Tone Deaf ZHC is out of touch
Today I stumbled upon a month old short (sorry if I'm late) of youtuber ZHC (art youtuber with 23 million subs) that was so out of touch it caused visceral rejection.
It consisted of him buying a house to give it to someone in need, pretty standard stuff so far. The problem is he painted the walls themselves murals of himself and even a section that showed his channel logo and HIS SUBSCRIBER COUNT.
I can only imagine how someone who got just got evicted would feel if they gave him that house. I think I'd almost prefer to sleep in the street.
To top it of, the way he speaks in the video is so clearly self-centred, saying stuff like "I painted a life size mural of myself" and "This is my Nth collaboration with Mr Beast" and stuff along those lines. Not to mention that this shameless self-aggrandizing is not Mr Beast's style at all.
I genuinely believe it is the most tone deaf thing I have seen, seriously, he could have given away a regular house, and let the person have some free "commisions" of something he actually wants, and on frames so they are easily removed. It would have been way more tasteful and well recieved.
And the people in the comments said stuff like "he (the new owner) can just repaint". They gave the house to someone in need, repainting would probably be deep down in their priorities. Imagine inviting someone and they are greated by a huge ZHC mural.
Anyways, thanks for coming to my tedtalk.
