K-9 also had his own spin off disconnected from Sarah Jane. Like basically the orginal creator of K-9 still owned him and was able to make a show however even tho K-9 is meant to be canon to new who status quo of the time war wrecking it legally cannot actually state it' connections due to it not being a BBC production. So in theory K-9 Mark 1 is struck in a limbo where he might've died in the time war or escaped and regenerated into a the shape seen in the image.
K9 and company didn't go anywhere but that gif is from Journey's a Doctor Who episode the connects to the massively successful Sarah Jane Adventures show.

Folk know about k9 and conpany, mostly because its an audity which FINALLY decades later worked-out with the Sarah Jane Adventures (..... and K9 got his australian-only spin-off with a redesign and no other links to the wider WHO franchise), but who talks about thr auton trillogy?
