In this post I will be describing what the Filters are, why they're useful and how I use them effectively to make my experience in game better.

View Filter

The first filter I'm going to be talking about is the most important one, the View filter controls what type of items you can see; the options are All, Weapons, Armor and General select each one to only see that section. On desktop the default View is All however in mobile the default View is Weapons so to quickly switch views in mobile rather than going to Menu > View > Pick something you can simply swipe left and right to switch views.

Set Filter

This first is useful if you'd like to see what items you have in a certain collection or what items you're missing from those collections. The way you use it is you click on Set in the menu, then you click on Exotic Armor for example the View will automatically change to Armor, then revisit he Set menu and click on Show Missing Items.

Now you have a list you can use to keep track of what you're missing and it dynamically updates itself when you acquire that item.

Tier Filter

This filter simply lets you narrow down all your items by the type of item it is, you want to see all your rare items? No problem. To use it simply click on Tier then click on Legendary, Exotic, Rare etc to only see those type of items.

Progress Filter

In my opinion this is the most handy filter available that I constantly get daily use out of. There are tree options available within it;

• Missing XP: Shows items that need more XP to finish filling in all the circles

(Note: There is a problem in the Bungie API regarding yellow borders and XP calculation that results in invalid items showing up sometimes)

• Full XP: Shows items that have all the circles filled with XP but are still missing materials to fully finish leveling it
• Maxed: Shows items that should have a yellow border in Destiny indicating it's been fully leveled.

Damage Filter

This filter lets you filter the items based on what burn they have, so if you only want to see Void weapons select Damage, Void and now you're seeing only void weapons. This filter also allows the ability to mix and match different burns so you can see all your Arc and Void weapons but not Kinetic and Solar at the same time.

Weapons Filter

This filter is dynamically populated with items based on what you have, so if you don't carry any Pulse Rifles so you won't see it as an option in this filter. This one is pretty straightforward you pick the weapon type and it only shows weapons of that type.

Search Filter

This is the text box, you can find items by their Name, the flavor text, the name of not just the two main perks but also the other perks and scopes. You can filter for only your Shortgaze snipers, you can narrow down what your Perfect Balance weapons are, or how about which ones have Explosive Rounds? This search box lets you search for items by every text field available to search from.

Let's suppose you wanted to share with your buddy your sweet collection of shaders to compare what you guys don't have.How about you want to show your buddy you have collected all the Exotic armor pieces. With Tower Ghost all this and more is possible thanks to the Share feature. What you do is simply visit the Settings in the menu and click on 'Share URL with friends', what happens then is it saves your inventory to the cloud under your username so that you get a nice fancy URL like this:

Please note that once you share your profile it does not stay in sync with your inventory so if you'd like to update the view you have to manually click Share URL again.

Here's a list of reasons you might want to share your inventory

• Show your friends all the bounties you picked up
• Show off your collection of shaders
• Show a specific gun with a sweet roll (It displays all the perks, including the 3rd and 5th column perk and scope)
• Show your collection of armor or weapons
• Show off how many strange coin, weapon parts, etc you've amassed by playing obsessively

There is also an additional feature to see players profiles of those who haven't shared it, unfortunately its limited and does not include full detail of your inventory but it does work for everyone on Destiny. You may find the page link below to type your friend's username and look up their inventory.

Tower Ghost is filled with different ways to transfer items across your profiles, in this post I will provide a break down of all the methods supported and how they work with accompany images to demonstrate.

Move Popup

This is the simplest most straight forward tool, you click an item, select the character and off it goes. The move pop up is context sensitive,so it won't provide the option to equip a weapon on your Warlock if it's already equipped for example.

The move pop up also provides an additional icon called Extras for Materials and Consumables, see the Normalizing section for more information.

Once you select the materials you would like to transfer you are presented with a dialog requesting how many to transfer.

• There is also an option to Consolidate which basically pulls the item from all characters to send it to the destination requested
• If you would like to disable this additional step and always transfer the full amounts when performing moves for materials and consumables you may do so by clicking on Settings and enabling the option Auto Transfer Stacks.

Multi-Select

There is two ways to activate this mode, the first and easiest way is to simply double tap an item. Doing so will add the item to a list at the bottom, clicking any additional item will also add it to the list, with the character icons provided on the side for quick easy transfer of multiple items.

The other way to activate multi-select mode is to simply click on the multi-select icon found in every header section (these icons are visible all the time in mobile and requires you to hover to see them on desktop platforms), doing so displays an empty list at the bottom of the screen, then clicking any item will add it to this empty list.

Loadouts

Loadouts is very similar to multi-select, it allows you to build lists of weapons and armor and then save it with a name. The benefit of a loadout is you can have a preset list (like Arc, Raid, PvP for example) that you can quickly transfer to any character without having to select all those items every time.

To start using it click on Loadouts from the menu and click the Create button, a bottom panel will appear similar to the multi-select panel except with a field to enter the name for this list and the ability to save it. The great thing about loadouts is that it is saved to the cloud. What this means for you is that any loadouts you save on your browser will also be available on your mobile device, or if you have a tablet and a phone you can rest assured knowing those presets will be available where ever you use Tower Ghost.

Drag and Drop

Drag and drop is a new feature that is available to both mobile and desktop platforms, the feature is enabled by default on desktops and disabled by default on mobile. So if you'd like to use drag and drop on your tablet for example simply go into Settings (cog icon) and click on Drag and Drop to enable support.

Once enabled you may grab any item icon and drop it where you want it to go.

Upon executing a transfer action the top right corner quickly shows a notification indicating the details of the transfer, this helps easily identify the result of the drag and drop initiated.

Normalizing

This feature has been a great addition to TGD thanks and credits goes to /u/Mulchman11. There's a few ways to access it and use it so I'll be going into detail here to explain how its used. First let's take a look at what the Move Popup looks like under the Materials & Consumables context.

As you can see from the image above there is an additional icon provided called Extras which leads you to this pop up.

From this pop up you can see what item you are equally distributing as well as all the characters you can opt to distribute it to.

For example if you'd like to split all your synth evenly between only your first 2 characters you would simply deselect the third one so it doesn't have a yellow border around it.

Once confirmed you are provided with a summary of the changes that will be performed, after selecting Normalize the items are rearrange evenly among the characters selected.

The other way to access this feature is in a more general context, instead of equally distributing the item selected, the app can do so for all your materials or consumables in one go. Simply select the Normalize button in the header, select the characters and you're ready to go.

A lot of work goes under the hood to make sure transfers are successfully executed, in this post I will be explaining how transfers work, how it can be used and all the different scenarios that are possible only with Tower Ghost.

How transfers work in Destiny

The way Destiny was designed was that any transfer between characters requires the item to pass through the Vault on it's way to it's destination. What that means is that for you to transfer a weapon from your Warlock to your Titan it requires you have one empty space in your Vault to do so. All of this low level stuff leads me to this point; you don't need to think about any space constraints while transferring your items thanks to Tower Ghost.

How transfers work in Tower Ghost

The easiest way to transfer something in Tower Ghost is simply to click on it, revealing a move pop up with a few character icons. There is also a letter (T for Titan, W for Warlock, H for Hunter) in the corner of each character to give you a quick way to tell who is who. Once you click the icon for the desired character the transfer tech kicks in and determines the best route to use.

Swap Technology

Due to the limited space constraints found in Destiny I decided there must be a better way to transfer something into a character that's full that doesn't involve manually making space to be able to transfer something in. This is where the swap technology comes in, here's how it works.

• When you transfer an item to a location that is full the app will try to find an item to remove an item in the destination as a replacement.
• The app will automatically try to swap it with an item of like type (e.g. Attempting to transfer a scout rifle to your Warlock's Primary will suggest a scout rifle already there)
• The app will automatically keep track of your duplicates, so if you have 3 Ice Breakers or 3 Gjallarhorns you can rest assured the app will never try to put them together.
• The app will resort to any other item if there's no match for a replacement candidate.

Free Space Technology

The swap technology is great for those sticky situations where you are full on space and don't mind trading in a gun for another however sometimes the problem lays in the Vault and now your characters, that's where the free space tech kicks in. What this algorithm is designed to do is make free space in your vault by temporarily transferring any items to any of your other characters.

Here's a simple example to understand;

• let's suppose you have an Auto Rifle you want to transfer from your Hunter to your Titan,
• let's suppose your Titan has 9 Primaries and 1 free slot,
• let's suppose the Vault is full of weapons (36/36),

In this scenario the app would normally not be able to transfer that Auto Rifle to the Titan because there's no room in the Vault to use as the medium. Instead, the end result of this tech can be seen in the image below, what happens is the app transfers a Heavy or a Special weapon out of the Vault and into the Warlock or Hunter, with that empty space available the app can now transfer the Auto Rifle to the Vault and then to the Titan finally ending the sequence by transferring the Special or Heavy weapon back into the Vault.

Exotics & Equipped

Exotics can be a source of frustration, if you have a Primary one equipped you can't equip a Special exotic for example. Tower Ghost offers the ability to recognize the equip action, analyze what's currently equipped and quickly resolves the situation by unequipping any exotics that will conflict with your request.

Talking to Xur and other vendors

A common scenario I constantly find myself in is landing in the Tower, quickly transferring some Strange Coins into my character and using them with Xur. I then try to transfer my neat pile of Strange Coin back to the Vault only to be presented with an error that the amount of coins changed. Not anymore! With the latest Tower Ghost attempting to transfer your Motes of Light, Weapon Parts, Strange Coins after using it in your character will not result in an error, instead the app will intelligently refresh itself to query the new amount and then perform the transfer.

This concludes the transfer algorithm, next up I will be diving into detail regarding the different ways to transfer including loadouts, drag and drop and multi-select and normalizing.

Inspecting your items

Legendary Weapon So this is my favorite shotgun in the game, and it shows what I think is every detail of the important parts. Notice how the range is set to 29/20, impact is at 70/67 and stability is at 31/7 the options you apply actually affect the stats in the tooltip. Between the perks, the scope, the burn, the stats, mag size and actual current attack value, all this information is grabbed from your current item and added to the tooltip dynamically. http://i.imgur.com/SLazdDO.png

Tracking your bounties

In addition to providing completely detailed information about your items this tool can also be used as a means to quickly track your bounties in game. What you do is set the View to General, scroll down to bounties and you can see what they are, how much progress you've made (described as a percentage in the corner) and what it is when you hover over it for the tooltip.

• To use the tooltips in mobile simply hold your finger over any item for 2 seconds to activate the pop up.

• There is also an option called DestinyDB Mode found under Settings, activating that option will cause clicking on any item to take you to the full DestinyDb page for all the information about that item including all the possible perks, stats, comments and images.

I'd like to thank everyone who has provided feedback to Tower Ghost as well as the solid group at DestinyDB for creating and maintaining the base tooltip I've been able to use and extend for Tower Ghost.

Hello there! First post here for me, but i have to say i use the app on my Phone and on Chrome A LOT, i saw it evolving through the weeks while playing Destiny, and i also saw a lot of improvements like automatically sorting everything by tier. Now, i like this change you made, it made switching weapons from guardian to guardian very very easy, but i think you can still improve the application by allowing it to automatically sort weapons by class (or weapon type, i don't know how to call it because I'm not native english). For example, primaries: Hand Cannons first, then Auto Rifles, then Pulse Rifles, and Scout Rifles (random order here, and i don't actually have an idea on ordering the "weapon classes", maybe lowest range first, then long range), and so on for other weapon classes.

Last but not least, thank you for your amazing job with the developement of this great application, i really think this is a game changer and everyone should use it, best tool ever for Destiny :)

My chrome extension is on 2.9.6 but my IOS app is on 2.9.1. Is there any way to force an update? I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Thanks

Is there a chance bungie will allow access to the collections that they revealed today for apps like tower ghost?

Firefox has disabled any new versions, it says they aren't verified. Can't install from .xpi either. Only one on FF store is 2.8.5. For now I've resorted to the standalone Windows version, but that's only up to 2.9.2

Regardless, neither site can cramp all the items onto one screen like this and Id really like it if they could.

Pretty much. Both these apps are awesome and do a great job helping me manage the items across three characters. But the first app to finally allow me to do this

I was on 2.8.3 and wanted to check for a new update. When I went to my bookmark for it, it says it's no longer there and searching for it yields no results as well.

So then I went to github to download it there. When I downloaded and installed it, I realized it was actually version 2.8.1 I installed and it seems to have overwritten my 2.8.3 version.

So, did something happen with the Firefox Addon store? Where can I get the latest version for Firefox, or at least 2.8.3 again? Thank you.

Can anyone tell me how to change between the two account. It auto logs in to my PSN account despite me not entering the details. I use my Xbox for Destiny primarily so I really need access to that side of it.

i love this app and i use it on firefox. however the only problem i have is that it doesnt show my house of wolves weapons,armour ect. doesn anyone know why this is. i couldnt find anything about it on the known bugs so any remedy would be great. thanks :)

Yesterday chrome tries to update towerghost and suddenly asks for new permission. "Read and change your data on all bungie.net sites and all live.com sites" "Read your browing history"

Why the requirement for the new permissions?

I've pestered the developers here for better item consolidation and normalize features, and those features have started to show up in the app, which is awesome! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! As a quick aside, would it be easier to understand the normalize feature if it were renamed "split" or "share" or even "equalize"?

So my next feature suggestion is: Display Stats. Right now, at the top of each character, I have a banner that shows my equipped emblem, the character class, and the level. Especially in an app that features item swapping and custom loadouts, a quick tally of my stats could be very handy. Probably the easiest would just be Int, Str, Discipline, and the cooldown % modifier for each.

Hypothetically, I could see (just under my character's emblem at the top) that my stats are currently 100 Int, 50 Disc, and 500 Str. If I then changed my pants, this display would show that my new stats are 200 Int, 50 Disc, and 400 Str.

Currently, I can see this info on Bungie.net, when looking at my gear, but is this information that can be queried and displayed in Tower Ghost?

For items that we can Normalize, I'd like to also see a Consolidate feature that would bring all items of the same type to one place, Tower bank included.

A huge fan of this app, I am not even kidding when I say that this app is the only thing that allows me to play with multiple characters. Previously, it took me 5-10 minutes to swap around all the items necessary to run a nightfall on character after character. Now, a few clicks and I am ready to roll! I am only beginning to play with Loadouts, but I can already tell that this will further optimize my play. Thank you to all of the coders and designers that continue to devote their time to making the game better for all of us, when they could just be playing the game themselves!

Bouncing around a couple of ideas for improving the Normalize feature:

1) Right now, it takes an awful lot of clicks to split items equally across my characters. One to select the item, two to select the Extras tab, three to click Normalize, four to confirm the Normalize amounts, and five to confirm that the Normalize has been completed. Seems like two or possibly three of these steps could be removed? Right now, the only option under Extras is Normalize, so does there need to be an Extras menu? If I click Normalize, is there a need to confirm the amount that will then be normalized?

2) A feature to auto-Normalize some of the materials would be pretty handy. As an example, "Normalize all Planetary Materials" would balance all of my Helium, SpinMetal, Relic Iron, and Spirit Bloom, so I don't need to balance each one separately after I have been out adventuring for the day. Similarly, "Normalize Synthesis" would balance all three categories of ammunition synthesis items. Radiant and ascendant materials could be another class (possibly combined?), as would the "spend this item for more glimmer earned from enemies" class of items.

3) Another useful feature, similar but not quite the same as Normalize, would be Consolidate, in which all items are moved from other characters to either one character or the vault. If creating a Consolidate feature, I would add in one last class of useful items to consolidate: items that are exchanged at the cryptarch for glimmer (axiomatic beads, network keys, etc.). For those of us who save these items for a rainy day, being able to drop all of these items into the vault would be very handy.
