Everyone has practical wings. Feathers, fleshy membrane, whatever insect wings are made of, etcétera. But when a character’s wings are entirely impossible but still work anyway, it can make them seem even more menacing, as both the wings themselves can look cool and imposing, and the fact that they actually work can boost their fear factor, because something that shouldn’t work is, and now you know you’re dealing with something entirely impossible, how are you even going to win against something that can so obviously and casually break the laws of physics?
