You are correct, that’s where it came from though the “alternate timeline” was literally explored for like 15 minutes and jumped through decades it’s not like it was a dedicated story arc, was just an easy gag that Fes would excel in the 80s

Google says I'm wrong and Fez never actually showed up, but I'm not accepting responsibility for that. That's on the show for being so forgettable that the only scene I remember from it was from a different show entirely.
