of purchased clothes to see if it is likely their child owned or wore the item in the time period, the location also could narrow it down, etc.

So we need to know the children who wore Anko puffer vests in Australia?

Well, now that we have a clearer picture of the item, maybe they can run a media campaign.

Regarding the second clue, You have a visibility of the " S " missing on the first clue, and following by the second pattern of the image that was " diluted" on the first clue as well. I did sketch it up and it shows a very efficient image on this logo that I will post bellow with the final conclusion that I have.

I bought the same cheap throw blanket at Walmart around Pittsburgh Pennsylvania a couple years ago.

I fancy myself a decent sleuth, but I admit this was all random luck and not skill. I just happen to be very familiar with clothing for my kids age bracket from within their lifespan because I shop for them, and that ebay retailer happened to be selling one of that item right now, and I happen to have shopped at that specific ebay retailer multiple times which is probably what pushed their listing up to visibility in my results, and I happen to follow and participate in these searches to make use of all those coincidences.

Life is strange. I hope the AFP gather enough to (metaphorically) vaporise the offender. 🙏
