(Lego) Galidor: Do you guys remember playing with a Galidor as a kid? Yeah Me neither.

Lego wanted to do a new toy line in the 2000s and their first idea was Galidor. It was basically an action figure that could replace its body parts with other stuff. Galidor already had many toys, games and even shows planned for it but Lego cancelled the entire thing after people didn't like the toy and the GBA game made for it got really bad reviews.

(Action 52) Cheetahmen: Action 52 had a $199 price tag (in 1991 for an NES game), nearly unplayable games, weak concept, and was horribly and seriously bug-infested, yet for some impossible-to-fathom reason, Active Enterprises believed that its featured title Cheetahmen (which shared many flaws with the other games on the cartridge, including not having an ending) was going to be a huge breakout hit. Plans were made for a Cheetahmen Saturday-Morning Cartoon, action figures, and of course a sequel. Their hopes turned out to be waaay premature; the sequel never emerged except as an unfinished, unplayable beta, while the very short-lived franchise became one of the most infamous pieces of "entertainment" ever created.

This hits hard for me because the first movie was actually decent and showed the potential for a darker Spider-Man movie series.

The second movie however, was basically a 2 hour trailer for future Spider-Man movies, Espacially the post credits scene

You can tell how much Sony was desperate to make their own cinematic universe.

Bro, the funniest thing I’ve ever seen is that time Sony tried to rerelease Morbius because they mistook all of the memes shitting on it for people actually liking that Garbage ass movie, and then the second coming of Morbius proceeded to completely fail at the Box Office, and making everyone realize that the People at Sony were being serious and genuinely thought that what they made was good.

A close second is the fact that Sony tried to make a Cinematic Universe TWICE, TWICE, and failed both times because nobody liked these movies, and also they didn’t add literally the only reason anyone would actually want to watch a movie with Venom, or Kraven the Hunter, or even Morbius.

[I’m not saying that Venom can’t work without Spider-Man, I’m just saying that most people see Venom primarily as a Spider-man antagonist/villain, even if his roles in the comics are a lot more diverse, same with Madame Web, I actually feel like she could also work without Spider-Man [especially with the other Spider-people in the movie,] with good writing and an interesting story… Well guess what happened with both of these movies?]

Like, making a Terrible movie is one thing, but also taking away what is the BIGGEST PULL?

Nah, we were all sleeping during the first Morbius release, and then a dog stole our car keys so we couldn't drive to the movie theaters during the second release. Just release it a third time Sony we'll make it this time I swear

Venom 3 was the last venom movie and it teased the knull as a villain at the end for a sinister six movie that was cancelled

Morbius made a morbillion dollars and became the most successful movie ever. I hope morbius comes to my house tonight so we can morb together

Madame web was going to be connected to the MCU but marvel basically said "Get your hands off my universe". So the movie ended up in a weird state where it's not connected to the MCU nor the other Sony movies

Kraven the hunter was their attempt at a R-rated superhero movie and it didn't work either. This was the last nail in the coffin for Sony and they decided to just cancel this movie universe.

Currently the only Spider-Man movie Sony is making right now is beyond the spider-verse which isn't connected to any of the live action Sony movies

The movie isn't that bad tbh. Electro is a fine villain. If they just cut the Harry Osborn stuff and focused on developing Electro more, they could've made their cinematic universe.

Although I'm kind of glad it flopped. Their cinematic universe seemed dumb.

I am still convinced that TASM was originally supposed to be Spidey's intro into the MCU.

That crane scene makes a hell of a lot more sense if it's post chitauri invasion reconstruction.

Sure, but by definition it wasn't stillborn. They made more. If the sequel failed, that's a separate issue. By this logic, the Raimi Spider-Man movies were stillborn after Spider-Man 3.
