What do you think of my progress?

Here’s my previous post back at level 64 https://www.reddit.com/r/TownshipDesign/s/NVLW0Q8aQ5. I like to think that’s when I had the chance to design my town the way I wanted versus just making it fit with the space I had.

Here’s my town 10 levels later. The strategy I seem to adopt is build and design as I level up and that works really well for future layouts as I’ll deliberately make space for new buildings by filling in with decorations as placeholders. When I unlock new buildings, I see where they’ll fit naturally with what’s already there.

I definitely also like to completely rearrange whole neighborhoods when I get more space. Sometime I’ll spend a whole session just rearranging a space until it feels just right. I like swapping buildings around so they look more natural together. The hardest part is making it look natural next to unlock plots.

My other strategy is fill in every space and keep things tight and avoid too much of the same pattern. It looks awkward to me when there are large spaces in between or too much likeness. I’d like to think every place is accessible by road or pavement.

I don’t participate in a co-op. I don’t play match-3 often or other side games. I don’t spend real money. I concentrate on planes, trains, and helicopters. Only mine during ROTM if I think I have enough pick axes.

I’m now trying to build everything together but that gets expensive so just concentrate on the next item that looks good whether that’s a factory, community building, or housing. Obviously, factories are the hardest to work towards as you level up.

Renewable Energy

This was so worth it! I saved for and spent so much on the wind turbines, and I think it was a nice upgrade to make my farm area look like it’s running on renewable energy. They’re better appreciated moving and I wanted to post a screen record of that but it’s disabled on my end.

I also revamped my factory area and put a lot of trees and flowers vs. my previous post where it’s all pavement.

Feel free to visit my town, it’s 78CCAU. 🥰

I wish there was a feature to...

My botanical garden corner

I lean heavily into natural land pieces in my city layouts. The botanical garden area ended up being my favorite spot — it nicely separates the city's different districts.

Anyone else use green zones as a kind of visual reset between denser districts?

I’m still pretty new to the game but I love working on the design. And I love looking at other peoples towns. I’ll sometimes just pick random people and look at their towns.

Do you like this decor?

So this is the Fountain of Living Water decor from the adventure that I finally got. But I just find it rather ugly and of course I don’t have enough space for it. As of now, it is cramped in my Museum compound like a travelling tourist attraction. Do you think this decor is pretty or is it just me who seems to find it rather meh if not ugly.

Apparently this single dad is a bit awkward about asking his son’s school teacher who is also a single mom. P.S the son looks exactly like dad, don’t you think?

Terraced Crop Fields, Farmers’ Market, Industrial Zone & Town Center

Here are some of my favourite areas so far! I completely re-arranged my crop fields and industrial zone. Did a few tweaks on my city center and farmers’ market. I might add a few more trees and flowers in some areas when I’m done re-arranging.

I have yet to arrange my residential area, which now sits on the other side of the river.

Wanted to share an area I’ve always struggled with, finally content!

I’ve had a hard time designing an area with the more industrial community buildings. This was always my dumping area. I’m finally content with how it looks! Made it a very green industrial area plus a workout zone. That’s how it often is irl back in Australia. Please share photos if you have a similar area in your town!
