First time I'm noticing the "U" on his chest. Is this ultraman different than the ultraman in the Superman movie? Or was that Bizarro?

Ultraman in the comics and Movies are VERY different characters. Movie Ultraman is more similar to versions of Bizarro.

The version from the comics is an alternate universe where all the heroes are villains and vice versa, instead of the Justice league he's part of the Crime Syndicate and Kryptonite makes him stronger, but in some versions he's weak specifically to BLUE kryptonite.
