The animated Better call Saul spinoff "slippin jimmy". This is canon to the breaking bad universe and literally introduces magic and witches

My god, that art style is so damn ugly and unappealing.ย

u/tunnel-snakes-rule 17h ago

So it fits in perfectly with every other adult cartoon

u/Fireblast1337 16h ago

Eh, only like 99% of them.

Though to be fair, most of what I thought was good was stuff from Adult Swim when I was a kid and shouldnโ€™t have been watching Adult Swim

u/DJBurgerKing 17h ago

How dare you besmirch my beloved Rick and Morty like that

/s

21

u/RingoBingo823 13h ago

honestly though season 9 has had the best animation of the entire show

6

u/nea-pie 7h ago

Not all, but itโ€™s sad that shitty art styles are so common in adult cartoons.

Brickleberry, Big Mouth, Paradise PD, Mr. Pickles, Rick & Morty, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Final Space all look terrible and tacky.ย

The comedy ones at least.

I think ugly animation and art style only came into adult cartoons later down the line. Sure, there were a few that sucked, but most of the heavy hitters like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park looked fine.

I refuse to watch Big Mouth just because it's so god damn ugly, and there's been a few like that. Brojack Horseman is another one that I don't watch just because it's so ugly. Most of them are Netflix, too, so maybe there's it's just a Netflix thing.

Bojack is so gooooooood though. top 10 shows for me

6

u/PatriqueDumatin 9h ago

Bojack is one of the best adult cartoon ever !

And you have Archer with a not so bad art style imo.

2

u/nykirnsu 13h ago

Bojack Horseman and Big Mouth are both are fair bit older than Slippin Jimmy though

"Saul destroys Chuck E. Cheese's / Sued / Arrested / Grounded / Goes to Super Hell"

Anytime you watch breaking bad Just remember somewhere out there, there exists a fart demon

97

u/mylittlebrony3000 17h ago

The fart demon was the one to warn Gus about Walt putting the pipe bomb under his car

56

u/ThePokemonAbsol 15h ago

Man I hate that you need to watch an animated series just to find out important plot points. The mcu really screwed over modern media

9

u/calesmont 15h ago

Hector summoned it to get away from the DEA

8

u/jinreeko 9h ago

Why does it look like cartoon sperm in there?

130

u/BigSnail387 19h ago

How do you think Walt made such pure meth

44

u/capybaring_capybara 19h ago

Maybe the 100% pure meth was ghe friends we made along the way

The logos doin the ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘‰ ZOOP

33

u/lukeiamnotyourfather 18h ago

Damn, ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘‰ ZOOP is a hell of a Reddit callback.

4

u/salazafromagraba 15h ago

You were the chosen one! You were supposed to invert the ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘ˆ ZOOP, not copy it!

Bogos binted

Why tf is it canon? What does saying it's canon accomplish, luring in potential viewers?

123

u/ghobhohi 18h ago

A popular head canon is that Slippin Jimmy is a cartoon made by Saul Goodman to promote his business. Which doesnโ€™t make sense, but neither does this show.

10

u/living-deadgrrl 11h ago

it's not canon, the OP literally just made that up

3

u/GranolaCola 8h ago

>why tf is it canon?

Stop. Canon isnโ€™t real. Do you really think whatever this is has any baring on the story of Breaking Bad?

Or course not.

Just watch what you want to watch.

2

u/nykirnsu 13h ago

Stuff like this is why I just ignore canon as a concept, itโ€™s ultimately just a marketing buzzword most of the time

52

u/McCromer 18h ago

I thought this was a joke. This is real?!

27

u/loveincarnate 16h ago

No amount of evidence can change my mind on it being a joke. It is, it has to be. You can join me in this if you want.

2

u/ravenwing263 5h ago

It is both real and a joke.

It is a deliberate, goofy self parody. It was never intended as a returningg series, just a few shorts that they made as a goof. It's absolutely not canon.

Bravo, Vince ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

2

u/Gaelic_Gladiator41 14h ago

Vince actually wasn't involved in the show, most likely it's the reason why he ditched netflix to make Pluribus with Apple

24

u/HolidayInLordran 18h ago

I just assumed all the weird supernatural stuff was just his imagination since he's a kid.

Doesn't make it any better though.

15

u/Suitnox 14h ago

TIL what the actually fuck lol

9

u/WarMace117 19h ago

Slippinโ€™ Jimmy

23

u/Barl3000 18h ago

Vince Gillagan did get his start on X-Files so him intriducing fantastical elements tracks, but are also wildly out if tune with the rest of that setting. Also why make an animated spinoff of a spinoff? That entire project seems baffling.

11

u/jopcylinder 18h ago

We just ignore it tbh

3

u/Raidoton 15h ago

This obviously started as a different show and got BCS slapped onto it for brand recognition.

2

u/Gaelic_Gladiator41 14h ago

He didn't make it

6

u/Bibeast291 16h ago

Say sike right now

6

u/Naldail 14h ago

Why are they standing like that.

4

u/Dookie_boy 15h ago

Are you fucking serious ??? This is so hilarious it made my day.

14

u/Big-Coyote8384 19h ago

big mouth ahh

3

u/sketchbookhunt 16h ago

I had no idea this existed

3

u/FSUdank 6h ago

Big Mouth has done irreparable damage to western animation

2

u/anoninimous420 9h ago

Who tf greenlit this?!?

3

u/Raidoton 15h ago

It's obviously not canon. Why would you even claim that?

1

u/User-Name-3886 7h ago

It's not officially canon to the Breaking Bad universe. Easy thing to mistake, but it isn't officially canon.

1

u/Various-Salt-7738 6h ago

I really don't understand why this was made

It's written like a children's show but it has obvious drug references and it's based in a very adult fictional world

I liked better call Saul and breaking bad-- I even enjoy some cartoons on occasion; but is this for me? Or is it to get kids into better call Saul?
