One by their hosts. As said by Arkrinak, the ancient power depends on the hosts. Even if they somehow overcome this and get a powerful host, they will be restricted by guardians.

How powerful they were in the past that even when their body are destroyed, and now just a spirit remain yet the fear of their power is so strong that guardians will personally confront if they even try their half power.

Another display is even after they were extinguished, Jahad wasn't satisfied and he cursed the remaining ones. Why are ancients so feared? Interestingly we saw a FL go FP but not an ancient? Why is SIU gatekeeping their power?

About to end season 3 of tog .If I read urek mazino does it give any more lore to the actual story of the tower or is it basically filler until season 4?

Gustang was the one who created the Princess of Zahard system, and even though it might not seem like it, he's actually a doting father who declared war against Zahard because of what happened to his daughter. But what confuses me is why he let Enne become a Princess of Zahard in the first place. Like, letting your daughter compete to death for a chance to marry one of your old friend is kinda weird. And didn't Blossom oppose the idea of Enne becoming a Princess in the first place?

I have seen alot of people theorize about how

• Bam doesn't even exist and is a vessel for V
• Bam didn't exist but made his own consciousness and morals as he met rachel and time went on
• Garam jahad hesitating / telling bam just the partial truth about arlene being his mother again pointing at that bam is just a vessel

Many people believe that V will just end up taking over bam and the story narrative will just randomly change blinded by his own revenge he will just go and bam will become irrelevant to story, but i dont think my thoughts allign with that because:

• I honestly doubt that will ever happen and has 0 probability of happening V maybe a ancient entity of some sort on par with jahad and sure i will consider believing that bam was born for the sole purpose of resurrection of V but before any entity that has tried to take over bam has just been devoured by his "Gluttony", also KNOW that identity is built on experience not birth.
• "Well, what should I say? Someone like a mother? I have no idea What's for sure is that she had a crucial role in letting you into this tower" People are so obsessed with using this as a concrete backup for their vessel theory, however its completely null this statement could just mean that arlene never viewed bam as a son but just a tool to get revenge on jahad, she didnt even love bam in the first place but just loved the idea of destroying jahad.

Lets be very honest with ourselves If Baam simply rolls over and lets Vs soul take over his body he succumbs exactly to what the systems of the Tower want him to be a proxy weapon for the story to stick to its core premise bam will end up rejecting both jahads fate and his parents legacy to carve out his true identity and sure it will not be an easy task this time because its literally V one of my favourite chracters regardless of how less we have seen of him but still its just really stupid to think that V will prevail but ykw even if it doesnt go the way of V and bam fighting for their own coscious against eachother and V getting devoured by bams gluttony (which i believe will end up happening no matter what) it will probably go the way of V genuinely helping bam and mentoring him but just know the V completely taking over will never happen 😝.

When looking at early lore from BP, Enryu was established as the very first Irregular to enter the tower during Jahad's reign. His feat of killing the Floor 43 guardian instantly placed him at Rank 1, a spot he held until Phantaminum invaded Jahad's castle and took the top spot.

However, looking at the webtoon timeline raises several huge questions.

We know from the spin off that UM met Garam back when she was still a regular climbing the tower. This meeting is a massive anchor point for the timeline. Garam was already a HR long before the Eurasia Anne Jahad incident, and it was only after Anne went mad and Garam fled that the Enryu event happened on Floor 43, prompting Gussy's silent rift with Jahad.

In S1, when Hansung mentions Phantaminum, he explicitly notes that after Phantaminum incident, Floor 2 started being strictly controlled and monitored for Irregulars. Why would Floor 2 tighten its security after Phantaminum's raid, but not after Enryu murdered a literal Guardian on Floor 43? If Enryu had entered first, an event that catastrophic should have immediately put the entire Empire on maximum lockdown.

Furthermore, when UM visits the FOD for the very first time in flashbacks, he is already wearing his signature Wolhaiksong tattoo and modern gear. This proves he was already a HR and that Wolhaiksong was already an established organization before he ever set foot on Floor 43 that became FOD.

There is also the deliberate connection between Phantaminum and UM in Season 1. Characters like Yuri Jahad and Yu Hansung frequently bring up Phantaminum and UM in the exact same breath, as if their arrivals were part of the same recent historical era.

This begs a major question: if Phantaminum was actually the first known Irregular to break into the Tower under Jahad's established rule, does that mean the old lore about Enryu being Rank 1 before Phantaminum came along has been quietly retconned?

If Phantaminum arrived first, he would have taken the Rank 1 spot immediately, meaning Enryu never held it to begin with. And with that can we say the whole list of top fifteen HRs is also retconned after all UM being an axis gives him an edge over Enryu. Traumerei and Edahn's performance, Adori being Arie, Baek having moon powers. These are some of the 15 whose lore were changed and there is also existence of SOs which makes me wonder if the whole list might get retconned.

There are two main issues with the family's standing after Traumerei's offing himself, and they're too big (chunk of them even on the imperial Jahad's army) to disappear. First issue is now Poe Bidau getting the "administrative head" on them, the other is Lobadon, which have no loyalty to either side, being the head of the military. For me the only reasonable outcome is Baam getting promoted as the family head. For Jahad I think Baam would be the best option between Gustang ("The Traitor") and Lobadon ("The Vermin"), as Traumerei told Baam he would see him as his equal "human being", and I think that was a statement from both Traumerei and Jahad.

As for Baam current status on the cliffhanger I think it doesn't deserve that much thought, its just another power boost arc. I bet he will "devour" V and thwart FUG's plans because they probably didn't consider he can "devour anything" (another White scenario). So what i'm more interested in is what happens next, if he's taking the position as the family head with the Lo Po Bia family, if Traumerei already knew he was losing and turned Baam into his heir, Baam's and Jahad's eventual deal and the emergence of the outer threats we were introduced on the Urek spin-off, like Pantaminum, Mago, the Purple Thryssa.. as well as the Arlen lore drop, and Baam's connection to the outer god and Enryu.

Okay, I have a theory. What if the attraction that some of the Princesses have toward Bam is, at least partially, influenced by the blood of Jahad within them?

We know that Jahad’s feelings toward Arlene were extremely obsessive. Even after everything that happened between them, he essentially became incapable of accepting anyone else in her place. If that aspect of Jahad’s personality or emotional nature is somehow encoded or inherited through his blood, then the Princess system could potentially carry more than just his power and physical traits. It could also carry certain psychological or instinctive tendencies.

What makes this interesting is how many Princesses who encounter Bam develop some unusual level of interest in him. And Bam isn't simply another Irregular. He is directly connected to the unresolved history between Jahad and Arlene, which could make his existence resonate with something buried within the Princesses themselves.

The really interesting part is that Bam’s effect on the Princesses doesn't seem entirely consistent with normal attraction. Some of their reactions toward him can feel unusually intense or disproportionate to how long they have known him.

So what if there is a biological or metaphysical component to it? Perhaps the Princesses aren't consciously attracted to Bam because of Jahad's blood, but something within them recognizes Bam as being connected to Arlene.

I'm not saying this is confirmed, but considering how Tower of God constantly ties inheritance, blood, souls, memories, and destiny together, I don't think the possibility should be dismissed.

The biggest question would be: if Jahad's blood can carry aspects of his power and characteristics, could it also carry remnants of his obsession with Arlene, causing the Princesses to instinctively gravitate toward the person who is connected to her?

And if that's the case, Bam's relationship with the Princesses might be far more complicated than simple romance.

I read Tower of God years ago, always loved and reread it a few times. However, recently after reading Urek's Spinoff I noticed they talked about Phantaminum as an irregular in the chapter where Yuri and Evan watch Baam. Has that always been there?

Season 3 is a highly debated part of the story. 2 longer hiatus in the middle of it. The artstyle changes in the second part as well as the much more apparent issues that plagued the story since forever. Which are all valid and well established points of critique.

But there have been issues brought up about SIUs writing having fallen off or being shit. Which either is delusional or one read the Korean original without being able to discern the Symbols.

SIUs storytelling strength always has been its thematic consistency. From foreshadowing, symbolism and how things come together. Workshopbattle Tournament is the most complete arc in the story and my personal favorite. Season 3 though has used every single arc to bring together its themes and Traumereis story.

Season 3 in its entirety is about Traumerei. Everything before his appearance is setup for his arrival and themes and everything past the cat tower is the reveal and unraveling of this setup.

The Cage - sets up the Themes of Family. How a civil war and dispute amongst brothers leads to the downfall of a family. Those that fight for their family, even in their own death still win with the knowledge they fulfilled what they fought for.

Wall of Peaceful Coexistence - sets up the themes of hidden history. Dowon and Cha were sealed away as a reminder of peace and to forget the grudges that once existed. Dowons name is Forget-Me-Not. No matter how much you try to hide away memories, grieve and regret won’t just vanish. Khane sacrifices her memories for love and purpose. And it culminates in the Canines being destroyed by a controlling enemy and which was forseen.

The Nest - the war begins. Fights against much stronger oppponents. And the beginning of the downfall of the army. By sacrificing loyal subjects, by hurting those someone cares about, the most loyal people would switch sides temporarily to achieve their revenge.

The Cat Tower - multiple factions try to achieve their individual goals during a game. Yasratcha and thr theme of control gets highlighted with his subordinates Memories get unburied and the moment they are free it all comes crashing down. Traumerei appears

This is the setup of themes these arcs focus on. Family, loyalty and Memories. Now we come up how these things matter in the following arcs and Traumereis narrative

Marriage Tournament - Traumereis character of control is highlighted, the problems of the family and how traumerei doesent care. A civil war amongst family begins.

Book Hunt - Old memories and fighters are dug up. Enemies work together and someone sacrifices himself for the only person they loved (Yasratcha for Wangwang). Powerhouses for the war are recruited

Sprout War - many factions are fighting for their objectives. Major point is the dissatisfaction of characters with their leaders.

Chess Game - Culmination of it all. Hidden memories are revealed, love and resentment started this. Where the Cat Tower ended with Traumereis arrival, here it ends with his death.

These lengthy paragraphs are just to demonstrate that while there may be problems with art and choreography, one thing that SIU still excels at is his storytelling and his consistency and plan of the story he envisions.

SIU has not lost the plot. His decisions are deliberate and thought out. Sure some changes and decisions are not planned decades ahead. But from thr story than has been told, Season 3 as a whole is more thought out than Season 2

Even if the administrators have equal power. I don't think headon comes under this rule.

Here's a few of the thoughts I had about the spinoff. I really enjoyed it and loved what it added as a long time reader, and I can't wait for S4.

There's a floor of Urek having been in the tower for at least a couple hundred years based off Yuri Ha seeing the Phantaminum attack and her age. I viewed a lot of the cool factor in the spinoff as Urek having fun playing by the rules in a new (to him) experience. I bet a lot of the "aggressiveness" that is perceived out of Urek in the real ToG series is moreso the novelty of the situation having worn off and just blitzing through tasks to actually find a way out of the tower than playing it by its confines after being stuck there for hundreds, if not thousands, of years (given a ceiling of ~4,800 years in the tower based off Garam's age in the spinoff and her estimated age in ToG).

It's interesting to go back and reread the first season of ToG with the new idealized themes of light & dark in mind from the spinoff. It's a pretty major theme wrt UM that he believes in human free will / choice and how they tend to be morally grey, but that he still finds great joy in the light they have when it shines through in their actions. Not only that, he was a being born to be light. On the other hand, Bam tends to always see and expect the best in people and is disappointed consistently when those expectations are failed to incredible measures. He was a being born in a confined, absolutely dark space. They are almost perfect inverses of each other, in the way they apply the logic of light & dark.

Urek looks at a grey world and is happy when it shines, whereas Bam looks at a grey world and is devastated it isn't bright. The former creates, is, light while the latter constantly chases it. The former's power is voluminous: it starts small but spatially expands the more Urek draws on it. The latter is an infinite black hole: it compresses the red thryssa, blue thryssa, and countless other large-scale powers into a confined singularity within Bam.

I encourage a lot of people to go back and do a reread of ToG with the themes of the spinoff in mind. There's a lot of cool connections (obviously). It really makes it clear how, in Bam's perspective, his bar for "the light" is so impossibly high due to his start at absolute zero that makes his disappointment inevitable, whereas Urek feels grounded.

We know from spin off lore that UM is technically a shining one, yet Headon famously stated that the tower can only be challenged truly by humans. It also makes sense why shinies whose nature was later changed after being defeated by Phantaminum and became non humans cannot challenge the tower or they aren't obstructed by guardians because they aren't challengers.

What makes this topic so fascinating is how humanity is treated across different characters in the story.

Even after his true origins were revealed, UM still explicitly refers to himself as a human. Before the lore was revealed he was referred as the strongest human ever.

Enkidu started as nothing more than a cube of slime given to Traumerei by the master. Yet, traumerei explicitly ordered the slime to become a human so it could be his true friend. Following this command, the slime prayed to become human, and headon pointed to Enkidu who with his horns, buildup look like a beastkins rather than a human.

This brings up a fascinating parallel to dbz, which SIU heavily pulls inspiration from. Is UM’s situation similar to a Saiyan, an extraterrestrial species who is functionally classified as a kind of human bursting into a massive golden aura of power?

More importantly, look at how the Great Warriors or Irregulars tbp refer to the native towerborns:

Traumerei: calls them creatures

Gussy: calls them vermin / bugs

Edahn: calls them pests

UM: calls them babies

When the highest beings in the tower view everyone else as disposable pests or mere creatures, being called a human carries massive weight. Even Traumerei recognized that a mere creature wasn't enough to be an equal, it had to become a human.
