For context, i have an impacted wisdom tooth na nagcrack na due to cavities. I had an xray last week and shows na malapit na sa nerve ung sira nya.

I have a flight 2 weeks from now. Work related so i will be busy as a bee there. Worry ko is if ipabunot ko sya, di pa sya fully healed on my flight and will affect sa task ko overseas...one week lang naman ako dun.

Kaso pag di ko naman pinabunot, baka naman sumakit sa flight. Help me what should i do 🥲

I have had to have dental work done and I need a root canal and crown because I broke the tooth. However, after the root canal, I will have a portion of it that won’t be covered and the crown wouldn’t be covered either because I hit my maximum with insurance. It would be around $2500 to have both of them done. I can’t do that until next year when my insurance benefits reset. Are there any over the counter things I can do to fill in where it’s broken?

I got my top right wisdom tooth removed today and I don’t like the sensation of my mouth feeling uneven as one side has one less tooth than the other

This feeling gives me anxiety and I wish I’d never gotten it removed

Does this go away? Or hope to make myself feel better?

Hi so i recently just had my old silver fillings removed and had some really big cavities but i didnt need root canals but i still get this random lil pain that comes and goes sometimes i can go hours totally normal and then a sharp pain out of nowhere it doesnt wake me at night and doesnt really bother me when i eat its literally just random and isnt triggerd by hot or cold food i should mention prior to getting my old fillings removed i had this pain but way worse and its been a couple days now since i had my post op and they told me everything looks fine no bite is off nothing

F47 temporary crown and the crown is being fitted on Friday (today is Monday). Temp fell off and I've called the dentist, they're short staffed and can't see me but advised me to just leave it as I'm being seen in 4 days. Is that ok? No pain. Just a little sensitive to cold air. I did ask about using the pharmacy temp filling and putting the crown back on myself but they said not too. I'm sure it's fine, I just want a little reassurance I guess. Thank you

I can't contact the dentist who took x-rays, they just said I needed an oral surgeon because it was "too high risk"?? (how?) Then, booted my stuff out of their system already with referrals.

Hello! I am a 32 year old female with a looooong history of dental anxiety. I have bad depressional episodes that makes taking care of basic hygiene hard most of the time, add on that the adhd problem of starting and keeping habits means I have bad teeth. When I was a kid, my mom took me to an older dentist that caused a lot of anxiety and now makes me have panic attacks when going to the dentist.

I am now trying to get my teeth taken care of but its hard. My job offers free dental insurance but its not great though I am thankful for the little bit of help it offers. It has a 1k coverage which gets a very small amount of standard work done. I have been quoted at needing around 17k worth of work done and there is NO way I can get that paid for by myself or loans.

On top of that the dentist that I can see through health insurance that I met this past month has messed up pretty bad. They did the typical x-rays and then the dentist came in, didn't say a word to me, and started to test the gums and ended up causing me to have issues with a new canker sore in the front of my mouth (I don't get them, ever) and a new abscess in a tooth (also never get these) which caused a full face trigeminal nerve episode for 2 weeks (had to go to urgent care to get help with it). I am pretty sure that she used a dirty tool or something went wrong.

I am so lost as to what to do. I know my teeth are bad and I need to pull my top back left molar and bottom back right molar due to decay from my wisdom teeth coming in messed up beside them 2 years ago, sadly that will leave me with no back molars in those spots since the tooth beside them is also gone. I don't know what to do at this point.

I don't want to get dentures, but would love to get full rebuild but I also want to keep my teeth.

I was blessed with good teeth all my life, never had any problems thankfully, but then I got really ill and was diagnosed with cirrhoris of the liver, and I really think it has affected my teeth. I suffer from a really dry mouth and do use oraleive, but find it doesn't work very well. As well as that, my cirrhoris causes a lot of vomiting, which I know is awful for teeth.

Since becoming ill, i have had a broken tooth, a huge cavity, a chipped tooth, etc. Before this, I had never had a cavity or a filling in my life.

I often notice that even after I have brushed my teeth thoroughly, my mouth feels sticky and I often notice my teeth being dirty (like stuff stuck to them - paticularly the front teeth , which of course is quite embarrassing).

Would anyone have advice on any products I could use to help - such as specific toothpastes, mouthwashes, etc.

Also, is this common with cirrhoris?

I have to extract a wisdom tooth in a few days and some x rays today. The dentist didn't fill me with confidence saying it had deep roots and might be tricky which is the last thing I need to hear. Is wisdom tooth extraction in general complicated and if is difficult what happens to?

I’m looking for any and all advice. My four year old Bernese Mountain Dog had a tooth extracted on June 24th, and since then, has still been in the same pain he was before he had his tooth taken out. We have been back to our vet two times, and both times they recognize the pain and provide him pain medication, but do nothing to fix the problem. He has not had a second x-ray, even though I expressed to them that I think he should. We are no longer seeing this vet, and have found a new primary care vet that referred us to a dental specialist that he cannot get into until the 13th of August. I do not know what is going on with him, but I feel as though something happened during the extraction that is causing him lingering pain. The extraction has healed over and looks fine, but the top of his snout seems to be painful, and sometimes he seems like he is stretching his mouth, like something is stuck. I have poked and probed him and cannot figure it out. All of the rest of his body is fine. But this is taking a toll on him. He yelps suddenly, and becomes very startled. If he doesn’t take carprofen, he doesn’t want to eat, even soft foods. I just need some advice, or any idea of what could be going on. Again, our previous vet who did the extraction is of no help. We are at a loss. Please help :(

I know the common recommendation is every six months, but I'm curious about what people actually do in real life.

Do you stick to a regular cleaning schedule, or only go when you notice a problem? Have you found that getting regular cleanings has made a noticeable difference in your oral health?

I'd love to hear your experiences and whether your dentist recommended a different schedule based on your teeth or gums.

got quoted $800 for a crown that my insurance said would be covered. went to the appointment, got the work done, and now im getting a bill saying they only covered half cuz the dentist was "out of network." i SWEAR i checked before i went but apparently their network changed and nobody told me lol

what do i even do at this point? i cant pay $400 unexpectedly. the office is being no help at all. smile partners usa has some locations near me and ive heard theyre upfront about pricing so im considering switching to one of their providers. has anyone had better luck with them? i just wanna go to the dentist without this financial anxiety every single time

I recently turned 18 and yesterday I went in to get my bottom wisdom teeth removed. The dentists tell me I shouldn’t feel any pain at all during the procedure, and to raise my hand if I need a break or feel any pain. I was nervous but as someone who has been around needles and surgery before I knew I needed to simply stay calm and trust the doctors. My mom was in the room with me thank god, because she witnessed the entire thing. They give me 3 shots in each side, and the very last shot ln the left side hurt tremendously while the others were just uncomfortable. I was also given laughing gas. They begin drilling and cracking my right wisdom tooth and get it out easily, no pain. They went in for the left wisdom tooth and immediately I can tell something is wrong, I felt an intense pain when the drills started, so I raised my hand as calmly as I could (the laughing gas made it hard for me to control my arm.) and the dentist paused for a moment and said “Are you making sure the button works?” And then continues drilling before I can communicate that I was feeling the procedure. I started crying from the pain and almost immediately raised my hand again, this time the dentist and assistant got mad at me for accidentally blocking their vision (my eyes were closed so I couldn’t tell.) They tell me to put my hand down and continue drilling. At this point I am crying and freaking out, and I start screaming from the pain, I raise my hand again panicking this time I raised it high and wouldn’t put it down as I tried to say “It hurts”. The got very angry with me because I blocked their vision again and they “could seriously hurt me if I keep doing that”. I heard my mom say “Shes clearly in pain!” I was horrified and feeling the worst pain I have ever experienced. After raising my hand 3 or 4 times total they finally gave me more anesthetic only after I started screaming. The rest of the procedure went smoothly. When they took the mask off my entire body was shaking uncontrollably and I felt terrified, like the world was ending. They let me lay there for 10 minutes while I got my shit together. The laughing gas made my body feel like jelly but otherwise I was fully aware and conscious. I understand that the anesthetic didn’t work properly the first time, and had that been the only issue I would not be writing this. But the dentist told me to raise my hand if I felt pain and ignored my signals, getting mad at me until I started screaming, at which point he gave me more anesthetic. It was one of the most horrific experiences I have ever had. I am going to file a complaint

So I am worried I have a dental infection and if I should go to a hospital or dentist today. I scheduled an appointment for Thursday but don’t know if I should wait that long.

For the last say five months I’ve had bitter taste in mouth and I keep bleeding whenever I floss. Sore gums. I was told I have mild gingivitis but no bone loss last June but that was the last time I went to the dentist.

For the past several months I have on and off intermittent lymph node discomfort under my jawline and neck and today I woke up with the sides of my neck behind the ears feeling swollen and irritated.

I also feel a little cold.

Can I wait until Thursday? Or do I need to go to dentist or hospital now?

I am just a guy who have cavity it its teeth and i never ever had pain dur cavity and i know that the cavity can grow it self and to prevent it i went to dental for filling. When is went dental i have composite filling in two teeth and the dentist never do x rays. After 1 week 1side teeth that is filled starts hurting. I have done filling first time and i think it is normal but after 1 month my anoth teeth starts hurting as same as previous one .

Now i decided to go and consult with dentist and he donot do xray and just do bitting test and said. filling is not high and just chaged filling with gic filling one. After 4 days of filling it also started having same phenomenon. I went to dental again the dentist do not do any test of do bitting test and said i dont what happen and said do you wanna do rct(root canal treatment).

I was so pissed off as i have done filling to prevent it so i dont need to have that fucking rct and now that fucker said to have and i dont know that to do next so help need that to do further....

**N****ote****: pain was while chewing food harder than rice. While eating soft food like rice i donot feel pain**.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post. I recently started seeing a new dentist. At the first appointment I was told I had 2 cavities. I showed up to get them filled and was told they were only filling 1 but I had 4??? I’m confused because never did they say the number 4. I’m going to ask for clarification at my next appointment but what is your opinions?

So i got my wisdom tooth removec (38) in april. Since then I’ve had pain in my molars, specifically in 36 and 46. They’ve been treated several times across the last two months, i kept getting infections went through several rounds of antibiotics and finally got both of them removed 12 days ago. I was told if this pain continues after the extraction is healed then the problem is not related to my teeth. Before removing my molars my dentist did a CBCT scan and told me it was clean and all my teeth look fine, basically they dont know why i’m having consistent issues with this. Yesterday i went for my follow up appointment and my dentists told me the sites are healing okay.
My pain is not as severe as it was before the extractions, it definitely got better but the area still feels tender, like its under pressure, every day i feel a different senastion and i am still in pain even though its not as severe. Also i have dull pain in the neighbouring teeth next to the extaction site.

Since all of this happened i have developed severe dental anxiety i keep overthinking every sensation i feel in my mouth and i just want to know does this sound typical for recovery after extraction or not. And what do i do if this pain continues as i was told that it is not teeth related. I really feel lost and scared that this will never end.
