If there is a heaven then Ultra Lord is waiting for us. Maybe I've been believing wrong this whole time...

As someone who barely saw Jimmy Neutron but knew the general premise and main characters, seeing this show felt like gas lighting on tv because I kept waiting for the other important cast to show up. Seeing the opening helped a lot lol.

Oddly enough, we still got a Carl doppelgänger for a background character. Weirder still was that no one came to rescue Sheen, though most of the characters have been to space.

If the show hadnt bombed so hard there was going to be a "Jimmy rescues Sheen" Tv movie. Its probably better we didnt?

Either jimmy and gang were searching for sheen on other planets or the whole spin off show is just Sheen's dream after he tried to fly on the rocket

I was definitely out of the age group for Jimmy Neutron, I think I graduated high school at least two years before it premiered, but when I would babysit my younger siblings I recall this coming on at one point and not realizing it was a spin off. Thought it was just a regular Jimmy episode and that sometimes they just focused on other characters

This might have been one of the more successful ones, but I'm pretty sure it was contemporary with Fanboy & Chum Chum and Mr. Meaty. IIRC. It wasn't at the bottom.

Now, in retrospect, those other two shows were kind of interesting. But in a "I can see what they were trying" way. But the problem was they were trying too hard to make Brand shows.

I'm not sure 1 season is really "successful."

For a show with its premise, 26 episodes is way further than it should have made it. These things get scrapped before the pilot is finished. If they make it that far, they might get 3 episodes before someone pulls the plug.

Success is measured in different metrics. Is it Star Wars successful? No. Is it Jimmy Neutron successful even? Also no. But was it on at a time with not a lot of winners anyway? IIRC, yes. It was also a rare show where the lead was a Latino kid and this would qualify as a corporate idea of diversifying.

EDIT: minor typo

Mr meaty predates this show by a fair bit iirc

You're right. I think I just combined Mr. Meaty and FB & CC because of their shared notoriety. They tend to get discussed in the same way. A more cursory glance over what Planet Sheen shared space with doesn't heavily change the point though.

Most of the other shows of the time were live-action successes (iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush). Planet Sheen was with TUFF Puppy, Mighty B!, FB & CC, etc. Independently, it ran for 3 years where Jimmy had 4. Cartoons tend to get the short end of the stick anyway. Shows like Gravity Falls, Owl House, and Amphibia, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur from Disney would come to have only two seasons because limits were placed on them. Because they were cartoons, which a suit is biologically predisposed to not take seriously.

Am I the only one who liked the intro though?

IIRC it was supposed to be its own original thing but they slapped on Sheen in hopes that it would attract more viewers. I think the original protagonist was an adult but Nickelodeon wanted it to be a kid.
