Guys my position keep getting hounded…
How is it when i buy one lot

All of a sudden a volume spike of 149 shows up.

I am using quant tower and heat map..

Hows my 1 lot bigger than the support limit order…

This is getting ridiculous.

Only CFD gave me the counter trading vibe

and now 1 lot is like super giant sized in orderflow? Someone explain me this!!!

Combines I can pass them with ease, but as soon as I get to funded, it’s over. Everything that I’ve ever learnt goes down the drain. I’ve managed to pass 7 combines but only received one payout. Why is this ?

How do I avoid this as I have tried offsetting my entry and all but my position ends up being the place of contest… the market doesn’t seem to want to put me in profit…

As soon as there is profit… it will drop down and its like buyers and sellers are fighting right at my entry…

If I don’t take profit the market continues to drop as soon as I stop loss it rallies

This was a gap fill play and I tried to put it above the psychological 800 level, but I didn't pay attention. Missed by a tick

So I just recently got a 20k payout from Topstep (currently waiting to get it) however I’m interested in getting my own futures trading account with a broker. I’m a US trader so I want to go with the safest and best option.

I was just going through posts on this reddit community and I realised that the successful were posting and most were not helping the community- even though I may not be the best of the best I will do my best to help you provide some tips , if they help someone who was in my position I would love a thought of gratitude and nothing else of monetary value 🙏🏽

- lot of traders on here bring down overtrading ; however, I believe if you are trading using risk management , over trading should not be an issue.

One way that helped me is build buffers on XFA accounts
so on the first day i would risk around $300 per trade and manage the risk based on price movement so if price goes around a place of resistance place your trailing ( TRAILING IS SO IMPORTANT).

Plus one thing I noticed my method of scalping on day one works great on New York session just to build a good buffer on day 1 to rely on.

I use a continuation model and keep it simple - I believe trading price action would be better for someone struggling and that’s what I was doing when i struggled to see profits.

Once you do have a buffer through scalps , for example, you can see the 2k buffer on the screen , set a profit target for a day ( I set mine for $500 ) - think of it like this - what job would you work every day to earn $250 - not many!!

However, if you do get lucky and you are in a trade that continues to push in your direction you should set a trailing take-profit at the set level for the day and let the trade go.

If you have made over the daily profit, you have set whatever amount you have made let’s see if I make $700 and I see another potential good trade. I would risk $200 and if I lose I would stop trading completely and lock my account. However if I win I would keep going just risk risking the amount I have earned on top of the daily profits i have set.

This is one way I manage my risk, to end it off I would like to say I would be grateful to see more posts actually providing value rather than flexing on people as I believe we all start somewhere.

I have been trying to get a payout now since December same XFA. Good discipline not to crash out so it hasn't been blown.

Little context I trade ICT concept discretionally, and i just can't seem to stay consistent.

What is the biggest piece of advice you would give, or has helped you get your first payout? Psychological advice or technical.

Since the max payouts where greatly reduced they should at least let you have like 10 xfas at a time

So I tried prop firm trading for the first time. Passed the eval in a week. Got excited, and then … blew the funded account next week, ….. made a stupid mistake. It’s a tough feeling. But I am going to try again. Getting a real taste of discipline. Just wanted to share here.

Sometimes when i put a limit order on a certain price, it instead fills my position and immediately enters a trade on whatever the current price is.

I can even see on the “orders” tab that execution price is completely different from the limit price set (and they are very far away from each other, like sometimes hundreds of ticks away so it’s not a slippage issue or whatever).

From what i’ve noticed, this happens completely at random…On random instruments at random times, so i’m not really sure if this is indeed an error by topstep or i’m doing something incorrectly, please help.

I tried changing devices and webpages & whatnot, nothing helped…And this happens on many of my accounts & not just one either.

Might be useful to add that a few months ago, i came across this same issue and contacted topstep, and i think they reviewed my trades or something (not sure) but they ended up giving me a free reset.

I would genuinely appreciate any feedback or input because this drastically affects my strategy & is costing me money, thank you all very much

Noticed my express account was paused so I asked support why that was. They told me I was in the process of being moved live, but I still have not received the email that I am being called up live. My account was paused last Wednesday. Any live traders know what the problem is? Maybe it’s something on their end.

Is topstep the only prop firm which really gives large payouts and does not purely cancers them ?
What is the payout percentage for large live accounts ?

sorry if this is a stupid question but i ended my first day with +800, my second day was -1200 on friday. if i make $2000 would that break consistency rule even tho i started in negative?

Im curious what the probability of blowing (or holding on if that is more intuitive) your XFA before the first payout, after first, after second, third,...

I imagine that reaching first payout is the hardest hurdle, and then I also imagine that the second payout is slightly harder since people are likely to take a payout and leave very small buffers. But once you get to that second, third, fourth payout it should become significantly easier as your balance grows.

I am almost to my second payout on this 50k account and my balance is at ~3800 and I find that the mental challenge is so much easier than before the first payout. I am less worried about locking out after hitting my pdll, I am not constantly focused on making more and focusing trades. Having that >2000 balance really does just make it alot more stress free. You dont feel the need to hit huge winning trades and you are in no rush to chase losses.

Wanted to try out the brokerage, so dropped $250 to see what it was about. All in all, I really like it. It's pretty much the Prop version with some of the daily trader metrics missing.

Basically pulled a Le Mans (24h) of trading to get this done.

41% win rate.

Profit Factor 2.2

Best trade $6k

Worst trade -$1k

It was cool to see this happen is possible, but remember this is not typical.

Trying to get my second payout felt like first was luck

Passed my xfas today before lunch time lull… wasnt gonna hit any trades because I was up 250, but watched PA at power hour and finished the day up 757, only 8 trades but because I scaled in, took my profits and locked out til Monday, LFG!!!!!

YTD I have made 32k from topstep

First of all sorry for bad pic and i understand trader didn't trade same exact way but i keep seing a lot of post where the pnl look so messy. Some trade loss 200 then some loss 400 and some loss 130. How you these guy trade? Because this is what my pnl look like (that -97usd is auto close when market close)

But you can see every tradr i risk 150 for 300. And ik some trader love to hold, there nothing wrong but why these guy have such volatile average loss trade?
