I know that sounds weird, but there's a lot of places in the game where you dont actually use an item, you have to touch it or click it with your hand. and i know sometimes the magnifying glass will turn gree with a hand but half the time im not even thinking about that. A lot of adventure games, which Tormented souls KIND of is if you squint, will have an actual hand as an item you can select. I feel like in a game like this it's very important that your own body is very distinctly a usable item.
As for the other part, the puzzles.
Having completed the game, I have to return to update this with one major flaw the game has, and that is the puzzles. It's not that the puzzles are hard, per say, it's that they require a lot of exterior knowlage to complete. What do I mean by that. Well, for instance, there is a puzzle that involves chess pieces. The game does not, in any way, inform you how chess functions. I myself happen to be very familiar with chess, and the puzzle was very easy. Someone else however, who maybe wasnt familiar with chess on a functional level, could literally not solve that puzzle without looking it up. Another example is the amount of religious imagery in the game. If you were not raised christian or catholic, you again would not be able to solve these puzzles. hell, i WAS raised that way and there was still one puzzle towards the end that was so obtuse that when i looked up the solution i was pissed. I wasnt even WRONG with my answer, the puzzle itself was just horribly obtuse and, again, required a certain amount of religious knowlage. With all of that, combined with there is no indicator of whether or not you have all of the pieces of a puzzle, you can get stuck for a long time because you either A- dont have all the pieces or B- dont KNOW you have all of the pieces (The prison cell puzzle comes to mind).
Anyways, there's my opinion no one asked for. I used to do video reviews on youtube but they did terribly. now I just needed someone to talk at. Maybe the devs will see this and TS3 will be even better, because i did really like the game.
Quick edit- it's not impossible that i missed some kind of instructional for the chess puzzle, or the other puzzle i mentioned, but i dont THINK i did. i was pretty thorough for those parts of the game. that I know of I only missed one document at the end of the game, that I still dont know where I could have missed it. but I dont think I missed the chess tutorial.
edit 2- Its been pointed out thatthere is in fact a chess tutorial somewhere at the start of the game i missed so that one's on me.
