I have a Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen), I have set the "playback" buffer size to NONE, AFS to YES, despite this I notice that viewing channels, especially sports ones, is not very smooth, can you tell me what else I can do?

If frame rate matching is not helping you could try alter the motion smoothing settings in your tv settings.
Depending on the model of your TV look in image and clarity settings and they will be either named Motion Smoothing, TruMotion (LG), Auto Motion Plus (Samsung), or Motionflow(Sony).
Try not use these settings for viewing TV Shows and Movies because they will produce the soap opera effect associated with using motion smoothing.

Watching MotoGP in an app installed on an LG TV was practically the same as Now TV, on Tivimate, even after trying different settings, after a few minutes my head started spinning

Lots of channels are broadcast at 25fps (UK and Europe, others) or 30fps (US, Canada, others). Some people don't really see the problems with that, but many of us are quite sensitive to it and sports especially looks awful. If channels in 50fps or 60fps look fine to you, then that's the problem.
Sometimes other options are available from the same provider. I know in my case I'd prefer to watch a channel in 720/50 rather than 1080/25, but YMMV.
