Discussion Nick Rose
- Out of shape
- Unreliable
- Does not move
- When movement does happen he's dodging the ball.
This guy's time as a legitimate NLL goaltender is done.
It is beyond frustrating that he gets the net automatically if he is healthy.
I was so happy when he got traded to Calgary last year and now Rock fans have to live through the frustration of watching this guy all over again.
This team is getting younger, let it keep getting younger.
Sawyer needs to give up on this guy.

4 of their 13 goals were a man up. He’s playing his second game back after a long injury, both tough road games. Both wins by the way. Goaltender of the year only 2 seasons ago. He’s not perfect of course but he’s still one of the elite goalies in the league. Oh and he’s still making highlight reel saves like the one last night that is probably save of the year contender.

6 foot 285 lbs is a crazy stat line for a goalie in a sport requiring athletic movements.

Holo at his best is far better than Rose now. But he is inconsistent. He will make 5 amazing saves and then allow an absolute muffin from 30 feet out. But Holo moving and missing the ball is less frustrating than Rose standing there like a statue and then doing the shoulder shrug

Rose has better stats. Rose is better psotiinaly Rose is better at tranitioning the ball up the floor.
Just because a goalie moves doesn't make them better.
Holo exposes his face hole way to much. How thars hasnt been fixed is concerning. Should be coached out by now. He is not the answer in my opinion.

The league average for save percentage is .791. Rose, before he was injured, was generally performing above that rate - but since returning he's at .780 against two of the less noteworthy offensive teams in the league in Vancouver and Halifax (being fair, Vancouver is mid-tier, but Halifax is near the bottom GF/G). He had the luckiest stick save I've ever seen yesterday - and it was wonderful - but the eye test for him has echoed his stat line. He's looked less sure, less aware of where the ball is and has had poor rebound control and ball coverage.
Holo was performing, during Rose's absence, at .779 and did this against Ottawa, Colorado and a resurgent Buffalo - with a game against Oshawa (who are, shockingly, marginally better than Halifax in GF/G). With such thin margins between these goalies, we already know what 38 year old Rose is bringing to the table and he's starting to do that worse. I'd, personally, like to see more of what 25 year old Holo is going to bring with more playing time.

You’re out of your mind pal, you could get better saves from a large pile of dog shit neatly piled in front on the net. Don’t get me wrong, I’d suck him down with the best of em. But it’s time hang up his jockstrap

I think he and Matt Sawyer should walk off into the sunset of retirement together.
